Needs Improvements to Match Expectations

The photos of the property are somewhat misleading. The deck photos show six chairs, but in reality, there were only a few—definitely not enough seating for a family of four to enjoy time outside.The upstairs main bedroom had only one AC vent and it struggled to keep the room cool. There were no dressers or closets available to store clothes. The downstairs bedroom had a very small closet, approximately 2 feet wide by 1 foot deep, and there were no clothes hangers provided. Even if there had been hangers, you wouldn't have been able to close the closet door. Be prepared to live out of your suitcase.Neither bedroom had any seating other than the beds. Linens were limited—only a small number of towels and washcloths were provided.The driveway had a tree at the entrance that scraped across the top of our vehicle, which could be a concern for taller cars or SUVs.Photos also showed an outdoor grill, but there was none on the property. The upstairs TV could not connect to Wi-Fi and had only an old DVD player attached—so bring your own DVDs if you want to watch anything.Overall, I would recommend considering other accommodations.

Nice get away

Nice get away for my husband and I. The driveway is pretty steep which I didn't know before hand but I may have over looked it. When we got there the hot tub was off and the maintenance contacted us quickly to turn it on. The only thing I did not like was that the Air only goes down to 68 and then the house is hot it it hot.

Great stay

Home was just as described in the listing. Very clean and plenty of towels and rags. Travel sized soaps/ dishwasher detergent and laundry detergent was appreciated, although i had packed these items as well. We would definitely stay here again. To avoid having to go past the home and turn around to enter the drive way; instead of continuing down silver poplar ln, make a left on sky lodge ln then make a right onto silver poplar ln- the home will be on your right and you can pull right in.

Terrible Experience

Here is how i would like to summarize my stay and aware anyone who is booking this cabin next. 1) It took me 45 min to get inside the cabin as the code did not work and had to work with physical key. Support team could'nt help. 2) The cleaning was terrible, the sofa smells like urine and front and back yard were like never cleaned for months. 3) The listing says king bedroom has a futon but it wasnt there and the vacasa managing team could resolve it. Kids has bad time sleeping well. 4) Listing show picture of barbecue grill but there is none. 5) First floor washroom doesnt lock from inside, Broken and chipped glasses and plates. 6) Only 4 cups, 4 glasses, so carry some with you. 7) No help from support team as no one showed up or called me back after i reported all these issues.

Do not rent

This cabin was filthy and half of everything was broken. The hot tub and jacuzzi were both broken which was a huge part of why I booked this location. The driveway is almost impossible to get up and down, especially at night because it is not lit

Rustic with a steep driveway

This cabin is very cozy and we enjoyed our stay here for 3 days! There are things that need improvement, especially for the price you pay to stay. The cabin needs a deep cleaning inside and out, also, the pullout sofa and the futon need to be replaced! The futon is broken and both are very dirty. When we opened the sofa bed there were mouse droppings on the mattress we had to clean. For the price we paid it should have been clean, with linens, pillows and blankets for the extra beds they listed in the description (pull-out sofa and futon). There are no extra pillows or blanets for these extra beds! We went out and purchased blankets for the kids. I informed Vacasa, they were very helpful and delivered extra linens and 2 blankets the following day after we checked in. We just put pillow cases over the small couch cushions to use for pillows. Upstairs, in the master suite, the tv does not have anything but a very old dvd player that we had to keep blowing into to get to work, and a few dvds to watch, we were not expecting that. Some of the positive things about the cabin was the gas fireplace, the hot tub and location. I think we should be refunded some of the money we paid for the cleaning 😏

Close to all locations

The driveway is as steep as all the previous reviews state. 4×4 is preferable since at some point one of the cars struggled on the drive up. There's a nail sticking out of the living room floor. The futon needs updating since it's sunken in. The cookware needs updating as well. It's difficult to cook with pans that don't have a handle. The windows have a lot of spider webs on the outside. It is in between both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge which is ideal.

