Soldiers Point family getaway

Beautiful views, a lovely part of the world. Accommodation was applicably priced. We could not access the 4th bedroom as the door was locked, and we were lucky that we had one less guest than expected. Would stay in this place again.

Port Stevens view

The property has a great view and plenty of room but is dated and in need of a spring clean. Overall it is clean but if you look deeper you notice the dust and dirt on the screens, inside cupboards and little niches. The driveway is very steep and gardens non existent. There is no internet service at all. Except for the view I would give this house a 6 out of 10

Nice if your wanting a viee

Check in is beyond outdated. 20 min drive either side to get the keys in Nelson bay. Would have been an amazing property in its day, beautiful view. The tv aerial was not working so no free to air, poor substitute of an old Foxtel box with no subscription just saved old movies. Mould in the majority of the sealant throughout the wet areas, dishwasher was temperamental, would often say no connection to mains water but then work on the next day. Vacuum available but full already of other stays. Air conditioning needs updating the splits are even aged and not working to capacity. Forget about having clean AC filters/vents or fan blades.

Amazing view from the front balcony! It was great to sit on the verandah and just relax with the view of the ocean. It's a few minutes walk down the road to the beach access and the water was calm and clear. The younger kids loved playing there. The house is spacious and clean but be aware there is basically nothing provided except toilet paper and a few small samples of tea/coffee and washing powder. You'll have to bring all your own cooking and cleaning supplies, even salt/pepper and olive oil! But this was a small inconvenience and the shops are nearby. We absolutely loved our stay and would stay here again.

The place is older but had everything we needed. You need to take your own towels and linen. Very steep driveway but that ensures a lovely view of the bay.

We had an amazing time in your property, the view and the place are beautiful, we enjoyed every minute of it, we would recommend it to everyone. The circuit breaker tripped about 6 times during our stay. This was due to an old noisy and I believe unsafe A/C. Even the hot water system, we were warned, might trip the circuit breaker. Can this be safe? Other rooms had no A/C at all. The only parking is via a very steep and curved driveway. We did not enjoy our visit and left a day early. A significant maintenance overhaul is required.

Fantastic view

Fantastic view and a great house we had a great time however we were told there was a smashed window by the previous group and the window was getting fixed. No problem the window was fixed before we got there however there were small shards of glass all through the bath, bathroom and in the carpet in the hallway. We didn’t notice any of this until my 3 year old got a piece of glass stuck in her foot with a decent sized cut. Once we worked out where the glass had come from we searched to make sure there wasn’t any more and got half a handful of glass shards. Very disappointing part to an otherwise great weekend.

Pleasant but also disappointing

The place we had to get our key was out of the way. Why not provide a locked box at the residence. The sign on the fridge was we had to leave the place as we found it. I eventually found the vacuum down stairs and then I had lug it upstairs to vacuum the carpets. Is it possible to find a place upstairs and put the vacuum cleaner. There was no cloths to clean up the benches etc. The TV did not have a signal. I rang up the after hours number to get it sorted but nobody bothered to come and fix it. The cleaning was not completed until 1530. That was 90 minutes after our allotted incoming time. An attached list placed on the refrigerator indicted that a cleaning fee would charged as an extra if the residence was not left as we found it. This is at odds with anywhere else I have stayed at. There was also a message for us to place the bins at the kerb. The bins were full before we got there. The driveway was far too steep for me to place on the kerb. Now the positives. The view was amazing. The decor was adequate. The ladies I spoke to , from the office, on a couple occasions were very friendly, welcoming and supportive.

Beautiful property in a Spectacular location

Spectacular views of the Karuah River, sunrise like no other to be enjoyed from dining room or deck. Comfortable beds, hot showers. Easy walk to the Soldier's Point bowling club. 8-20 minutes from most attractions. Well equipped kitchen, and access to vaccumm, mop etc.

Stay at 50 Soldiers Pt Road, Soldiers Point NSW

Pros : Excellent water views, really enjoyed the sunrise. Great amenities, enjoyed the BBQ spot overlooking the Karuah river. Spacious lounge and dining areas. A very well appointed kitchen. Cons : Not many. Exhaust fans and ventilation of the toilets could be improved. Also one needs to be careful descending the steps to the lower bedroom as the lighting in that area is somewhat low and there is fall risk. the main driveway is quite steep and running kids need to be watched. None of these detract from the attractiveness of the property which all of us found to be an excellent holiday home.

House with a view

Good place as a base to explore the area around Soldiers Point and Nelson Bay. Not great for infirm or little children as very steep driveway and stairs inside and out. No garden. Dated fixtures. Surface cleaning done but could be better serviced as some broken items throughout and some areas not cleaned at all. Good views from kitchen, dining areas.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Amazing holiday house

We absolutely loved staying here. The place itself is beautiful, photos don't do its justice. The view is amazing and even spotted some dolphins while having breakfast. Would definitely recommend this place.

Beautiful Views of the Bay

Excellent house that is beautifully presented. Only drawback was the step driveway and stairs. The views were outstanding and we also got to hand feed the Rainbow Lorikeets on the verandah. Was a big hit to all.

Lovely house very close to the water

Very steep drive way, huge garage, lots of stairs not so good for elderly people. Huge house very comfortable, clean, fantastic views lovely sunrise, would certainly stay again if in this area. Great location.
