Silverton Hillside Cottage is the perfect place to get away and relax. From sitting on the deck in the large and lush yard to relaxing with a book by the pellet stove or escaping reality in the original claw foot tub you will be glad you chose to stay at our home. Please note we are not on OHV route, more info below.
With 3 bedrooms, a sun-room with futon and a pull out sofa in the living room this home can sleep up to 9 guests very comfortably.
Upstairs the private main bedroom is very roomy with a brand new king pillowtop mattress, down duvet and comfy 400 thread count sheets. Featuring a skylight and large windows with breathtaking views this room is spectacular. There is a pack in play for infants if needed.
The second private upstairs bedroom is a true mountain getaway with its floor to ceiling mountain mural. The room features a brand new queen pillow top mattress, down duvet and 400 thread count sheets. Views of the hillside to Anvil mountain are super relaxing.
You will find a bathroom with shower upstairs as well as a small work area with antique desk.
Downstairs you will find the third private bedroom with a twin bed featuring a brand new comfy mattress and down comforter with silky sateen sheets. Probably one of the most unique features of the home is found here. This room is wallpapered with historic newsprint from the Silverton Standard dating back to the 1980s.
The large downstairs bathroom features the original claw foot tub and shower.
You will find the kitchen to be fully equipped with everything you need to whip up a meal. Appliances include a gas range, full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, toaster oven, crock pot and blender. The view from the kitchen window is enough to make you want to cook while on vacation, lol.
In the dining room the large farm house table and benches can seat up to 8 or 9. The bay window has outstanding mountain views to help you relax. There is also a pellet stove to keep things nice and toasty on those cold winter days or summer nights.
Is a house really complete without coffee?? We have a full coffee bar set up with a standard drip coffee pot as well as a Keurig. Kcups, coffee and hot chocolate are included with your stay.
In the living room you will find a 46” SMART TV as well as a DVD/blue ray player and Wi-Fi. You will find family games in the drawers under the TV and movies to enjoy under the coffee table. The views from this room just like everywhere else are remarkable. All of the furniture is brand new and comfortable to relax in after a long day of jeep trails, train rides or just discovering Silverton and the surrounding area. The couch features a pull out queen bed with upgraded mattress.
In the back of the home you will find a relaxing sun-room that accesses the back deck and has ample areas to hang your coats, take off your shoes, etc. As well, their is a twin size daybed.
There is also a new stackable full-size washer and two dryers available for use.
Although the house is awesome and very cozy, the home is known for its outdoor area with a lush lawn, beautiful flowers, 360 views and wonderful solar gain. Enjoy your coffee or dinner on the large deck and just breath in that fresh Colorado air. You will find yourself spending as much time in the yard as in the house. You can literally walk out the back gate from the house up to the Miners Shrine or it's only a 5-minute walk to historic downtown Silverton.
Come see for yourself. We would love to have you as a guest.

Great stay in this cute house. Great location in Silverton, hosts were very responsive, accommodating and responsive/helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
We loved this house! Lots of space for our family, and our dog loved the yard. The kitchen was fully stocked as were the bathrooms. The location was perfect to walk to town, and the views are amazing. Would definitely stay again, thank you!
We really enjoyed our time spent at this property. Excellent location, rooms and bathrooms were perfect, and we loved the big table (where we shared all our meals). I highly recommend this home! We will stay here again
We had a wonderful time in Silverton. The yard is perfect for your furry friend and the location is great. The home was clean, had everything you could ever want, and was a great base for our adventures.
The property was cleaned, well maintained (updated since my first stay), neighborhood was peaceful, and communication with the property manager(s) was smooth.
The property truly allows you to feel at home!
Spent only a short time here as we explored Silverton before heading into the Weminuche, but the property was excellent. Well appointed, comfortable, warm, & well layed out. Will definitely check for availability next time I come out to visit.
The house worked out perfectly for our needs. Plenty of street parking for two 20’ trailers. The house has several perks including Gas grill, outdoor games for the kids, stocked pantries with all the essentials, and multiple sleeping amenities. Best place to stay so far.
We stay here every year when we go to Silverton. We really appreciate the new king sized bed in the master bedroom. It’s very close to the main part of town but is quiet. There’s a nice yard to relax in. The house is always clean and well supplied.
This property is the complete experience. Everything you could want in a kitchen, games, guide books, snow toys, fenced yard. We felt like we lived there.
Probably the best vacation experience we’ve had.
We enjoyed our stay in this cozy house. It had everything we could possibly need. It was clean and comfortable and in a quiet area. We had plenty of room for our pickup and trailer to park. The fan in the bedroom upstairs was wonderful. We enjoyed reading about the history of the house and area in the book in the living room. The house had comfortable furnishings and plenty of light. It was everything as advertised. We would gladly stay here again when we are in the area.
Silverton Hillside Cottage was a perfect accommodation for our father / 2 adult sons ski trip. Beautifully decorated quaint cottage but with all the modern conveniences. The thread count on the sheets must have been like one million. Clean, comfortable beds, kitchen was stocked with olive oil, ketchup, honey, coffee, all the spices, etc. Quiet setting, jaw dropping views. Short walk to main street. Property manager/owner Karen was responsive and accommodating of late check out when I tweaked my knee and needed a place to chill while sons skied. 100% we would go back again.
We very much liked the location of the property in relation to the downtown area. It is about a 5 minute walk - the blocks are relatively short in Silverton. There is a park nearby with a great walking path. The home has most conveniences, and is in a very quiet area of town. The yard is fenced, but a smaller dog might slip through the front fence. We enjoyed our stay, and felt that the property is clean, and well maintained.
As with most older homes, there are some older features along with the floor plan. The stairway to the upper story is narrow, and a bit creaky.
Otherwise, we had a comfortable stay, and the location was convenient for dining, sightseeing, and walking about town. We were able to do and see a lot!
The property manager was very prompt and responsive on the one question that we had.
Incredible Stay with Unforgettable Views and a Surprise Visitor!
We recently had the pleasure of staying at an adorable home in Silverton, Colorado, and it was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the breathtaking views that seemed to stretch on forever. The home itself was beautifully appointed, with every detail meticulously considered to ensure a comfortable stay.
The highlight of our trip, however, was the unexpected and exhilarating encounter with a local bear that decided to pay us a visit. It was a rare and thrilling experience that added a unique touch to our stay. We watched from a safe distance as the bear ambled through the streets, making our time there even more memorable.
The home was perfect for our needs, providing both relaxation and adventure in equal measure. The serene setting and magnificent scenery made it an ideal retreat, and the wildlife encounter was just the icing on the cake. If you’re looking for a memorable getaway that combines stunning natural beauty with a touch of excitement, this place is an absolute gem!
Highly recommended for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the natural wonders of Silverton!
The house has a lot of character and we loved being able to spend time in the yard. There were thoughtful touches around the house that made our stay very enjoyable.
We had a wonderful time in Silverton at the Silverton Hillside home. It had a well equipped kitchen, wonderful deck for evening visits and extremely comfortable beds. Thank you for the hospitality!
