Stunning Villa Runje

My husband and I spent a week at Villa Runje with close friends. We all agreed that we have never stayed in a better eqipped holiday home - and we've seen a few! Mare and Zdenko were the kindest of hosts. The house (built by Zdenko) was immaculate and beautifully maintained. The views and sunsets were spectacular

Nice location, peaceful outside of the tourist areas

The location is great, even though the mountain roads are not suitable for the widest cars. So make sure to get a car fitting the roads. The Villa was nice, pool with 28c water, jacuzzi with 34c water. The house was well equipped and with modern accessories (even a PS4 for the kids to play with) and a view second to none. We had a very warm week with temperatures between 34-39c but the air conditioning in the building made it comfortable all day round. We had a very nice vacation, using the Villa as a base for car trips around Dalmatia area.

Amazing property with the most wonderful views

We (a family of 6, 2 adults and 4 daughters) experienced an amazing one week stay in Villa Runje! The villa is very well equipped with everything one need. The girls enjoyed the heated pool and tub despite the cold weather. The hosts Mare and Zdenko are just the perfect hosts! Fresh bread was delivered at the villa every morning (because the bakery was closed during our stay) and they prepared a lovely organic meal for our family! We highly recommend this beautiful place and are planning to return in the near future!

Simply amazing!

Villa Runje is simply amazing! starting with Mare and Dzenko, their warmness and amiability made us feel welcomed from day one. On the arrival day they had cheese, ham and wine for us after the long trip from Germany, one night Dzenko prepared a traditional dish in the grill with vegetables from the small garden in the property and their home-made wine, which was exquisite. The property itself is stunning, built by Dzenko himself, clean, taken care to the detail, really well equipped with WiFi, cable TV, 2 bathrooms, AC, dishwasher, oven and all kitchen tools. The road is for experienced drivers, as you have to go up the mountain with some really sharp curves, but it's absolutely worth it once you see the sunset with Split on the horizon, the see and the surrounding mountains.. one of the best views I have ever seen!! The pool is just the perfect end of the day after an exhausting day out. Location is very convenient, in 20-25 Min you can be either in Split or Omis, where there beach is beautiful and there are adventure activities such as kayaking, canyoning and rafting. I would go with no doubt again!

Excellent Villa in Beautiful Location

Our family of 4 have just stayed for 2 weeks in Mare & Zdenko's lovely home from home. The villa had absolutely everything we needed for both us and 2 teenagers (14 & 18yrs). The Villa is exactly as described and photographed - perfectly situated in a small friendly village, very peaceful with fantastic views over Split. If you can drag yourself away from the villa, garden, pool and hot tub, (plus excellent wi-fi the boys would have me tell you), there is plenty to do in and around the Villa and Split and Omis are only 20-30 mins drive away. An excellent villa. What really sets Villa Runje apart from others in our opinion are the owners themselves, Zdenko and Mare. More thoughtful and generous people would be hard to find. They greeted us with a most welcome platter of ham, cheese, pickles and bread with home produced organic wine and liqueur and booked a meal for us the first evening. Mare is very knowledgable re. local attractions and very willing to help/make recommendations for you. Nothing is too much trouble, she even accompanied us to a greek tragedy being performed in the village by a Croatian national theatre company one evening, amazing experience on the mountain-side! Zdenko supplied our boys with mountain bikes and cooked a fantastic 'peka' for us all with more wine and liqueur! We were encouraged to fully use their organic garden next to the villa with all the beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, courgettes, aubergines, melon we could eat! They were on hand if ever needed but without being intrusive. Thank you Mare & Zdenko. What more can we say....? Lovely country, excellent villa, fantastic hosts. You'll love it.

Wonderful Villa and location. Exceptional hospitality from Owners.

This was an outstanding experience. The Villa Runje is in a wonderful location set in a perched village just 20 minutes drive from Split. Our welcome by Mare and Zdenko was warm and very friendly and they are rightly very proud of the Villa. This is made all the more understandable when you realise that it was built and designed by Zdenko himself. The journey to the villa is part of the experience, threading through unspoilt countryside and small villages the twisty roads take you to to a different world after leaving the hustle and bustle of Split. The trip takes about 20 minutes from Split and the village itself would not be described as "touristy". There is a local shop and also a couple of restaurants and the locals are always happy to wave and chat. The pool and terrace are a perfect way to unwind after a day of sightseeing and the views can only be described as spectacular offering a panoramic vista to the coast and Split as well as dramatic mountains. To the rear there is a dramatic rocky backdrop which apparently offers challenging walks and climbing for the more adventurous!! Both Mare and Zdenko know the mountains intimately and are happy to advise on routes/walks. Sunsets are spectacular and the BBQ/traditional oven coupled with some of Zdenko's tasty red wine is a great way to round off the day! An unexpected highlight for us was the evening meal "peka" provided by Mare & Zdenko and cooked in a huge dish in the BBQ. The homemade bread was also delicious and again Zdenko's red wine was provided in copious quantity! Mare & Zdenko are excellent company and could not have done more to make us feel at home. There is lots to see with the benefit of a car and the waterfalls at Krka were a particular gem. All in all a 10 out of 10 and we would love to return one day.

