We stayed here for two nights. This was the last stop on our Golden Circle adventure. Check in was easy and we were able to park in a parking lot behind the hotel. The room was very clean and had modern decor. Our beds were to our liking and we slept well. We especially liked the towel warming rack in the bathroom. But I will write that our room faced the main street running through Selfoss. On our first night, Saturday, we were woken up in the middle of the night by rowdy yelling and laughing coming from the sidewalk in front of our hotel. It didn't last more than 10 minutes and we were able to go back to sleep with no more noise. Sunday night was peaceful.
Breakfast was included in our stay and we took full advantage of it. It had a good assortment of items and we were satisfied with the selection. Our one criticism, was the area around the breakfast buffet was cramped and made it hard to maneuver with a plate full of food. The first morning we were there, the floor was sticky, probably from someone bumping against another diner with a glass of orange juice.
The hotel is about two blocks from restaurants and some shops in an area that the town is renovating called,The New Selfoss Center. Phase one has been completed and they are keeping the design to a traditional Icelandic look. We ate in a bustling food court inside a nicely renovated old dairy barn, Phase II will be completed in 2028. This will be a quaint place to shop and eat.
Overall, a good stay.
