Fantastic stay
Cain Lake Lodge was a fantastic home in a beautiful location. The home is well cared for with all the needed amenities. We loved the lake and enjoyed the hot tub and fireplace during a short fall get away. We loved this place and will hope to stay here again in the future.
We often rent a property for Easter so that we can share time and space with our family. We like the Bellingham area and this house was perfect for our activities. Very comfortable and in a beautiful location on a small lake. I am glad to recommend it!
Kayaking on Cain lake is lovely and essentially has zero wake - good for beginner kayakers. Kitchen is well equipped. Koi pond is fun to watch. Laundry washer is mega-sized. Ample parking. Couch is nice and big for family hang outs. We had a great stay. Especially good location if you are planning to hop to Vancouver during your stay.

The best stay EVER!
I was expecting good things from reading the reviews for this place, but it exceeded all of our expectations! The house is in a beautiful quiet and peaceful setting, with stunning views of the lake. We loved using the kayaks and rowing boat, followed by a dip in the lake and the hot tub. The place was spotless and felt very homely, and the beds were like sleeping on a cloud. Plenty of space and amazing amenities, we will be back! Also loved the text check-ins about our stay in the lead up and post check-out, very helpful! Thanks so much :)

Amazing
Well we actually live on Cain lake. My daughter got married and her reception was at the clubhouse. We gave our house to our daughter our house and my other daughter and son in law and 2 grandsons stayed at the Cain lake lodge. The lodge is enormous and comfortable wit a million dollar view of Cain lake which is magical to me. Our stay was memorable and we will talk about it for years to come. Thank you
Peaceful, clean, spacious home. Loved the hot tub, the fire pit, the koi pond and the super comfy beds. It felt like we often had the lake all to ourselves with an occasional kayaker or fisherman.

April weekend
We spent three nights at the house and had an amazing time! The place was beautiful and well stocked.
Amazing views of the lake from within the living quarters as well as outside with private access to the water. 2 floors of bedroom accommodations allowed for easy access and never felt crowded. Nice to have room to do many activities at one time . We cooked for the team one night - with ease with a well laid out kitchen and appliances.Well stocked kitchen for cooking for a few or a crowd. Plentiful outdoor seating all with a view! Enough linens, pillows and towels ! Thank you for making the ultimate frisbee finals rewarding !
This property is just as pictured. Private access to a beautiful, small lake. Gorgeous grounds. Well-appointed house with all amenities.
We would love to come back when the weather is warmer and we can play in the lake. But just sitting on the deck watching the fish jump was wonderful.

Cain Lake House
The house was amazing: beautiful, well stocked, and convenient for my son’s wedding at Carson Creek.
My only complaint is with Vacasa, which blocks direct access to the owners when you have a simple question and have to wait for a multi-step process to get an answer.
Beautiful spot, perfect for our family. More communication please.
The house and lake were great! It was beautiful and perfect for our family. There is no information about how anything works in the house (trash, laundry, heat, etc) which is unusual for a rental. There should at least be a welcome letter with some information if not a binder with lots of details. Also, while we were there I saw a review that said the microwave and the upstairs dryer didn't work for them and they still didn't work for us, but no one let us know so that was frustrating after waiting hours for towels to dry and trying everything to make the microwave work. More communication upfront would have easily solved these frustrations, but the house itself is lovely.
Lovely quiet location. No need to deal with property manager so NA on communications. FYI - gate sign was hanging by a single screw when we arrived so needs fixing. Also we washed dishes on counter. Couldn’t start dishwasher because not enough tabs for the entire stay given our group size. Thanks!
This property is truly impressive! The beds are super comfortable, the kitchen well stocked with everything you could need to cook and the open layout in the living area is great for all ages. The slope down to the water is very steep. It does not look that steep I. The pictures but once you are down the water is perfect, the dock well done and the bonus is there is no motorized anything on the lake. Very peaceful. When I asked about getting more toilet paper the answer was no. We were left with 3 rolls for 8 people for 3 days… There is shampoo, conditioner and body wash available in each bathroom. Spacious tubs and a shower that you can be sprayed in every direction! Plenty of parking for multiple cars and the Koi pond is very nice to go wake up and have a cup of coffee by. Would highly recommend for multiple families but bring extra toilet paper!