A beautiful villa with fantastic views

We cannot fault our stay at Villa Runje! Upon arrival, we were greeted very warmly by Mare and Zdenko. Mare's English is excellent; she showed us around the property and gave us lots of information about the local area and different things we could do. They had also very kindly laid out wine, bread, meats, cheese and olives to welcome us. The villa itself has a lovely feel to it. It is cosy but spacious, and has everything you could possibly need during your holiday (- all as listed in the villa details). The kitchen is well-equipped for cooking, the beds are very comfortable, the showers are hot with good water pressure, and everywhere is very clean. There is also lots of outside space. It was lovely to be able to eat on the terrace every night and watch the sunset. The hammock is super comfortable!! There are tomatoes, cucumbers and herbs growing around the property, to all of which Mare had said we could help ourselves. On a couple of days, some of these were kindly picked for us (together with apples, blackberries and figs) and left on the table outside! The village is small and peaceful. There is a villa next door to Villa Runje (- it was empty whilst we were there), but there is a good amount of privacy provided by the fencing. There is a small shop a few minutes' walk away, which sold lots of basic provisions (such as bread, milk, biscuits, beer, etc). On our final night, Mare and Zdenko had kindly offered to cook a traditional Croatian dinner for us. They came round, told us to relax and did all the preparation and cooking! We sat down together to grilled fish and grilled vegetables, with delicious salads and bread. They then left us to finish the dinner and enjoy the rest of our final night! We feel this really shows how genuinely welcoming and warm they are as hosts. We really cannot say a bad word about our stay here, and would definitely recommend it to anyone who is coming to Croatia.

Sehr schönes Haus, sehr offene Vermieter, angenehmer Aufenthalt

We have been going to the Villa RUNJE from October 28 to November 3. Our arrival was very nice and Marija has been in contact with us beforehand over What's App to ensure that she is present upon our arrival. Short note for people having cars over 5m40 (Long versions of VM Multivan)... it is not really possible to park in the entrance of the house as the road is too narrow, parking is nevertheless available on the main road, 100 meters away... better check first before engaging yourself on the small road :) We already got fresh bread, a bottle of home-made wine and dry figues for our first evening stay, this was really enjoyable! The villa is mostly made of stone and is very nice. The outside entrance and the pool area are very well maintained. Marija and Zdenko cleaned the pool on the first morning, it was very friendly from them, doing it just a few days after a surgery! There is a big garden outside, you can also eat what grows in the garden. Kids can use a big trampoline. It was used extensively during our stay :) The house is ideal for a week to relax. The view to Split and the sea is very enjoyable. Trips in the mountains are also very nice and adapted for children. The house is also very nice inside, well furnished. Only the kitchen ustensiles are quite slim, so do not plan to cook a lot during your stay (anyway you better enjoy the konobas everywhere, they are delicious!). Please note that the pool is not heated as mentioned in the German version... it was actually around 20 degrees at this time of the year, not really "warm" but it apparently reaches 26 to 28 degrees in summer. So the pool is heated by the sun to be clear... On demand we got additional bottles of the excellent home-made wine and also a liqueur... Marija was available at any time for questions and this made our stay very easy! Overall, a very nice experience for our first stay in Croatia! Thank you to Marija and Zdenko! Stunning villa with excellent hosts

