“A beautiful building. Comfortable bed and a great night's sleep. Spacious room with a lounge. Bathroom was big with a spacious deep bath, good shower unit lovely blue tiles. Our balcony had a view over St Theresa and down town Rio. Staff were very help when our WiFi was not working and I was using up all of my data allowance. The fault was fixed. A view of a variety of birds from our balcony, even marmasets. Room was clean. The neighbourhood vibrant, lively and lots of restaurants bars and……

“Die Vila Santa Teresa ist ein wunderschönes, kleines Boutique Hotel, dass sich anfühlt als wäre man bei Freunden zu Hause eingeladen (das Hotel hat nur 7 Zimmer - auf jeden Fall eins mit Blick auf die Stadt und den Zuckerhut buchen!). Die Aussicht auf Rio ist atemberaubend, das Essen ausgezeichnet und der Service hervorragend. “This is not a quiet hotel. It is more of a B&B. It is a beautiful place, and the art installations are really interesting. The furnishings in the room are really cool and funky. The neighborhood is very quaint, and the end is close to cafés and bars and galleries. That’s the good. There are no staff on site after the afternoon. One night there was no hot water. Their system usually depends on solar panels, but there had not been sun and somebody forgot to turn on the back up. The rooms……

“La situation n’est pas idéale car le quartier de Lapa est assez dangereux. La rue est très très bruyante toute la nuit. La literie est en mauvaise état et les sanitaires assez vieux… Un hôtel pour des jeunes qui veulent faire la fête mais pas pour des familles recherchant le confort.”

“Everything was perfect. Beautiful room. Claudio, Sophia and all the staff were extremely helpful, organising our trips and booking taxis and transfers for us. The breakfast was amazing, different every day. The hotel is an oasis in a busy city. Would definately recommend staying here”

“Very disappointed. The property itself is nice. The rooms have spider webs. The hot water is hit and miss. Some days you get it and other days you don't. Breakfast is skimpy at best. There are 80 steps I had to take with two 20 kg bags. That is just insane. They don't tell you that at the time of booking. Also, the description of the Azul room is incorrect on Expedia. This room is NOT 568 square feet. Expedia shows free breakfast but the hotel wants to charge you for breakfast. Overall I would……

“Did not like the area, several bad uber’s feedback, was not able to find transportation easily, terrible check in experience even though I did the pre-check in and showed up on time. Property is old but could look better. Maybe by having someone available they could have helped us and make the experience better. But definitely avoid, even more if its your first time or you travel with kids.”

“This was a great first stop in Brazil! There is nothing like starting your journey out in prayer and greatfulness on top of their private mountain with sugarloaf Christ the Redemeer and the other side of the city all within a turn. There are many reading nooks across the property to calm down after all your adventures. The entire was clean and the sheets even had a faint smell of bleach meaning you know you are in a good place. Even the matresses were clean. They have frozen meals for purchase……
