Keep your camera at the ready. Everywhere you look is photogenic. There are many hills to contend with should you stray off the beaten path. Absolutely stunning views of the city from the Tower of Mangia (not for those afraid of heights).

"We stayed here Aug 2025, coming in from Florence. Siena is absolutely gorgeous and Hotel Athena was the perfect hotel to explore the area. The hotel itself was very nice, updated, good sized rooms with nice bathroom. Tea kettle in the room and water in the fridge (at no extra cost) was appreciated after long days on the hills of the town. We dined at the rooftop restaurant twice and the food was excellent, views were unbelievable. As to the hotel staff- I can’t give them enough stars! The front desk staff were so welcoming and helped us arrange a day tour, figure out our return to the train station etc. The restaurant staff was also very good and always checked on us. Oh- the breakfast buffet can’t be missed. Well worth it and no extra charge. Excellent hotel- highly recommend "