Liked: Cleanliness, location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Communication
We were immediately wowed by the stunning view upon walking into the home. The house is spacious and the view is beautiful. The path down to the dock and lake is well maintained and very pretty. We loved having access to two kayaks and the private dock. There was a ton of seating both on the upper deck, the lower deck and down by the dock as well as on the dock. Only thing missing was some loungers and chairs that were padded on the upper deck and sunbrellas. The lake is quiet and perfect for swimming. We brought floaties and made full use of them. We loved watching all the floating docks puttering around the lake.It is important to note that the walkway to the dock/lake is steep so this is not ideal for the elderly or those with balance/walking issues. Our 89 year old Mom was able to enjoy the view from the upper deck though. We made use of one of the fire pits (bring your own wood) as well as the hot tub which was well maintained, clean, and a great temp. There were plenty of lake/hot tub towels and the view from the tub was great and it was private and well screened from the next door neighbors. The bedding was very comfortable and everything was very clean. Couple small annoyances was trying to figure out the door lock upon arriving, spending time trying to figure out the AC, no check out instructions, non-functioning microwave and a dryer that wasn’t working which Vacasa was aware of before our arrival. There is another dryer downstairs. We would return.

Unbeatable view and we would return
Upon entering the house we were so taken aback by the incredible view! The pictures do not do this place justice.
The house was very clean and the landscaping was well maintained and very pretty. The lake access was great and the lake itself was amazing. Quiet, calm, and we really enjoyed watching everyone motor around on their floating patios. It was so nice to be on a lake without power boats, skidoos and loud people. The lake was quite warm which was surprise given that we stayed during the first week of June. We used our floaties and enjoyed the amazing weather.
We loved having access to the boats, having lots of lake towels, and enjoyed the fire pit and hot tub. We have never had good luck with homes that offer hot tubs so we were very pleased that it was hot, clean, and well maintained.
The beds were comfortable, we had plenty of bath towels and the kitchen was stocked with enough dishes and flatware to accommodate our group of seven. The second fridge downstairs also came in very handy.
There were a few glitches like trying to figure out the front door lock and the AC. It would have been nice to have instructions on those. The microwave didn’t work at all and the upstairs dryer didn’t either which apparently VACASA knew about before our arrival. Instructions on what to do at checkout would have also been appreciated.
If you have people who are elderly or have issues with balance or walking, this might not be the house for you. The path to the lake/dick is steep (but well maintained). Our 89 mother was able to enjoy the view from the upper deck though.
Overall we enjoyed the house, the lake, and the view and would stay again.

1 week summer stay at the lodge
My family and I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Cain Lake Lodge for a week, and it was a truly memorable experience.
One of the highlights of our stay were the fantastic toddler amenities. Traveling with a little one can sometimes be challenging, but the Cain Lake Lodge had plenty of toys and books available to keep our little one entertained, which was a thoughtful touch.
The views from the Cain Lake Lodge were absolutely breathtaking. The back of the house overlooks the lake which is visited daily by Osprey hunting for fish. We were even lucky enough to spot a pair of Bald Eagles in the nearby canopy. It was a treat to relax on our private balcony and soak in the beauty of the surrounding nature. We loved swimming in the lake, relaxing in the hottub and taking turns going on short kayak trips on the lake. Initially, the paddles were nowhere to be found, but fortunately a Vacasa rep was able to swing by the house to retrieve them for us from the locked storage shed. This was my first time booking with Vacasa, communicating via text went smoothly.
The house itself was well-maintained and comfortable. The rooms were spacious, providing a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The kitchen was fully equipped with all the necessary appliances and utensils, allowing us to prepare meals for our family without any hassle. We did quickly run out of the essentials (coffee filter, dishwasher tablet, toilet paper), it would have been nice if bit more would have been provided give the price for this rental.
Overall, our week-long stay at the Bakehouse was a delightful experience. We highly recommend the Bakehouse to anyone looking for a peaceful and family-friendly retreat.
