Great experience!!

This was our first time in Steamboat and I can't imagine a better property. Ryan was so helpful and made us feel right at home. We had 7 adults and 3 kids and we felt like we had plenty of space. It is ski in/ski out which was so nice. Just a short walk to the base of the mountain. We would definitely stay here again. The hot tub was a nice touch and was never crowded. The property has an elevator which was nice to have for bringing up luggage. There is also a shuttle service provided by vacasa. You just call them and they come pick you up and drop you off where you need. It was very helpful and we used this transportation daily. Terrific location, helpful staff and beautiful scenery made for a perfect trip! We hope to be back and stay here again!

Great Location/Condo

Location was great, and on site staff was VERY helpful and accommodating. Hot Tub in very close proximity to unit....and had plenty of room for (4) to spread out. Now for the "bad".... Vacasa main office/call center was always telling me "no" to questions, only to find out the contrary when I spoke to on site staff. 1) was told there is no shuttle service associated with this unit. On site staff said otherwise. Wasted $1000 on rental car due to this issue. 2) was told that there is no way to accept skis/luggage prior to our arrival....I called on site staff and they graciously accommodated my request and skis were there waiting for me when I arrived. Don't call the Vacasa main office....Call Ptarmigan House directly with questions.

Spacious getaway home and great location

Our group loved our stay. Plenty of space fir all 6 of us and a lovely kitchen and common area to hang out in. So convenient to have parking for both our cars; one in the garage. We enjoyed our balconies and the hot tub as well. Short walk from the gondola area where they are doing some major renovations this summer for the coming ski season.

Hidden ski in/out

Maybe I didn't do a good job reading the reviews, but I had no idea this is a legit ski in/out condo. Tiny trail that you walk up to put you on a very short run to the base. Literally ski in back on the trail right up to the door. Skis are stored in lockers one flight of stairs down from the door. Not the biggest or fanciest place, but the ski in/out was delightful.

Great ski-in ski-out condo

This condo was exactly as advertised! Super-clean, updated condo with perfect access to the slopes. We slept 4 adults and two kids with plenty of extra room. I highly recommend and would stay here again.

Great Place But Broken Parts/Issues Not Addressed

Lovely and comfortable condominium but some flaws. It is close to street and noisy when visiting in summer and needing to keep windows open for the heat. Promised air conditioning for bedroom without windows but it was not working and did not get fixed during our stay. Was stifling hot for our guests in that room. Stripped faucet handle in downstairs bathroom also made it a challenge to shower there. Managment did not make great effort to address and remedy these items while we were visiting. Perhaps since most of building was empty they could have moved us to another room?

Ski In/Hike Out

Location is a good as you'll find in Steamboat, although I would describe it as more a ski in/hike out situation. You will have to climb a 20-30 yard long hill to get on the slopes. Don't confuse the Ptarmigan House with the Ptarmigan Inn located next door. I wouldn't consider the property spacious, but it was adequate for the 5 of us.

Great space, warm and comfortable!

Truly enjoyed my stay at the Ptarmagin House. Wonderful and friendly staff made the stay extra special. Great kitchen for eating in, and easy ski in and ski out to Gondola. I have stayed at a few other places in Steamboat, but none can compare. Highly recommend checking this place out.
