With fantastic views high over the water and boats, you will find this special and tastefully furnished house with 3 floors in authentic Dutch style in the waterfront town of Stavoren, with its own jetty and swimming ladder.
Stavoren is Friesland's oldest Elfstedenstad and has a vibrant and sporty atmosphere with many boats and restaurants. It is located on the IJsselmeer. Stavoren offers space for all kinds of water sports activities and has both sandy beaches and a protected kite-surfing beach. 100 metres away is a large supermarket open every day; 200 metres away is the train station that takes you quickly to Sneek, Hindeloopen or Leeuwarden, the European cultural capital of 2018. A day trip to Amsterdam is also easy to do (1.5 hours' drive). It is a beautiful area for walking or cycling, along the Frisian Elfsteden or in Gaasterland.
Built sustainably in the year 2019 with solar panels, this house is cosy in summer and winter. In winter, a large dense wood-burning stove provides a warm atmosphere. The layout is definitely special with the living room and terrace on the first floor, looking far and high over the water and drawbridges of Stavoren.
Behind the house is a garden, with a picnic table for games and BBQ, a large terrace by the water with rattan furniture, parasol with mood lighting. The house has its own mooring right on the large waterfront terrace, where you can moor your own (rented) boat and easily get in and out of the water via the swimming ladder. This water is private property and equipped with a drawbridge you can operate yourself. This allows you and your children to safely recreate in and on the water.
The spacious house has 4 bedrooms, each with double beds and a children's bed, thus accommodating 9 people. On the ground floor you will find two large master bedrooms (beds 180 wide; box spring and a double mattress bed for m/f) with a large bathroom with rain shower and toilet. At the back, you walk straight from your bedroom into the garden for a dip in the water or to do your morning gymnastics in the garden unseen. On the first floor you will find the central part of the house, with living room, open kitchen, utility room and toilet. From the large living room with open kitchen and cosy wood-burning stove, you walk through the sliding doors to the high terrace where you can watch the sun set over the water in the evening. In the morning, you can enjoy the sun on the waterfront terrace in the garden. On the second floor, you will find two more large and super atmospheric bedrooms with box-spring beds (1.60 wide and 1.80 wide).
All rooms are carefully decorated with a combination of classic furniture and vintage cabinets and elements.
The house and the kitchen is fully equipped: dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, microwave oven, large induction hob, garden with garden furniture and BBQ, parasol with lighting, wifi, a good stereo with Bluetooth, a modern television with Chromecast. Of course, free WIFI is available.
The house is excellent for families or several couples.