Could use a deep cleaning w/windows & dusting but overall not too bad

I’m not one to complain unless things are drastic but since I’m being honest there were a few things that could definitely use improvement. We couldn’t watch TV the whole time we were there due to the fact there wasn’t any remote batteries and when we scrounged some up we couldn’t get the TV to go onto a station. It wasn’t that bad though because we spent more time together without the TV for two days but the TV still should’ve been easily accessible. Underneath the bed upstairs looked very dusty and the windows could use a cleaning throughout the cabin, with all the cobwebs and film on them they weren’t as nice to look out of. Underneath the porch outside the front entrance area had a bunch of junk under it and a few pieces of trash on the property as well but overall it wasn’t that bad and at least the bathrooms, kitchen looked clean. The coffee table we noticed was broke when we tried to unfold it and bring it closer to the couch. Also,some of the decor/furniture could use updating but I understand this is a rental and the chances of keeping it nice from all the heavy traffic would be difficult. So my main complaint would be dirty windows and a few needed commodities such as there should be a Keurig coffee pot versus the old fashioned type that was there. I forgot to mention the hot tub should get at least 10° hotter than it did, but overall it was a nice getaway for the weekend & the driveway wasn’t as bad as I expected w/some of the reviews I’d read prior to our stay.

Great cabin for the price

We came all the way from Louisiana to enjoy a family vacation together in Tennessee and we were not disappointed with this cabin rental. We enjoyed our stay. It’s a cute cabin for the price and it definitely has the mountain cabin experience. Shortly after we arrived, we noticed that the upstairs bathroom was clogged up and wouldn’t drain. I contacted Vacasa maintenance that night and they came the very next morning and had it fixed and even cleaned the down stairs drains too. So we were very impressed with how fast they came to help with the problem. We really enjoyed our stay here in Hillybills Hideout. P.S. they do say in the description that the driveway to the cabin is a little steep and has a curve to it so be sure to have a 4 wheel drive vehicle or at least good tires with traction.

Cool location, nice cabin.

The property is nice, the driveway is very steep, you will need an All Wheel Drive to get up it. The cabin is in good shape, the pool table could use some TLC and the dish washer was i. Rough shape, but all in all it was a nice cabin. The kids loved the outside hot tub and the wife and I liked the upstairs private room with jacuzzi tub.

Beautiful view with issues!

I would like to state that this cabin has a beautiful view. However, it is VERY difficult to get to. The road up to the cabin is extremely steep and I would not recommend this unless you have the vehicle to get up a very steep driveway. I would also not recommend a large vehicle. And no way would I recommend this in the winter. Our car slid with a little bit of rain! Also, the roadway to get to this cabin is very narrow and you feel like you are about to go over the side at any moment. I am very serious. But it is a beautiful drive! We went in the fall and the leaves were amazing! As for the cabin itself.....it was very dusty and needed a very good cleaning. This cabin is very nice but whoever cleans it needs to do a better job or they need to find someone else. I truly don't like to leave bad reviews but sometimes owners need to know what is happening with their property. This cabin has the potential to be amazing if it is cleaned properly.

Everything was nice & we enjoyed our stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The location is between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge making it very convenient for us. The cabin was very clean and roomy for our family.

Do not stay here

I do not recommend this property. First night no power upstairs at all so it was pitch black .. someone came next day and fixed the lightning. But still couldn’t use tv durning entire stay because electricity alone the wall didn’t work I assume. Upstairs hall way electrical doesn’t work either . Hot tub DO NOT WORK . Tv in second bedroom serves no purpose because it’s not a smart tv so wasn’t no DVD player in the room nor no remote. Sofa and rugs could use a deep cleaning . Futon upstairs needs to be replaced alone with the broken dresser. . If planning to stay more than one night bring your own washing detergent. They don’t provide cleaning supplies for bathroom with your stay . No hand soap in bathrooms . Outside around cabin could definitely use some tidying up…only good thing was the beds was comfortable. One of the worst cabins I’ve stayed in .

Holly Bill’s Hideout

The cabin was wonderful! The master bedroom was relaxing and I loved all the windows. We stayed at the cabin an entire day instead of going out. We could not find remote controls for either bedrooms TVs. It would have been nice to lay in bed and watch TV before going to bed. The floor to the cabin could use some TLC but didn’t take away from the beauty or our enjoyment. It needs to be mentioned that the drive way up to the cabin is very, very steep. When there is snow on the ground, you will need a 4 x 4 to get to the cabin.

2 Night stay

The homes driveway is crazy steep. The inside has been maintained but the outside needs alot. Front steps are rotten, had to use the ramp.....and the ramp hand rail is also rotten. Never used the hot tub....the supports holding it up are completely unsafe. 2 are bowing and one is already beginning to split. We didn't use the decks either because of this. Someone needs to address the structural issues before you rent again. I have a photo of the deck support if you want it.
