Disliked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy
The only reason I gave this a 1 star is the view. The place was very difficult to find as there was zero signage on the street nor any directions in the listing. We only found it with the help and kindness of locals who took pity on us wandering up and down the streets dragging luggage in the hot humid evening air. Once we arrived, the owner/host showed us to our room and handed us a contraption to plug in that he said was for the mosquitos which were already feasting on us. The room was horrible, dated and worn. The beds had thin mattresses, no blanket and only a thin worn sheet. You could feel the bed frame through mattress as well. The towels were also old and worn. The bathroom was not the one shown in the listing. The air conditioner did not work properly to cool the room and the refrigerator also did not work properly and was dirty, old and worn. Needless to say, once we got into the room and looked around noticing that this was more like an outdated old hotel room than a well cared for studio, we immediately got on the phone with VRBO to try and cancel our reservation and get a refund as we paid in advance. We did not stay even one night there, though we did rinse off in the so called "shower" which was basically a closet with a toilet, sink and tray for a shower. I would not recommend staying at this property to anyone. We were fortunate enough to find another apartment in town that very night which was the perfect place for us.
