  • The 80-sq.m windmill lies in a 12.000-sq.m garden overlooking Sitia Bay.

    The fully furnished rental features a reception area with a fireplace, a fully fitted eat-in kitchen, a bedroom with two single beds and a fitted wardrobe, a wooden mezzanine level with a double bed, a cupboard, a bathroom with a shower, and a laundry room. The house is entirely air-conditioned.

    The white stone courtyard offers outdoor garden furniture and a round coffee table made from an old millstone from a windmill.

    An olive grove, a vineyard, a vegetable garden, and 30-year-old pines surround the house.

    The property is 5 kilometres from the town of Sitia and the local airport. The beach is 350 metres away. The local beach is 4 km away, while there are other stunning beaches are a 20 to 40-minute drive away.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay here. The property is only 10 minutes from the Sitia harbour and a great launching spot for day trips. The hosts are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The sunset views are beautiful and the house itself is absolutely adorable.

This is a really wonderful and unique place to stay in Crete. It was such a lovely feeling to be waking up in an elegant windmill! It is well equipped and comfortable with everything you need for a holiday. The grounds are superb with outdoor space for sitting and eating, and flowers in the extensive gardens. We enjoyed trips to the beach at Vai and Itanos as well as a visit to the monastery at Toplou, and would also recommend the local restaurant in Agio Fotia, Dionysos. The welcome in Crete is outstanding and our visit was everything we hoped it would be.

Wir haben uns vom ersten Moment an sehr wohl und zuhause gefühlt. Die Unterkunft bietet alles, was man für einen entspannten Urlaub braucht. Die Mühle selbst, wie der umgebende Garten werden durch die Vermieter liebevoll gepflegt. Die Besitzerin Katharina war bei Fragen immer präsent und unterstützte uns in allen Bereichen. Wir haben ihre Gastfreundschaft sehr geschätzt und würden die Mühle jederzeit wieder buchen.

Un tres bon moment passé en famille a Sitia. L’hébergement est en tous points conforme a l’annonce et est un havre de paix où il fait bon séjourner. Lovely restored windmill with seaview

We had a fantastic stay at this exceptional place. The Mill offers everything You need for some relaxed days, huge terrace with seaview and even a hammock. Very friendly and helpful hosts! Perfect location to explore the eastern part of Crete.

great stay

Lovely house, actually an old windmill done up very nicely. The garden is great, with a swing and climbing trees for the kids, and fresh lemons right from the orchard! Very nice people, checkin and checkout with no hassle. They even made us some cakes :)

Schönes Ambiente in toller Lage

Nous avons passés 3 jours au moulin, c'est un endroit idyllique.L'intérieur, plutôt rustique, nous rappelle que nous sommes dans un moulin, mais rien ne manque.- Une piscine serais appréciable.

Magnifique séjour chez Pantelis , formidablement accueillis par Lefteris et son épouse , aux petits soins avec nous , plein de bons conseils pour des balades et des conversations intéressantes , drôles , inoubliables ! Wir hatten einen fantastischen Urlaub in dieser wunderschönen, authentischen Windmühle auf Kreta. Die Mühle ist mit unglaublich viel Liebe zum Detail gestaltet – jeden Tag haben wir neue, schöne Kleinigkeiten entdeckt. Man merkt sofort, wie viel Herzblut in diesem besonderen Ferienhaus steckt.Für uns vier war die Größe vollkommen ausreichend, und die bequemen Betten haben für einen erholsamen Schlaf gesorgt. Besonders genossen haben wir die traumhaften Sonnenuntergänge, die den Aufenthalt unvergesslich gemacht haben.Die Lage ist ideal für Ausflüge nach Palekastro und zum traumhaften Vai-Strand. Sitia ist mit dem Auto in nur etwa fünf Minuten zu erreichen. Der Strand von Sitia ist wunderschön und bietet alles, was man für einen entspannten Tag am Meer braucht.Die Kommunikation mit Pantelis war von Anfang an hervorragend. Schon vor unserer Anreise haben wir eine detaillierte Wegbeschreibung und alle wichtigen Informationen erhalten. Nach einer Woche wurden sogar die Bettwäsche und Handtücher gewechselt und das Haus gründlich gereinigt – vielen Dank für diesen tollen Service!Ein ganz besonderes Dankeschön geht an Kate, die uns herzlich empfangen hat. Sie war jederzeit erreichbar, wenn wir Fragen hatten oder etwas brauchten, und hat sich wunderbar um uns gekümmert.Liebe Kate, lieber Pantelis, vielen Dank für eure herzliche Gastfreundschaft und dafür, dass ihr unseren Aufenthalt so besonders gemacht habt. Wonderful holydays !