We loved our holiday at this villa. It is perfect for a family of 6 and very safe for kids. The pool area is beautiful and the sun loungers comfortable - the hot tub is a real treat. The patio dining area is perfect in the evenings and the view is spectacular. We cooked often on the outdoor oven. And ate courgettes from the garden. Mare and Zdenko even cooked us a stunning Peka dinner one night, and then dropped off a beautiful cherry cheese cake the evening we were leaving. The beds are so comfortable and we slept 9-10 hrs each night! It's a 30 min drive down to the coast on bending winding roads. Being up in the mountains means you are cooler and there is a beautiful breeze so that was perfect. The village is not touristy however and is completely off the beaten track - it has one basic shop. We didn't actually go to the restaurant there at all. There is a get pizza restaurant 15 mins down the mountain from the villa with nice river views. Overall, we would say that Mare and Zdenko are some of the nicest people we have ever met! So helpful and accommodating - nothing was too much hassle and they take excellent care of their property. We feel we got to see both sides of Croatia - the everyday, village where people live and work and the touristy cultural side down by the coast. Mare recommended beaches and we drove to them and then did boat excursions - one to the 3 islands (leaves at 9:30) and one to the Blue cave & Hvar (leaves at 7:30am). Both very different, both equally enjoyable. Parking crazy in Split so go in early or leave the car somewhere within a two min walk in to the city. We loved Split and would recommend exploring the old town there (though the value or quality of food is not good inside the old walls) - outside better. The sandy beach in Omis town is okay - we would recommend the pebble ones further down the coast. A day trip to Krka National Park is worth it too - take the river boat entrance and plan to spend c. 2hrs Bring swimming togs too as you can jump in for a swim at the water falls. We explored the cities in the late evenings/nights as the heat was very intense during the days. Trogir is a beautiful town too and well worth stopping off in for dinner or an ice cream. And Ston is stunning and well worth stopping off at to eat amazing shell fish - Mare has brilliant restaurant recommendations for everywhere so definitely try what she recommends!! In Dubrovnik, the 1hr city tour is well worth it.

Traumurlaub in der wunderschönen Villa Runje

Traumhaft, anders kann man es nicht beschreiben. Vom herzlichen Empfang durch Mare, über den gesamten Aufenthalt bis hin zum Abschied ein unvergesslicher Urlaub. Die Gastgeber Mare und Zdenko haben uns so sehr verwöhnt mit täglichen Aufmerksamkeiten (Obst (vor allem täglich frische Feigen), Gemüse, selbstgemachtem Wein und Likör usw.) - der Höhepunkt war ein wunderschöner Abend an dem wir lecker bekocht wurden und gemeinsam mit den Gastgebern einen äußerst schönen Abend genossen haben. Mare und Zdenko waren jederzeit für uns da und waren so herzlich und freundlich, dass wir uns rundum wohl gefühlt haben. Die Villa war "live" noch schöner, als in der Beschreibung (da können die Beiden mit Recht sehr stolz darauf sein) und das Haus und die Aussenanlagen sind sehr gepflegt, da merkt man, dass hier ganz viel Herzblut drin steckt.Die atemberaubende Aussicht (tolle Sonnenuntergänge), die superschöne Umgebung und auch die tolle Aufnahme eigentlich im ganzen Ort haben uns beeindruckt. Kurz: wir wollen auf jeden Fall noch einmal dorthin reisen und zehren bestimmt noch Wochen von diesem Aufenthalt und freuen uns auf den nächsten Urlaub. Herzlichen Dank an Mare und Zdenko für Alles!

Einfach GRANDIOS

Ein Traum von einem Ferienhaus. Der Ausblick ist einfach ÜBERRAGEND! Egal ob vom Pool, von der Terrasse oder von der Dachterrasse; der Ausblick auf Split ist atemberaubend. Das Haus ist gut ausgestattet und technisch auf dem neuesten Stand. Das ganze Anwesen ist sehr gepflegt. Hier stellt man direkt fest, dass die Gastgeber sich persönlich und mit viel Herzblut kümmern. An dieser Stelle nocheinmal herzlichen Dank an Mare, die sich einfach um ALLES kümmert und immer weiterhilft, egal ob man einen Platz im Restaurant resrvieren möchte oder einen schöne Badebucht sucht.

Wunderbarer Urlaub

Wir sind insgesamt mit 4 Erwachsenen und 2 Kleinkindern (2 Jahre) im Haus gewesen. Es war für unsere Zwecke perfekt. Der Pool und der Whirpool sowie der Kinderspielplatz inkl. Trampolin haben alle Bedürfnisse gedeckt. An sich sieht es vor Ort noch besser aus als auf den Fotos, so ist das Badezimmer im EG komplett neu und das Wohnzimmer neu in weiß gestrichen. Die Gastgeber sind sehr herzlich, hilfsbereit und haben uns einen ganz tollen Aufenthalt beschert. Einzigen Abstrich muss man machen, da die Supermärkte schon ein wenig entfernt sind und man zum EInkaufen schon Zeit einplanen muss. In Summe ein grnadioser Aufenthalt und wir würden wieder buchen . danke Mare!! :-)

Perfect stay

Zu aller erst: Marija! Sie war die perfekte Gastgeberin. Jederzeit für alle Fragen, Tipps und Anregungen da. Vielen vielen Dank! Die Villa Runje hat den vermutlich schönsten Ausblick, den wir je auf ein Meer hatten. Traumhafte Sonnenuntergänge und ein wunderschönes Panorama. Die Villa selbst ist top ausgestattet. Der Pool und Jacuzzi sind bei diesem Panorama einfach ein Traum. Ein Aufenthalt in der Villa ist absolut empfehlenswert. First of all: Marija! She was the perfect guestkeeper. She was the perfect hostess. Always there for all questions, tips and suggestions. Thank you very much! Villa Runje has probably the most beautiful view we have ever had of a sea. Super Haus mit tollen Gastgebern!

