Great Room, Odd Reception

Check in was a little weird. Reception was on the 12th floor and run by a guy in Tshirt and shorts with a laptop sitting at the bar. He was helpful in assisting me to get download an app for Room Key. Room was great. Larger than most, great bath room and extra large balcony. Breakfast was better than most the next day back on the 12th floor.

Overall the stay at WN LAB was good but I did not like having to pay extra for an additional bed (an air bed) in the room which had been booked for 2 adults 1 child. Breakfast was Ok but the hot food was not warm enough to enjoy imo. The coffee machine also splattered me on two occasions! Note: the room does not have TV as standard. For a weekend break in Sofia the WN LAB hotel is in a good spot with bars and restaurants literally on your doorstep. Staff are polite, helpful and speak good English.

Let me get the main drawback out of the way - the check-in system needs work. The web app did not work and failed to scan our docs. The other app they made me download, for the door lock, did not work either on Android. We ended up getting physical key cards. Other than that, very spacious rooms. Modern and well appointed building. Excellent breakfast. Underground parking was also included. One other minor gripe was the lack of fridge / ice cubes.

Key problem

There was a problem with the digital key. It wasn't working. So , after an exhausting trip we couldn't get into the room. There wasn't any help available at first. There was a telephone number but nobody answered. After twenty minutes some stuff appeared in the lobby and helped us. They asked me to download another app for the key but that didn't work either. On the end we were given physical cards and could finally enter the room. Apart from that everything was nice. The breakfast was very good, even vegan options, which I appreciate.

Extremely hot, air con not working, towel rail in bathroom fully working in July?! Had to open the window to get some air, very noisy as next to a busy road, mosquitos decided to join us. Breakfast underwhelming. Check-in was a nightmare, not going to use it again (this was our 2nd stay at the hotel).
