"Our experience at this rental was disappointing from the start. Upon arrival, we had no check-in details and spent over an hour trying to reach the host. When we finally got into the room, we found it unclean—there was hair on the sheets, ants on the pillow, bugs on the walls, and a very dirty bathroom. Additionally, there was no hot water and very little water pressure, which was never mentioned in the listing.When I was finally able to speak with the host, she told me that she does not clean...

"Monkey Lala is a great place to stay if you want beachfront property in El Tunco. The rooms are well taken care of and the patio space is abundant. The only thing I would say is make sure you bring some earplugs or noise cancelling headphones as it gets quite loud on fridays and Saturdays with the discotec right next to the property. If you can get past that small thing, its totally worth the stay. Wonderful. "

"Not a hotel. 2 separate 'bungalows' with a common area kitchen, pool and palapa. We did not have a car but found a local in Playa El Tunco who knew the location and found us a driver. Could be a real challenge for first time arrivals (no sign). Spanish speaking caretakers live nearby eager to please. Bit of a hike to El Tunco, plus 100 or so steps to the bungalows. Very dark at night hiking from town. Would be better for small group self catering. Price too high for what you get."
