Great Ski Haus in the Boat
Very comfortable accommodations for six of us. Cooked in a couple nights in the well appointed kitchen. Has everything you need. Clean, cozy house that is a 3 minute walk to the shuttle that runs about every 10-15 minutes during peak times (download the app). Easy drive into town for restaurants and shopping. Owners were very responsive and helpful with minor issues. Would stay again!

Great Location!
We came out for a ski trip, and the house was perfect! It was a great location with an easy drive to the resort. The host was very responsive to my messages, and they were even able to accommodate an early check in. We would definitely stay here again!

Great location
We used this as overflow sleeping accommodations as we were staying with a larger group that was housed .9 of a mile a way. It served the purpose as a place to sleep with great location to the ski hill. The beds were comfortable, there was ample parking and it was conveniently located close to the ski hill. That really was all that we required. To be transparent, would say that the upstairs water in the bathroom took a long time to warm up and there was very little water pressure in the upstairs shower. Check in and out were super easy and the hosts were amazing, answering questions for a newby to the VRBO system within moments of my email. We would stay here again.

A true "family" cabin experience
While I appreciate the true mountain cabin feel, the place does have a couple of things that could be improved upon. The door keypad and doorframe do not function properly. Although we were able to get it to work, the keypad does not operate correctly. And while the door looks like a newer door, the door does not fit in the frame correctly and therefore does not close tightly letting a lot of cold air in. The other primary issue is the heat. In our attempt to get the primary level warm, the upstairs bedrooms were stifling, and we were never really able to get the living area to a comfortable temperature. Also, the description includes a wood burning fireplace. What the description does not say is the fireplace is inoperable. I had visions of a nice fire while there, which would have helped warm the main space but this was not possible due to the nonworking fireplace. The description should be updated as it is misleading. With all of that being said, we had a wonderful time, the views were spectacular, there were lots of towels and the property was well equipped with lots of towels and a bathrobe for each room. I would have to say though, my next time in Steamboat (which will be in September), I will look for another place to stay.

Hi Diana, We appreciate your feedback and are always looking for ways to improve the house. To be clear, the fireplace is (and has always been) listed as an amenity that needs to be requested in advance and requires an additional cleaning fee. Had you requested this in advance as listed, we would have been happy to have this set and ready for you. We cannot leave the fireplace flu open between guests as it impacts temperature control and requires thorough cleaning between each use. We apologize if you did not understand that, but have been very careful to se the expectation with guests in advance. We wish you the best and hope you enjoy Steamboat in the future, regardless of where you stay.

Wonderful family getaway!
We had a wonderful time at this property. It was the picture place for our family (5 adults, 2 kids) the location was amazing. Super close to the ski slopes and equally close to shopping and restaurants. The house was adorable and the views were breathtaking.

Wonderful leaf looker weekend in October
I will say I really enjoyed staying in this home. I love steamboat and I try to spend a weekend every year here for my birthday in October. It is such an amazing time to see the fall colors change. I really loved waking up and having coffee on their spacious patio displaying the Yampa valley. We were even able to watch a hot air balloon. The location was exactly what I had hoped for. The kitchen was great - our group cooked almost all our meals and had (almost) everything we needed. I also liked the modern amenities such as the washer/drier/fridge/dish washer and TV's that we were able to watch Amazon Prime on with a guest log in. I was overall very satisfied with our stay. I loved the charm of this cabin. I did ask for feedback from my group if they would like to stay again... and they were hesitant about a few things... 1. We did have flies in the house. We opened the windows and most of them left. ( It is the mountains and I have stayed in mountain homes that just have these kinds of things) 2. The shower pressure upstairs was not as good as the pressure downstairs. Even though we tried to keep the water inside the shower pan there was still a few drips of water into the kitchen downstairs. 3. The floors and doors are a bit creaky / squeaky (it is a vintage cabin - so I understand personally) 4. It was warm upstairs, and opening the windows using the fans made a big difference. Pleasant Experience
Overall, we had a great time at this VRBO. The location was great and the place had a lot of character. The hosts were very nice and check-in/check-out was a breeze. No major issues throughout the stay. That said, the air conditioning appears to have been installed post-construction and doesn’t feed into any of the bedrooms (or so it seemed at least). As a result, the bedrooms were quite warm (the floor fans they provided helped a bit but they didn’t cool off until the outside temp dropped enough). The cleanliness was also lacking. We have two young children that stayed with us and after picking one of them up and noticing their feet, we realized just how dirty the floors throughout the house were. They definitely don’t seem to have been cleaned anytime recently. There were also a number of dead flies and wasps all over. Overall, I would recommend as long as you’re ok with the lacking cleanliness and no AC in the bedrooms.

