I've been on the hunt for a decent hotel to stay in when visiting my kid who attends UWSP. This is not it. The main part of the room was clean, but we discovered what appeared to be black mold in the bathroom. The hot tub was uncomfortably hot. The breakfast was your standard hotel breakfast.

I love the fact that the hotel was right on Lake Bonnie, that was very cool. But the place is privately run by a shady-ish family, I assume. My room was filthy and I think the wife lives there and is the cleaning crew. I reserved a hottub suite to have a nice relaxing soak, which I did not, because the room, specifically the floor, looked like no one vacuumed. I wasn't going to take a chance on the tub. I was totally bummed about that, but the hotel itself is nice, pool and hottub looked clean, I'm sure the free breakfast was wonderful, based on the guy stocking up for it the night before, but not using the hottub was a bummer.

First, this hotel is NOT the Stevens Point Conference Center, which is a Holiday Inn. I had intended to reserve that hotel. But we found this hotel room spacious, clean, and quiet. The breakfast room has poor lighting and the eggs-meat patties were inedible. Some fresh fruit would have been welcome. On our last night, the bathroom toliet was beginning to make gurgling noise and by the time we left in the AM, the toliet was completely clogged. I don't recommend a first floor room because of that. All in all, it's not bad for a one-night stopover while traveling.

Parking was good, however there is a weird smell in the hotel rooms. In addition to that the sheets and comforter is really scratchy “motel” material. Also, hotels water services were off for an entire day.