Villa Runje liegt in einem kleinen Bergdorf mit fantastischem Blick...besonders Abends, auf Split. Die Gastgeber sind sehr nett und zuvorkommend, haben sogar einmal für uns einheimisch gekocht, aber uns in unserer privatsphäre essen lassen. Sehr lecker! Sie sind bei allem behilflich; egal ob etwas fehlt, man eine Frage hat oder einen Tisch reservieren möchte im tollen Dorfrestaurante. Im angrenzendem Garten durften wir uns an Obst und Gemüse bedienen. Die frischen Feigen waren ein Traum! Der beheizte Pool lädt zu jeder Tageszeit zum baden ein und den Jakuzzi haben wir meistens Abends genutzt, wenn es schon dunkel war. Ein echtes Highlight!!!!! Sehr schönes Haus mit phantastischem Ausblick

Das Haus liegt in einem kleinen Bergdorf 600 m oberhalb von Split. Es ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Der Ausblick auf Split, das Meer und die Berge ist wunderbar. Die Vermieter sind sehr nett und äußerst aufmerksam.Wir haben uns äußerst wohl gefühlt.

Pour un parfait séjour en Croatie, louez cette villa

La maison est un havre de paix dans lequel on se sent bien. Tout est fait pour vous détendre. C'est très propre et la piscine et le jardin dont entretenus quotidiennement par les propriétaires, Vous êtes au calme et le voisinage est sympa et accueillant. Les propriétaires sont adorables et nous avaient concocté de quoi manger en arrivant. Je recommande à 100%

Stunning

This property is stunning, Zdenko & Mirjana are wonderful and attentive hosts. Our experience was exceptional and would thoroughly recommend to anyone considering staying here! The only one thing I would recommend to anyone staying is that I was grateful for having a smaller hire car as the entrance to the property is quite tight! I hope that in the future that we can come back to this beautiful villa and experience this holiday again!

Beautiful views of Split

Our family had a wonderful 2 weeks at Villa Runje, we could have stayed longer..... The owners are lovely people and helped us in several ways, recommending restaurants and booking, explaining we had dietary requirements for allergies. They even cooked us a delicious local dish one evening, which my kids now want me to replicate! There is so much to do within a 2 hour drive we could easily come back again. Omis is very pretty, rafting the Cetina is great fun but the Omis zip lines were our kids (9 and 11) favourite! The villa is up on Moser Mountain and the drive there includes some narrow windy roads, but don't let that put you off. You are rewarded with the most spectacular views of Split. We spent almost every evening watching the sun sets from the hot tub or over a glass of wine and a game of cards with the kids....

Excellente prestation!

Après deux jours de route depuis la France, l'accueil chaleureux de nos hôtes nous a immédiatement réconfortés et mis dans l'ambiance des vacances! Toute la propriété est très bien entretenue, que ce soit le jardin, la piscine ou l'intérieur de la maison (qui dispose de tout l'équipement nécessaire et de la climatisation) Le paysage depuis la terrasse (ou les chambres) est magnifique. L'emplacement est très calme, propice à la sieste! Il y a un observatoire tout proche où nous avons pu observer les astres durant la nuit des étoiles: extraordinaire! Les propriétaires nous ont concocté un excellent plat typique de ce beau pays et nous avons eu le plaisir de le déguster ensemble. Il y a de nombreux sites touristiques à visiter à partir de la maison, ce qui en fait un lieu idéal pour tous nos projets de visite et de baignade. Nous retournerons avec grand plaisir dans cette location!

Villa with fantastic mountain view

Four adults and three children stayed for one week at Villa Runje. The villa was perfect for us with a pool, jacuzzi, playground for the children and wi-fi. The house owners made us feel very welcome, and they cooked a fantastic traditional Dalmatian meal for us one evening. It is a 15-20 minute drive up the mountain to get to the villa. Once there, the view is fantastic. It’s easy to reach different locations within a 30 minute drive, Split, Omis, Trogir etc. We can highly recommend staying at Villa Runje!