Hi Alex, We are glad you enjoyed your stay! This building wasn't built with air conditioning back in the 70's and hasn't been upgraded with it either. We state in our Amenities > Essentials section of the property description that AC wasn't checked and on the Heat description we also state that "this property does not have A/C and we provide fans and recommend opening windows and closing shades to control the temperature." I have added a new note to the Property Description to help future guests with their expectations, and we have removed the thermostat that had a display which included the mention of air conditioning since that seems to confuse people. As to the floors' cleanliness, they had been cleaned prior to your stay but we had to have some contractors in to install the new front door, and they might have made more of a mess than expected. We will get carpet cleaners and a more thorough cleaning of the hardwoods after your review has brought this to our attention. Thank you for that. Kind Regards, Josh and Lacey

Nice enough but a few hiccups
On arrival, we could not enter the property. The front door was damaged and broken. Obviously not a new problem since someone had tried to Jerry rig a handle to make the front door latch work properly. It took us several hours and a phone call to the property manager to get this figured out. Not what we wanted at the end of a long drive. The other problem is that the unit is hot, especially upstairs. There is no air conditioning. Otherwise we found the unit clean and comfortable. We especially appreciated the amenities which have been placed in the kitchen, such as coffee, filters, dish soap, paper towels, etc. This was a very nice feature. In conclusion we might rent this unit again, but we would probably try harder to find a different one before doing so.

Bachelorette Mountain Getaway
We had the most amazing time here in Steamboat. The place fit 8 of us comfortably. Amazing views and even our neighbors were very kind! We had a homemade personal pizza night and the home had everything we needed to cook. Such a fun and unforgettable experience with my mom and my best girlfriends!

Exceeded Expectations
Don’t believe earlier not so great reviews. The house is well appointed and very comfortable. If you enjoy eating in, this place is perfect. The kitchen has all the tools you need for cooking as well as drinking coffee, cocktails, red wine, white wine & champagne! Great location, convenient to everything yet private enough. Amazing views off the spacious deck, complete with patio table, chairs, umbrella and a great grill! We can’t wait to go back. Thank you Josh and Lacey!

Great place, amazing deck
Easy to find, clean and comfortable. Kitchen was well set up, lots of floor space for young one in a walker, older kiddo with toys. Hosts were fantastic! Very thoughtful and responsive. The deck is large and has a spectacular view. Easy walk to some nice places near resort, short drive into town for more variety.

Overall impression - it was a nice/clean place to stay. Stocked well with essentials and overall fit well for our family to stay. I wouldn't say the next items are necessarily bad, just things that weren't expected. First off, the unit was not as big as what the pictures would make you think, and it was a little off-putting to know that the space is actually "shared" with tenants who rent below (so you have to watch the "noise" between certain hours which is hard if you have kids) The upstairs shower leaked no matter where the placement of the shower curtain was (which was always in as requested) and the main floor entertainment (dvd player etc.) didn't work (no cords connecting). Overall, it was a decent place to stay for the price. (Also, just a heads up - the upstairs bedrooms may not be the best place for older people or anyone with bad joints to stay as the stairs going down are pretty steep)

The quiet hours requested are actually in line with standard hotel hours (11:00pm - 8:00am) so our hope is that this should not interfere with normal activity while also respecting the fact that the house has neighbors close by, even if the unit below is empty. Extremely happy with this property. The host(s) supplied all the 'extras', including flowers for Mother's Day - well stocked kitchen. The view from the deck was fabulous. Quiet neighborhood. My family and I had a wonderful weekend at this location.

Owner Josh was super nice and gave us an early check-in. Thx! Buuuut, don't be fooled by the pictures. The deck looks beautiful with a nice BQ grill but was not accessible in winter nor did it have a grill. House is older with poor insulation , windows and door. Creaky floors with a poor heating system. Hot Upstairs or cold down. Upstairs shower is a water saver shower head and only puts out a mist. Hard to figure out the hot water. The actual shower head is loose inside the wall and leaks into the kitchen below. Owner said on a review in 2022 this would be fixed but is still broken 2023. Many blinds are nonfunctional or missing. Bifold doors come off track. Upstairs dresser is not the one pictured, drawers are broken and had personal items in them. Socks, underwear, etc. There was no hand soap nor dishwasher soap. Instructions said to check the dresser drawer in the mud room but none was found. Some boxes of tissue would have been nice. Very disorganized closets stuffed with junk. It's seems that the owner is the cleaner and does not have it professionally done. Outside driveway was covered in ice. ( I know it's been a tremendous snow year) but was not plowed efficiently. Sorry Josh but we were disappointed with our stay. I hope you can get some things fixed. 2 out 5 ☹️

