Amazing views!!

We loved staying here and will be back! Just a warning that there are a LOT of stairs to get to the front door, so just keep in mind if you bring big suitcases lol. Other than that, we absolutely it and enjoyed sitting out in the deck with the beautiful views.

Our Stay!

Our stay was amazing! The stairs are a down fall if you have littles or forget something in the car but it has an amazing view! Open a few windows and it cools down pretty fast. The nook was clean and had lots of kitchen utensils which was very convenient. Beds are comfortable and kids loved the loft with TV! Patio was spacious with chairs to relax in out of the sun. I would definitely book this place again.

The condo was clean, the furniture was a bit flimsy or broken making one room unusable. Our sole interaction with a staff member was regarding parking, and he seem unsure of what we should do. Finally there were 3 flights of outside stairs- so you needed to carry everything up, then back down. Since the stairs were exposed to the elements, they were slanted down and icy, causing a significant and very painful fall, bruising my entire right side. Inside, it was clean and cozy but not toddler friendly- there were 2 more sets of stairs (one up and one down) with no way to prevent littles from trying to climb them.

Cute, woodsy, decorations, appropriate for the area it’s in. The stairs are mentioned by other reviews, but they are quite formidable very steep and not well lit. we arrived after dark and needed cell phone flashlights to ascend the stairs while dragging our bags; it was a significant challenge. It should be noted. This is a shoes off unit if you are not comfortable with that - pack slippers, as I was caught unprepared. The unit is clean and will provisioned.

Lake Tahoe unit

THERE ARE 74 stairs from the street to go to the unit. This is not mentioned in the listing! My cousin had knee surgery and had to cancel his plan and did not join us. Many issues with the unit besides the stairs To mention a few No coffee pot in the coffee maker Uncomfortable mattress in the downstairs bedroom Noises overnight Balcony light goes on and off for no reason Overall, not a comfortable place for us Don’t recommend it for families especially if taking that many stairs are a concern.

This was a great place to stay. The steps are legit though, especially if you’re not used to the altitude. We didn’t really spend a lot of time here as we were out adventuring each day, but was a nice place to come home to.

Had a good stay here, which was the best price I could find for the area on short (2-3 weeks) notice. The unit is at the top of 3 flights of exterior stairs, which is challenging when the last flight of stairs is icy. I would not recommend this location if you have anyone who is mobility-challenged. Instructions to get to the rental were clear. The kitchen has plenty of cookware for your meals, and I appreciated the eco-friendly toiletries offered.

Stairs are a safety hazard in the winter

The stairs are manageable if they are cleared. However, the stairs were covered in snow and ice when we arrived. I spent an hour of my time clearing and salting them so they were safe for my children (11,9, and 7). I reported this to the management company. We then received another 12” of snow. No one came to clear the steps. Again I spent my time clearing the steps. Unsatisfactory. I will not rent this property again.

Fantastic!

We loved our time at The Overlook Nook! It was a great place to stay if you are in South Lake for some quality family time. (One thing of note, There are A LOT of stairs so this property would not be great for anyone with trouble walking up stairs or families with small babies, especially newly walking babies. Our youngest child is almost 4 and she had a blast staying at the Nook.) We will definitely stay here again, can’t wait!
