Splendid Hotel Taormina - Handwritten Collection

"Très bien situé dans les collines, cet hôtel nous offre une magnifique vue sur la mer. Beaucoup de magasins le long des petites rues, ce qui est très agréable. Par contre, il manque d’espace et de chaises autour de la piscine et les gens réservent des places alors qu’ils ne reviennent qu’en toute fin d’après-midi."

"San Pietro was a vintage experience reminiscent of 50’s Italian Riviera. Staff on the whole were lovely especially Lucy who served coffee on the terrace every morning. Downside was lack of clarity on breakfast buffet. For first two days we paid extra for eggs from menu costing an unnecessary 70 Euros cost. No one informed us it was not part of complimentary breakfast. Room was a bit dated - I think refurbishment is required. Drinks very expensive- 26 euros for an ok cocktail! Shuttle good but not available at times costing 20 euros on a taxi back to hotel. Room service very good- food hot and fresh which is not always the case in other hotels. Overall a pleasant experience but overpriced."

"Can’t fault this hotel. Very clean, staff were lovely and the pool are was wonderful. Our room wasn’t the most modern but bed was very comfortable and the room had everything we needed. Fruit at breakfast was very fresh and tasty. Short 5/10 min stroll into Taormina town. Perfect location and the bus terminal is just out the back of the hotel which is really handy. Close to the cable car to go down to Isola Bella too. We had a wonderful day and Pizzichella beach, with cheap sunbeds!"

Hotel Baia Delle Sirene

"The hotel is a cute, charming boutique hotel. We stayed in the Garden suite and Bellevue suite and both suites were very spacious. The rooms were updated so they felt more like the rooms in an American name brand hotel. The service we received from the front desk depended on who worked the front desk. We really appreciated the service provided by Vincenzo. He was a joy to talk to and was extremely helpful. The beaches in Taoramina are all rocky so be sure to have some water shoes if you want to go into the water. The hotel has beach access but not its own beach. You can rent a beach chair with umbrella and towel for 20 Euros per person; they only accept cash no card. The only drawback is that the hotel is located at the bottom of the cliff while the town center is at the top of a hill. The only way to get to town center is by walking along a windy two lane road with barely any shoulder to the Funicular (cable car). It seems weird to be walking on this road until you realize that everyone does it. While cars and motorcycles will drive around you, you have to pay attention and be aware of traffic. Overall this is a cute hotel with spacious rooms and a great view and nice access to the beach. It is also far enough away from busier touristy areas but still within walking distance to restaurants and the cable car. However if you are worried about walking along the windy roads, better to stay up in the town center."

"The staff at this hotel are so kind and helpful! Location is wonderful, close walk to town (less than 5 min!) but still quiet and right off the main square. The pool was lovely. It is however a bit dated, we had a junior suite and although very roomy, the decor could definitely use a facelift. It felt overpriced for what you got but overall very happy with our stay."