Hi Bruce, We’re very sorry that you we’re disappointed with your stay! We do our best to ensure that our home is a wonderful experience. We do want to respond based on your comments though: 1. Out cleaning team is very professional and if anything was missed, it was because they rushed to provide early access for your family. 2. I personally did a walk through just before and after and the supplies were in fact, in the home and in the places described. We replied very quickly to your request to arrive early and we live in town and would have been happy to provide any missing items had you mentioned this, but again, I did see TP, tissue etc. in the house. 3. Our town was hit with the second biggest winter on record and any time there are 4+ inches of snow on the driveway, a plow service has been sent. 4. The shower has clear, framed signage to ensure leaking does not happen. 5. Since your stay, new windows and coverings have now been installed throughout the entire home and updated photos will be available soon. As many of us have experienced, supply chain issues have made speedy home renovations a very big challenge! Again, we are so sorry to hear that you were disappointed, but also want to be sure that the cabin we’ve worked hard to share with everyone has been appropriately represented. Winter Wonderland
We loved our stay here! The house was very cute and easy access to the bus stop only a 3-minute walk away. The kitchen was well-stocked, the beds are very comfortable, and the hosts were responsive! Our only complaint is that the water pressure in the upstairs shower was really low so we primarily used the downstairs shower. Otherwise, it was a fantastic stay!

The space was perfect for our needs for a getaway with our children. Our host was so responsive and brought over an extra pack n’ play for our 7 month old even though they had one there already that we were using for our 2 year old. The view was beautiful! The kitchen was well prepared for us to cook most of our meals. The king bed upstairs was really comfortable.

Not quite as I expected!
Over all the stay was ok! I think I expected a little more for that price. The place was slightly hard to find at first, we got a late start so we didn’t get there until after dark which was our fault, but there were no lights on so we had to use our phone light to make sure it was the correct place. The place is obviously an older property, the door was a bit jammed and had really push it open. Also the property didn’t seem to have much insulation because you could hear everything from every room. We also had a number of flies and bees we found in the place during our stay. I only gave it a 3 for cleanliness because despite the place looking wiped down, when I went to make coffee there was still old coffee from previous guests in the coffee maker. Yuck! The towels provided were all beginning to have that old towel/mildew smell. Also mentioned in the description was an out door deck to enjoy the view, well a bunch of the outdoor furniture there was old, torn or broken down. The upstairs shower says it leaks into the kitchen if the shower curtain isn’t in the shower but it still leaked even when we made sure the curtain was in! I showered with a trickle of water pressure (literally) to help prevent that from happening. It was also misleading about parking, from the pictures it looks like the property allows for covered parking under the deck, but that spot is for the lower unit and this unit is up top and does have parking but not covered. That was our fault for assuming from the picture we had covered parking! Other then that the place was in a good location and besides those issues we enjoyed our time in Steamboat!

Spacious Home in Great Location
This home is in a great location and has a spacious, open-plan lay-out with a big deck and gorgeous views! It has a large refrigerator and a well-furnished kitchen that made it easy to cook there. Beds were comfortable. On the downside, though, many of the window screens and handles were missing, and many of the blinds were broken. Upstairs water pressure in the shower was non-existent. Also, the front door was wonky, making it tricky to open and close properly. Basically, a top-notch property but in need of a little TLC.

Great place for a summer stay.
Everything was provided making cooking and relaxing very enjoyable. The location is close to everything and we really enjoyed going out to enjoy things in town while being able to return several times a day to relax and have a drink. The hosts provided everything! We will try to visit here again.

Get respite to recover from long ski days. Very quiet area with gorgeous views of mountains. Josh & Lacey were very helpful and easy to communicate with. Study the bus system before hand if you are planning on using to get back and forth to mountain. It's part of the city system SST. Kitchen very well equipped. Thank you for a great ski trip!

Great spot for six of us!
This was a great three bedroom two bath property for six of us to stay in for four days of skiing at Steamboat Springs. The three bedrooms and two baths with the large kitchen and dining room were ideal for my family and guests. The views out to the valley were wonderful and you can sneak a peek at the gondola from one side of the house. We had two cars in the driveway was in a great spot and plenty long. Very well stocked with all the amenities and basics you need. The owner was very communicative and supportive when we realized the dishwasher was not working. We used the free Steamboat Springs shuttle every day to get to the base of the mountain. Be advised when coming back to the house from Sunray Meadow stop you are walking up the hill, potentially with all your gear- but it’s pretty close by, so we liked the Green Line- you are on early and can get a seat.

Rustic Townhome with Great Views
This is a great place to stay in Steamboat if you are looking not to pay ultra premium for ski in-ski out and want lots of room. Kitchen, living areas, and bedrooms are spacious. Views are wonderful. The place a rustic feel to it, but some of the comforts of home like a smart TV and updated kitchen. Walk to the free bus stop is about 5 minutes.

Great house for a Ski Family
We loved this house. It was close to the ski resort, had 3 big bedrooms and a kitchen what was well stocked. The deck in the back was so nice, even in the snow we enjoyed having it! Josh was very nice and met us at check in to explain some of the things in the house. We would rent here again. FYI there are people living below you--if that's something you care about...it didn't bother us.

Great Stay in Steamboat
The property was great for our family ski vacation in Steamboat. Great location with a nice layout and setup. Definitely recommend!
