Welcome to the PowderGlades Chalet. This property offers a fantastic location and great value. When you rent this half duplex home, you'll have ski in ski out access from a nice, large home with incredible views, recent renovations, and other features that really matter in a vacation residence. In spring, summer and fall, this ski in ski out location turns into a hike or bike in and out locatino. Whatever the season, the national forest is right out your door, and don't be surprised if you see some wildlife. One of the best things about this home is the views. They stretch across the whole Yampa Valley from the south to the west, and you are likely to enjoy some stunning sunsets. This home also has a real wood burning fireplace which you'll want to cozy up around when the day is done, or maybe even just to get the day started off right! The two tiered deck with private hot tub is off the main level, and there's a patio off the downstairs bedrooms, offering guests a good amount of outdoor space to enjoy. The home is surrounded by beautiful mature Evergreens, Gambel Oaks, and Aspens, but not so many to block the views. The architecture is impressive, with vaulted tongue and groove ceilings and large exposed structural beams that are an iconic symbol of mountain western style. The property faces south and west, with plentiful windows, stained glass, and a skylight, which allow a good bit of beautiful natural light into the home.

This property is a 4-Bedroom + Loft. It is laid out across 3 levels, and has lots of spaces to spread out for privacy as well as one large space that is ideal for gathering everyone together. When you enter you'll find ample room to sit down and for storage of your shoes, boots, hats, mittens and coats. Just past the foyer you'll find the loft. Here you will find a sofa and armchair. It can function as an extra place to relax with a book or to watch the HDTV. This loft looks down upon the main level living room, one floor down. The main level includes the master bedroom and bathroom suite, as well as the kitchen, dining, and primary living room, as well as a half bathroom. The 2 tiered deck can be accessed from both the master and the living room. The lower level includes the other 3 bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and the laundry.

There are a lot of additional features to enjoy at this home. Of course it has free wifi throughout, and there are 3 different TVs for your use. This home has an open concept layout that is great for entertaining, a great place for family and friends to enjoy each other's company! The living room has comfortable furniture and a wet bar. The bar is conveniently located right by the door to the outdoor space, which includes an outdoor dining table and a gas BBQ grill. The dining room is right next to the living room and kitchen, very convenient. The kitchen is quite large, comes with everything you might expect and then some, and the large peninsula makes meal service easy.

The other half of the duplex is a mirror image, and also available for rental. It is more expensive than this half of the duplex, but if you need more space, ask us about renting both halves of this special duplex home.

** Air Conditioning - Most mountain resort properties were not built with air conditioning. During most hours of the day and weeks of the year, AC is not needed. Summer nights are cool and fans are provided at most properties. Check the average high and low temperatures and weather forecast for your dates of travel, and look at the list of amenities to see if AC or fans are part of the rental property and look for ceiling fans in photos.
** Group Sizes, High Occupancy Fees, & Maximum Occupancy - Some properties use a “High Occupancy Fee” to “raise the rate” for larger groups, and are thus able to list a lower nightly rate for smaller groups. Each rental agreement and associated rates are for a specific group size. Guests must enter the correct and maximum group size at the time of booking. The agreement requires a guest to confirm the group size and subsequently, to disclose any changes to the planned group size, which may result in an increase, or decrease, to the total cost, and may result in a security deposit becoming required.
** Video & Noise Monitoring - Please note that noise monitoring devices, and security cameras, do exist on the exterior of the property. Cameras are positioned to cover all entrances and exits of the home. Cameras are present to ensure the property remains secure and safe, as well as to ensure that guests are honest and upfront about their planned use of the property. If you plan to bring more people than you've indicated, more dogs than indicated, to host a party or event, or do not intend to respect neighbors or the value and quality of the property, then this is not the place for you, and you should not book the property. For normal, respectful groups, we are sorry that these statements and measures are necessary. Security cameras and noise monitoring devices are an example and demonstration that the property's owners are taking steps to ensure the home remains available for rental, and in good condition, for your benefit. Please let us know if you have any concerns.
** Cleaning Fees & Lengthy Rental Periods - The standard cleaning fee quoted as part of any booking is for the final cleaning, which is to be performed after the rental period has ended. For guests who are booking a lengthy stay of more than one week, a mid stay-cleaning fee equal to the final cleaning fee may apply for the second week, third week, and so on. If you are booking for a lengthy stay, please contact us before booking online to discuss your group, your dates, the rates, the cleaning schedule, etc.

