“We stayed at Alkyon Hotel for 3 nights before travelling on to Skopelos and I couldn’t recommend this hotel more! It was so convenient being 5 minutes drive from the airport and on the sea front. It was less than 5 minutes walk from the main strip of restaurants along the front of the port but slightly out of the main town area so was quiet at night. “There were 3 of us in our tiny room which had a double bed and a single bed, no wardrobe, just a rail with 6 coat hangers and no drawers. We basically had our clothes on the floor next to our beds. The view was beautiful but the balcony was really tiny with only 2 chairs. This was obviously a room for 2 people and a 3rd bed had been added. I’ve never stayed in a room where I’ve had to put my underwear on the floor. On our 2nd day we had a leak and water was running out off the bathroom and out……

“Decent hotel but the location on a very busy road wasn’t ideal. Constant noise from quad bikes and motorbikes late into the night made it impossible to enjoy the pool during the day and kept us awake at night. A steep 10 minute walk up from the port and very handy for bars and restaurants in the Old Town. The advertised poolside bar didn’t seem to be staffed although we were told that we could order drinks from the bar inside. The pool itself is nice but there’s no atmosphere as very few……

Unless you were in the front row when it was 25€. As there was 3 of us no option but to pay for 4 beds !
