This property was misleadingly advertised and my stay was unpleasant & stressful.
The listing advertised an apartment with a balcony, however I was placed on the ground floor with no balcony at all. This alone felt deceptive.
More seriously, the main entrance door lock was faulty. It was an electrical code lock attached to an old wooden door and clearly incompatible. I was locked inside the apartment on multiple occasions. After the first two incidents, the hosts had the opportunity to fix the issue. Instead, I was told the lock had a knack, which is completely unacceptable when guest safety is involved. Despite my initial request to change the lock immediately, they insisted it was fine - until I continued to get locked inside repeatedly. The lock was only replaced later around my schedule, after several unsafe incidents.
After these issues, I requested a refund for the unused portion of my booking. At this point, the hosts became hostile and uncooperative. Communication stopped, toiletries were not replenished, and clean towels were not provided. It was clear this change was because I reported the issues to VRBO.
To make matters worse, the hosts refused my refund for days I had not stayed, effectively forcing me to stay in the dilapidated property for the remainder of the booking, whilst the hosts were unresponsive.
Overall, this property was inaccurately advertised, with serious safety concerns and unprofessional host behavior. I would DO NOT recommend this rental.