This was our second time staying in this home. We have loved it both times! The private hot tub is the perfect amenity after a full day on the slopes!! We also love the location under the gondola, and it’s a very short walk to the slopes. It’s such a cute and cozy ski chalet - will definitely stay here again!

Our family of 7 (children ages 8-17 years) enjoyed a wonderful New Year’s ski vacation in a cozy cabin with wood burning fireplace and relaxing hot tub to view amazing sunsets. The ease of accessing the slopes was great for midday lunches with younger kids. We hope to return to Steamboat Springs and will definitely request this wonderful home again!

This was a clean, nice home that was very close to the slopes. A couple of little things could be better. The online description said there were hairdryers in every bathroom. Only one bathroom had one. The home description said there were three televisions but there were only two. The drain in the one bathtub didn't work which is tough with two small children who take baths. Finally, there were burned out light bulbs and some other lights didn't work. The hot tub was great with beautiful valley views! Overall this was a very good rental unit.

We had a great time in this home. We spent a lot of time on the deck which has a great view of the valley. We ate on the deck almost every night, so a great grill, kitchenware, pots and pans, silverware and glassware is a must. We were not disappointed. The beds and bedding were very comfortable. I can see where this place is perfect for a ski trip as well. It’s a close walk to the Christie lift. Closer than walking from a parking lot to the lift. And the place has a great fireplace. Our thirty-somethings used the hot tub and loved it. Especially looking at the stars from the deck. This place was also perfect for pets. We would all recommend thisnplace

For us two and our dog and our fishing/hiking trip, this property worked out really well. The property was nicely cleaned and maintained. The view of the flattops and being right on the ski mountain was fantastic. The only minor points I would say was the cleanliness of the patio... covered in cottonwood/tree debris and looked like it had been a while since it was last cleared. There was also minimal outdoor light for the hottub area at night and the lights in the hottub did not seem to work. There also wasn't really any good spot for the dog to use for a bathroom area. We found a weedeater in the garage that helped us clear a spot for her on the back hill of the property, so that helped. Also, there really wasn't much warning on the 4 (fairly steep) levels of stairs required to get from the driveway all the way down to the lower level of the house. We were perfectly able to manage, but feel folks who are older would likely want a warning about that before they think about renting the property. We certainly wouldn't be renting it again if my in-laws had been with us. Thanks for a lovely stay!

We can't say enough nice things about our experience with this property as well as the communication with the homeowner. We stayed in the summer so while we can't speak to the winter access for skiing/snowboarding, it was a great spot to enjoy the beautiful views. Beds were extremely comfortable... Bathrooms were modern and updated.... Kitchen had every tool, appliance, gadget you needed... The loft seating area was a nice getaway for the kids to hang out and play in while the adults enjoyed the main seating area. No TV in the main living room turned out to be a blessing as we focused on the views and each other's company. Hot tub was nice and clean... Plenty of towels and linens...

A short walk to the slopes makes this house a great option to ski. The property is right off of the mid-station of the Christie Peak lift, so you can even return via lift in the evening when they are running night skiing. The house itself is large and well decorated, with a large kitchen and dining room to accommodate groups that want to cook at home. The outdoor hot tub is a great place to watch the sunset after a long day on the mountain. We did not bring a car and relied on walking, the local bus service and airport shuttles. It was doable in this location, but I would probably just take a car next time.
