This property sits at the end of Gray Road (which is shared with only a handful of other homes), ensuring that your stay will be quiet and serene. Spend your afternoons upstairs on the private deck overlooking the water, reading and relaxing downstairs with a wall of windows to frame the view, and entertaining friends and loved ones in the open kitchen and living area.

What's nearby:
This oceanfront home sits on the edge of Cape Harbor, six miles south of bustling Boothbay Harbor. When you're in town, you can sample tasty lobster rolls from Shannon’s Unshelled and stroll across the longest wooden footbridge in the United States. Back at the house, when you're not walking to the local library, you'll be just over two miles from a delicious lunch at Oliver's on Cozy Harbor Wharf and three miles south of Hendricks Head Lighthouse.

The view is stunning from all locations. Outside second floor deck is great. Location is great…But the house needs a fresh pair of eyes to address a few issues. We traveled with family and a broad age range. The stairs are twisty and uneven depth- top few stairs did not have a hand railing and made it difficult for senior family members to use alone. Trash cans full to the brim on arrival and were not picked up during our stay. Weird smell in lower bed room , so we all slept upstairs. Dirty nail clippers left in silverware drawer. Felt like these issues should/could have been addressed before our check in and noticed by the cleaning crew prepping the house…having said all that again the view is amazing and enjoyed time with family.

People who give a 10/10 review for a home like this do a disservice to future renters. The only thing 10 about this property is the view. There were multiple major problems and the communication with both VRBO and Viscasa were problematic. The view is absolutely stunning, but the photos were very old. Most of the furniture on deck and living room were old and faded. The deck cushions were not stored in any way and so left out in the rain, which took days to dry during which we couldn’t enjoy the deck. Beds were hard and Linens scratchy. We had very little hot water, you had to turn it up all the way to get any at all and this reduced the pressure in the shower. Washing my thick hair was very difficult. When reporting this the answer was “as water is not mentioned as an amenity, this may be the reason there is less of it!”The sink upstairs did not drain and the bathtub did not hold water. When reporting this and the hot water again the reponse was “we have contacted our local team and they report no issues.” So I. Guess we imagined the whole thing! I finally got a call from Viscasa the day we left and they assured they would check it out.The glass ware was very old and cloudy and knives so dull they were dangerous.The view and location however were outstanding! The best we have ever had in 20 years of visiting the Maine coast. We had our very own lighthouse and island and loved watching the light change and wildlife and boat activity in the harbor.

The home on Cape Newagen has breathtaking views that immediately capture you as you enter the home. When having coffee or eating a meal, we watched the lobstermen work and the boats come in and out. It is also conveniently located near a wonderful resturant. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We had a wonderful stay here during our spring break. Our family had plenty of space and we were quite comfortable. The house has one of the most spectacular views we’ve ever experienced at a rental while also having all of the amenities we needed to cook a few meals. Can’t wait to come again!

They thought of everything, including binoculars. We watched seabirds and lobstermen working and didn't leave the house until late in the day for the Botanical Gardens. They only communicate through Vacasa,email, and text. Good communication, though. Final payment is through Vacasa.

This little spot was so wonderful for a slice of Maine. Boothbay is wonderful to stroll around with friendly people. The view from the house is like a Norman Rockwell painting. So relaxing and so beautiful. We loved it.

This was a lovely getaway and we hope to return next year! The view is amazing and the deck is the icing on the cake. Good to know: Wifi and cell service are spotty. You'll want to bring your own water for cooking/drinking.

My family and I stayed here for 5 days in August. We had a wonderful time. The view is absolutely amazing! The kitchen was well equipped and the house was clean. It was quiet and peaceful and short drive into Boothbay Harbor. There is a fantastic library at the end of the rose which was great for our toddler and even a Alpaca farm at the end of the road. I would definitely stay here again. Cell service is spotty but house has Wi-Fi. Be aware that the water has a rust color to it. It’s jarring when you first see it. Toilets didn’t look clean - but they are.

House was filthy at check in. Visibly dirty floors with large debris, hair, and food crumbs. The panoramic windows were covered in hand marks and smudges. The stovetop was covered in grease, dust, and food crumbs. Coffee maker was so bad we had to sterilize it with vinegar. All table surfaces were dirty. Bathroom floors, countertops, and showers had dirt and hair throughout. Showers were dirty in addition to being hard water stained. Washer and dryer doors did not open or close properly. We spent as little time in the house as possible as it was so disgusting. I’ve been vacationing in the area for 15 years and am highly disappointed. We felt physically dirty when departing the property.

This house was absolutely amazing! The views were spectacular! We loved watched the boats and tide coming in and going out. While there are neighbors around you, it feels very private as look out the the giant windows along the back of the house. We also enjoyed the upper deck. We would sit up there at night....listening to the tide come in, watching the light on the lighthouse and listening to the bouy chime! So relaxing!

Located at the very tip of Southport Island, in Newagen, this renovated older home takes full advantage of wonderful views of the ocean, inlet and sunsets. A 10 min walk to a public dock adds to the charm. Quiet but not secluded. Easy to get to downtown Boothbay Harbor and the rest of the coastline. Deck in the photos is upstairs, accessible from both upstairs bedrooms. Second bath is downstairs, along with another bedroom (trundle bed). Very nice kitchen, newer appliances, and we loved having Alexa to find us good listening music while we watched the sunset.

The views are absolutely incredible! They also have shades on all of the windows so you aren't awakened at 4:00 am every morning, so we were thankful for that! The main bedrooms are at the top of fairly narrow, twisty staircase, which was fine for us, but this could potentially be a problem for some visitors. It was about a 15 minute ride into Boothbay Harbor, which is where we spent a lot of time during our stay, and it awesome! Beds in the upstairs bedrooms are very comfortable. We saw some reviews about the flapping vent that kept visitors awake; We also heard this flapping vent, but if you turn the overhead oven fan on low - problem solved! Overall great stay and would stay here again.
