“Physically the property was pretty just like the on line pics. The rooms lacked storage and for the high price no water or tv was provided. The wait staff was slow and lacked training. As an example, was told the restaurant didn’t offer a latte, but I was free to go Nextdoor to their shop, purchase one and bring it back to the restaurant. That makes no sense as a trained professional would have run over, got the drink and added the cost to your bill. The staff was friendly, but lacked the skills……

“Delightful and funky. Spa robes were ready at the foot of the bed, the fire warmed the room, there was no sink in the bathroom, and the kitchen outlet was directly over the quality Italian range. Desolation Hotel is isolated at the end of Hope Valley, which was an essential part of the Emmigrant Trail. The "hotel" is a collection of comfortable cabins hidden in the trees above the restaurant/lobby & outdoor bar & dining area. It is an ideal location for those who like hiking or trout fishing.”
