"We stayed for a few nights as a family with two young kids and loved the farm environment with its playground and games like football and table tennis. The family room was lovely, with beautiful gardens, hot showers, and very comfortable beds. Breakfast on the sun terrace was delicious and set us up perfectly for the day. We did a guided walk in the area and also spent time relaxing by the river near the restaurant. Do bring paints or pens for the kids, as there isn’t much else to do nearby...

"My friend and I stayed here during a trip to climb Mount Toubkal and it couldn't have been better. From the moment we arrived to departure we were treated exceptionally well by all the staff at the hotel who were friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful in every way. I would thoroughly recommmend this hotel to anyone wishing to spend time in the village of Imlil and its surroundings. "Excellent séjour. L'équipe est très sympathique, et le petit-déjeuner + repas délicieux. Seul regret : j'aurais aimé savoir avant de réserver que la salle de bain des chambres de la catégorie "classiques" est bien privée, mais nécessite de traverser le couloir. Je pense néanmoins qu'il s'agit d'un oubli de bonne foi en configurant l'annonce sur EXPEDIA. Le séjour est resté très agréable et confortable, merci à tous."

"We had a wonderful stay at Chez Momo II. The views from the hotel are breathtaking and there is able patio space to relax and take in the surroundings. Food at the hotel was phenomenal and very reasonably priced. Staff was very easy to work with and accommodating. I would highly recommend going for a guided hike to the “top of the world”. Ask for a guide by the name of Mohammed to show you around. Highly recommend this area of Morocco and this hotel specifically. "

KASBAH D'IF

8/10 Good

"Beautiful property, but the service needs significant improvement. We stayed for three nights in September. Kasbah D’If is stunning, peaceful and beautifully located away from the city. The pool and spa were lovely, and I particularly enjoyed my prenatal massage. The staff were generally friendly and, when managers became involved, extremely helpful. Unfortunately, the overall service and organisation did not feel five-star. We booked a cooking class a week in advance, but on arrival it seemed nobody was expecting us. There was no common language with the chef and it took 45 minutes to find a translator. The class became more of a demonstration due to the limited kitchen space, and basic things such as offering water were overlooked. When I became dizzy from the heat, the staff kindly found me a chair and fruit. The manager handled our concerns very well, waived the cost and gave us the food. There were several other avoidable issues: I ordered Champagne but was initially served flat Prosecco; I was directed to the men’s bathroom at breakfast; and we waited 15 minutes at reception for a tour before being told the English-speaking staff member had not arrived. On arrival at 10pm, a bedside plug was not working and required an engineer, while the AC could only be controlled from reception. The property is genuinely special, but attention to detail, communication and organisation currently fall short of five-star standards so at this stage we wouldn’t consider returning."

Hotel Boutique Les Relais De L'Ourika

"The staff at this hotel are really the stars of the show. While the property is a nice refuge from the hustle bustle of Marrakesh, the facilities are slightly worn. The rooms are very nice and spacious, the pools are a nice, and while we preferred the smaller more private pool, it could have been better maintained,(the tiles were a little green with algae), but again, very nice amenity. We asked for a room change, as the bass of the music being played in the pool area, was pounding in our room. We were quickly accommodated, but we were not really able to get far enough away from the constant pounding bass sound. We decided to take advantage of the small pool in front, where we found some peace and quiet and enjoyed a refreshing dip in the pool. Later we had a nice dinner at the restaurant, again the staff are so very accommodating. The sweet receptionist organized a nice excursion to the Ourika valley the following day. We really enjoyed our breakfasts with the wonderful chef Hosmi and our friendly waiter Teoufiq. We had an early departure at 8am, but Hosmi happily made us coffee, and was very sad he could not make us breakfast before we had to go! And I wish we would have taken his suggestion to ask our driver to wait 10 minutes! This kind of hospitality is rarely found anywhere. We truly appreciated everyone’s sincere efforts to make our stay memorable. Bravo!"

"We all loved it! Great selection of slides, pools. It says they have 4 restaurants but really it was one restaurant that had buffet style breakfast, lunch and dinner, one restaurant that opens from 3 pm to 5 pm for crepes and hamburgers and one cafe with pastries and sandwiches. In general the slides could use some repainting. Staff can do better with cleaning up the common area around the main pool/main cafe since that’s where most guests hang out. Our room was big enough for 5 people. But honestly we were overall very pleased with the resort."

"Marrakech has been on my shortlist for a long time—and our first trip to Africa didn’t disappoint! Surround by the Atlas Mountains and poolside by a family-managed, farm to table resort, Amira and Zac were incredibly hospitable from the arrival and the Moroccan cuisine was delicious. Five stars all around!"

"Superb relaxing getaway near the Atlas mountains after a few busy days in Marrakesh. Really attentive staff, multiple different rooftop areas to eat food from. Excursions include horse riding and mountain biking(2hrs in the morning sun is not for the faint hearted. Air conditioned tent with netflix and Amazon Prime available to watch before bed Really enjoyed our stay"
