Das Hotel hat eigentlich alles richtig gemacht. Es ist klein, menschlich, einfach und zweckmäßig. grundsätzlich liegen die nur 6 Zimmer nach vorne raus und haben eine kleine Terrasse mit einer traumhaften Aussicht. Obwohl an der Durchgangsstraße E 90 gelegen, ist es dort ruhig und erholsam. Der Gang in die Stadt nimmt gute 5 Minuten in Anspruch. Optimal für nah dran aber doch nicht mitten drin.

Einfaches, älteres Hotel in angenehmer Lage

Das Hotel Nora ist ein älteres, einfaches Hotel für Reisende, die keinen Wert auf modernen Komfort legen. Zumindest jetzt in der Vorsaison gab es keine Zimmerreinigung, die Einrichtung ist dem günstigen Preis entsprechend sehr einfach. Der kleine Balkon Richtung Hafen ist nett, aber leider unmöbliert. WLAN war kostenlos verfügbar, allerdings ziemlich langsam. Die Lage fand ich angenehm, in ein paar Gehminuten waren Stadt, Promenade und Strand erreichbar.

De grandes difficultés de communication

En arrivant à l'hôtel, les hôtes surpris de nous voir nous ont réservé un accueil mitigé. Celle qui semblait être la patronne, une dame âgée ne parlant pas anglais à accepté de nous louer une chambre. Nous avons tout de même tenté d'expliquer que nous avons réservé et payé via expedia. La dame ne comprenant pas bien nous a fait comprendre de ne pas nous inquieter.Le lendemain matin, lors de notre départ, elle nous réclame 24,50€. Nous lui reexpliquons que nous avons deja payé. Elle insiste pour avoir le paiement. Devant son insistance, le doute et la barrière de la langue et pris au dépourvu, nous lui donnons le solde. Par acquis de conscience, nous vérifions sur le mail de confirmation ainsi que sur le décompte carte bleue Américain Express qui fait apparaître l'opération et le paiement en cours. Nous le lui montrons. Elle ne semble pas comprendre et téléphone à un proche qui parle anglais. Ce dernier nous dit comprendre le litige mais cependant exige le paiement. Il explique avoir des soucis de matériels informatiques qui rendent qui rendent impossible les paiements via expedia. Il nous conseil de demander le remboursement de la somme via expedia,Chose que nous refusons.Voyant que nous étions dans une impasse. La dame âgée à commencé à perdre son calme et nous a rendu les fonds, elle nous a mis à la porte. Nous sommes partis en ayant la désagréable et humiliante sensation d'être des voleurs.L'hôteliere semblait elle aussi très éprouvée par cette situation.Une journée gachée

Excellent Hotel - very convenient

Amazing stay - the location and hotel is perfect if you want to enjoy Sitia and its surroundings. The host is a lovely woman who doesn't speak English but is so warm and so kind that you feel at home! Highly recommended! Very clean and probably the best price in sitia!

Don't

My honest, polite, but negative reviews keep getting rejected by this site. I have wasted far too much of my holiday on this hotel, and urge you not to make the same mistake. Sitia is a pretty town, in a spectacular location. Tourists don't seem to have discovered it yet, so there is plenty of alternative accommodation. Also, as we did, you can catch a cheap flight which island-hops across to Rhodes.
