"The property was fine, more targeted at longer term stays. A bit tired but clean enough. Felt safe enough for me on my own, shower was hot, didn't notice too much road noise. Overall it was fine for a place to sleep in an otherwise extortionate city! Very handy for train and tram."

The staff was extremely helpful and even helped us make a taxi reservation for the next morning. The interior design and decor is super clean and tasteful. "Another fan or a/c would have been really nice, but all in all it was good. Great location and cute apartment with most everything one needs when travelling. Would stay there again! 😁"

Would definitely recommend!

"I highly recommend that everyone should look beyond the big expensive city of Basel and look into Germany for accommodations. Although this hotel had slightly outdated décor, one can see that this hotel, and it's staff, have a lot of pride in their work place, and they offer great service. My room was spotless, had all the necessities except for air conditioning but thankfully, it was a cool enough night that it wasn't necessary. The hotel offered a plentiful and fresh breakfast buffet that was fit for a king. Everything was wonderful at the Carathotel. I really commend the staff that was very welcoming."
