“Had a great visit here last week for a JMU graduation. Location was a quick 20 minute ride from the house and very convenient to restaurants, shopping, etc., in Harrisonburg. We did try the Ye Olde Coffee House just a quick 6 minutes from the house for wonderful coffee and homemade breakfast bars! Overall the house was clean, well equipped, and we enjoyed the peaceful patio setting during some afternoon downtime. ”

“Charming cottage! Great location to Charlottesville and UVA. The cottage was immaculate, beds were comfy and the downstairs kitchen had everything you would need. The cottage owners had thoughtfully created an updated modern feel for a precious historic cottage.”

“Its the giant house on the side of the road, parking is by the tree on the hill. Arriving at night was hard to tell, with many small houses around the big house, and drive ways small. Dont let this fool you, this is to help you find it, as the place is amazing to stay. There are many rooms to stay in this house. This one is on 2nd floor, around tight nit stairs on top left. Room photos do not do it justice, its a bedroom / hallwall with bathroom, and den (spare room) very cozy, den is nice and……

“Charming cottages (both the Tea House & Ivy Rose) on a lovely property with great location. Mary is a kind and accommodating host! The cottages are unique & rich with character. Access to the Tea House does involve a handful of gracefully landscaped steps down to it’s private outdoor porches. A great spot for coffee in the morning! Will return. ”

“If I could give more than five stars I would. House is stocked with everything you need and then some. So peaceful and we love hearing the sound of the stream. The dogs loved the backyard and fire pit is amazing.”

“EXCELLENT location for JMU graduation! Our family enjoyed staying so close to campus. We loved sitting on the porch and the driveway was perfect for getting in and out during traffic. Beds were comfortable and home was well appointed. Host was so friendly, allowed us to check in an hour early and communicated quickly. We can't wait to come back for our next JMU visit!”

“We spent a wonderful weekend with our family at this home. We arrived early and Austen was very accommodating and we were able to check in much earlier (he was also super nice when we were late checking out whoops!). The house is very cozy and family friendly. Beds were soft. The kitchen had everything you would need although no oven (not a big deal). We were glad for the washer/dryer combo until and our kids were very happy for the playground right by the house. Couldn’t be happier with our……

“Loved the coziness of the cottage. It was perfect for what I needed.”

“Several things were not what was expected. Most notably was ants all over the kitchen counters and sink. And very damp towels folded in the bathroom. The towels had clearly not been dried enough and were presented as if useable for morning showers. But we came to find them wet and smelly. We didn’t have time to dry them so we had to use what we could. Finally the beds were in terrible condition that sank into the middle of the- it was a very unpleasant night sleep.”
