I think we were a tad unlucky as our booked room had been given away by mistake and when we arrived at 10pm the room on offer smelled of damp. The air con control was missing so it was pretty hinky till we got one on day 2. The toilet didn’t refill properly so each time we had to take off the lid and fiddle with the workings to stop the water running. The bed was very small, rickety and squeaky. The male staff were very friendly and helpful however and the free bar is a nice touch, plus the roof terrace has sweeping views. Location is excellent.

Excellent place to stay in old San Juan. Near plaza Colon that is the hub to many events and tours. Clean, friendly and with attention to detail. A quiet resting place out of the business of the tourist influx that happens when visitors arrive.

I’m not being harsh. I’m being honest. The rating that this hotel misled me so I want to give real information. The location is good but loud. There is a bar and a restaurant next to the hotel in the alley and every night after dinner it got very loud until after midnight. The floors in the room levels has not been redone and they are so scarred (to be fair it’s antique tile) it’s hard to tell if they are clean. But the floor in my room was not clean. My feet were filthy the first night from walking barefoot to the.bathroom. The bathrooms are tiny. There was no maid service. If I wanted that I’d be at an Airbnb. Didn’t even ask to change my towels until I asked. The staff was all over the place. A few were nice but many were snarky and unfriendly. I will never stay here again.

No elevator and you are expected to carry up your own luggage. 3 or 4 floors Some of the front desk staff were rude and didn’t really want to help you. We asked about reserving a cab the night prior to leaving the next morning at 4:00 departure time. We were told someone would be available at 4 am to order cab for us. We found a sign stating staff was on a break and returning soon. They never did. Had to order an Uber. Left 30 min. late! Party on the street night before, so loud we couldn’t sleep. Would not recommend this Hotel!!!

Quality of room did not match the photos used to base booking decision on. Water temp and pressure were not consistent to be able to take a good shower. Everything that could be worn in was- towels, linens, mattress. Staff was wonderful, bar was nice, but the stay was a let down.