3 months in this beautiful mill were really fantastic ! We enjoyed everything and were spécially happy about the situation, the quality and the originality of the spot. Great period, still fresh and often we were the only strange strangers ! We made a warm fire everyday and had great instructive conversations with Lefteris and Kate. Unforgetable holydays and we recomand absolutely !

Séjour fantastique dans un lieu exceptionnel

nous avons passé 6 jours reposants dans le moulin. La décoration est soignée, l'endroit très propre et bien aménagé. Le papa du propriétaire habite derrière le moulin et est disponible pour donner beaucoup d'information sur les endroits à visiter , la crète et ses coutumes. C'est un endroit un peu hors du temps, à 10mn en voiture de Sitia . Nous recommandons aux amoureux d'authenticité...

Perfect stay at a perfect property

The Anomemili rental is on a beautiful estate with a view of the ocean. It was comfortable, the hosts were caring and fixed anything that needed fixing right away. I was welcomed by Lefetris and Despina with cookies and they checked in periodically to see I had no problems. The place itself is immaculate with a weekly cleaner. The grounds are a delight. In short, I will probably go back because it was a perfect place.

A Charming Crete Windmill Getaway

Our family recently enjoyed a week at a delightful windmill property near Sitia, and it was an enchanting experience. The windmill seamlessly combined modern comfort with traditional charm, offering a cozy and well-equipped retreat. The host's warm hospitality was a highlight, with fresh garden produce adding an authentic touch to our meals. Surrounded by the beauty of Crete and view to the sea. Our children loved the unique setting, where they could explore and take care of the property's cats. In summary, our week was a magical escape, offering an authentic and memorable family vacation. Highly recommended!

Windmill holiday great experience

A very unusual and quirky place to stay, it has been converted to a comfortable holiday home on a number of levels ( so you need to have full mobility). Our host was very warm and welcoming and we had some very interesting conversations. the beds were very comfortable , the kitchen was well equipped too. It was a peaceful location set in beautiful gardens off the main road but it was very easy to visit the next village of Palekastro for shopping and eating in the tavernas. Not far into Siteia if you want a busier place. The courtyard is a lovely place to sit to take in the atmosphere. We would recommend for couples and small groups. If you enjoy touring and exploring there are some lovely beaches within 20 to 50 minutes drives depending on your choices. If you like quiet and peaceful beaches try Itanos and Xerocampos. A great holiday, will return.

A slice of heaven

Three friends and myself stayed at the Windmill at Anemomili for five nights. We loved the drive up to Sitia that grew more and more wild and beautiful. The windmill is magical. Extremely comfortable and put together with so much care, artistry and love. The hosts were proactive and keen to ensure that we had a good time, giving us a lot of ideas of what to do. We had some beautiful beach days (Vai and Itanos are fabulous), and also visited Toplou monastery and some of the archeological sites. We loved a supper at Retro in Palekastro - great local food at reasonable prices. We also cooked in a lot and the kitchen was easy to use and had everything we needed. There is no shop/mini market in Agria Fotia so you must do your food shopping in Sitia or Palekastro. That side of the coast is quite wild, and swimming in the beaches very close to the windmill is not great unless the day is very calm. But, there are such beautiful beaches not far away that that shouldn't be a concern. Thank you to our hosts - we loved every moment of our time there.

Eine Unterkunft der besonderen Art, gemütlich, authentisch. Über vier Ebenen verteilen sich eine gemütliche großzügig ausgestattete Küche mit wertiigen Geräten und Küchenutensilien die einen nichts vermissen lassen, ein Bad mit Dusche, Waschmaschine im separaten Raum, auf der unteren Ebene ein Schlafzimmer mit zwei bequemen Einzelbetten. Im Wohnbereich eine gemütliche Sitzecke um den offenen Kamin, der offene Schlafbereich auf der oberen Ebene mit bequemen Doppelbett und großem Kleiderschrank rundet die harmonische Einrichtung ab. Bettwäsche für jede Jahreszeit, Kleiderbügel, Bügeleisen, Haarfön, alles da! Der Außenbereich mit den gemütlichen Sitzecken mit Essplatz und Rückzugsoase ist perfekt und stimmig. Großer Abstand zu anderen Appartements auf dem Gelände, durch den gut gestalteten und gepflegten Garten stört man sich nicht. Die Vermieter sind sehr freundlich und haben gute Ausflugstips. Sie wohnen auf dem Gelände sind aber immer dezent im Hintergrund, jedoch bei einem Problem oder einer Frage sofort hilfsbereit. Diese Unterkunft ist traumhaft, sehr ruhig gelegen, mit einem Mietwagen nach Sitia dauert es 10 Minuten, dort gibt es einige gute Einkaufsmöglichkeiten ( auch einen Lidl).
