Quiet 1200 Sq Ft View Apartment, Near Beach
'Alki-Soundview' is located just 25 min. (15 miles) from SeaTac Int'l Airport and 20-30 min. (7 miles by car) from downtown Seattle. Guests will enjoy the wonderful views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains from your well-appointed, garden level apartment (1200 sq feet) on Genesee Hill in West Seattle.
This private apartment has one bedroom with a queen-sized bed, one bathroom with a large tile shower (no tub). The apartment can accommodate five people. Additional, sleeping beds are fold out beds. We charge $15 per person per night for guests after the first two.
The large, fully furnished kitchen includes all major appliances and a microwave, coffeemaker and toaster. Parking is available on the dead-end street beside the apartment. We list exclusively on VRBO/Homeaway and affiliates. If you find this listing on Craigslist, it is fraudulent.
Relax outside in your private covered entrance area with your favorite beverage and enjoy the view over Alki Beach/Point, Puget Sound, the Olympic Mountains and Islands.
'Alki-Soundview' is a perfect home- base with which to explore the Greater Seattle area. Walk down the hill to Alki Beach (.7 mi.) for picnicking, biking, tennis, pickleball, beach volleyball and walking or jogging several miles of beach walk, exploring and enjoying water-oriented activities.
Good public bus transport, walk-on Water taxi to downtown, and WA State Ferries to Vashon Island and Kitsap Peninsula, afford you the opportunity to access all the entertainment, and sights of interest of the region. Also consider using Uber or Lyft which are readily available plus bike sharing services. There are lots of places to see: Seattle Center (Space Needle, Science Center, Museum of Pop Culture), Pike Place Market, the Central Waterfront Park and the sights there, Pioneer Square, Seattle Downtown, Capitol Hill, University of Washington, Boeing Tours, Museum of Flight, a fine assortment of museums and Pro Sports and Performing Arts.
A note about Seattle taxes: we are disappointed to report that starting in 2019 the City has imposed a 15.7% tax vacation rentals less than 30 days long. If you are planning a long visit, you might save a lot by staying 30 days or more.

This was an amazing place to stay! West Seattle was an adorable place. The view from the house was amazing. We enjoyed a short walk to the beach where we enjoyed several delicious meals at different places. The thoughtfulness of all the little touches throughout the house was amazing. There were motion sensing night lights, two stand alone fans, extra pillows and blankets, coffee, tea, filtered water…and the water pressure in the shower…amazing!!!! The owners were very nice, kind and great with communication. This was a wonderful experience!

The apartment is like a home. It is comfortable, beautifully maintained and exhibited a clear attention to detail. The views are amazing and the gardens and fountain that surround the property show a love of gardening and, again, attention to detail. I am a senior citizen with some mobility issues. I contacted the owners about ease of access and received an almost immediate answer from Kathryn identifying the way to get to the apartment without having to climb stairs. I look forward to staying with Kathryn and John in the future. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay.

This place is amazing. The views are phenomenal. The house is immaculate. Everything we needed was there. We loved the location. It is close to Seattle but far enough away to feel relaxed. The drive to everything we wanted to do was easy. We didn't try the water taxi because the times didn't work but that was okay. We did walk to the beach and found a nice nature reserve park to walk though on the way back. The house sits on a steep hill so we did drive down a few times instead of making the climb back up.Check in was easy and the host accommodated our flight times, which was super nice. Parking was easy also and we could see the car from the windows which I liked.Also within a short drive were restaurants, a winery, breweries and a few cute shops.This was a perfect stay!

Gorgeous place and view. Gracious hosts like the owners make the place even more desirable. We spent several evenings sitting in the front porch area, basking in the evening sun. Not very hot all (we are Floridians).Definitely need a car and enhanced driving skills. Lots of hills and narrow streets with parked cars to contend with. A couple of miles from the apartment, all around really. That is Seattle.

The property has a great location and nice views. Directions from owner were helpful and clear. The apartment was a perfect size for a couple.The amenities were just ok. The apartment is dated and seemed somewhat dingy. We found a stain on one of the living room pillows that seemed to be some sort of body fluid, we found a couple if pieces of candy on the bedroom floor when we arrived, the extra blankets were wool, stiff and had a smell. The pillows were very worn and not comfortable. The two cooking knives were very dull, unable to use for cutting food.Additionally, the owner came to meet us and made a negative comment about the governor of the state we are from. I was taken aback at the inappropriateness of the comment and assumption she made about how her comment would be received. I have never had a rental property owner make any political statement to me and I have never discussed politics with a property owner in the course of renting a vacation property. It was in bad taste and not appropriate. We would not rent this property in the future.

Lovely stay!
Our stay in West Seattle was lovely. The apartment was in a great location and our first morning there we took a walk to the beach. The apt. was clean, quiet, and serene. The hosts had many extra amenities for their guests which was greatly appreciated. We would definitely stay here again. Five stars for certain!!

Ahhhmazing! The apartment is the perfect home away from home. A work conference brought me to the Seattle area, and I am so happy to have found this location.
