Annual stay
We've celebrated birthdays, anniversaries and just enjoyed getting away here. The fenced in property is the perfect place for kids to roam and nothing beats coffee on the front porch in the morning. We look forward to visiting every year. The owners are kind, thoughtful and responsive.

Cousins Trip to Fredericksburg
We planned our first girl cousin trip to Fredericksburg. We had a blast visiting all the wineries, eating good food and sitting outside making smore's at the fireplace. The property was so nice and peaceful and the house worked out great for the number in our party. We have decided our next cousin trip will be back to Fredericksburg and Stonewall.

August Birthdays
Let me say that what you see on this listing is what you get PLUS so much more. First off upon arrival at the farmhouse we met Richard, it was a pleasure. We instantly felt right at home. We loved the farmhouse and the premises. Everything about this place was amazing for us, all the amenities you need just like described, even a safety gate to keep my 16 mth old grandson from going up or down the stairs. The updates in this house for a bit tend to make you forget the age and history of the place. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the patio, the hanging lights in evening, the pecan trees in the yard and the view of a small vineyard. We played with our grandchildren outside and enjoyed some time on the front porch. My grandchildren loved the room they shared with their parents they also enjoyed the play area in that room. The location of the farmhouse was perfect, we were in town with extended family(about 30) only 5 minutes away on the main road. Stonewall is to the left on the main road, Fredricksburg to the right. We visited wineries, downtown Fredricksurg, went antique shopping and celebrated August birthdays and had lots of quality family time. We did not make it to Stonewall so we will definitely have to schedule another stay. We loved everything about the farmhouse and its premises, so yes I definitely recommend the farmhouse and yes we would love to go back. Thank you Dolores and Richard for sharing such a great place where my family made wonderful memories.

Farewell to a friend
A friend is being stationed overseas and this was one last get together before this next adventure and the house was PERFECT fit for the seven of us. The second "bedroom" isn't really a bedroom, just a bigger bed separated from the rest of the twin sized beds dormitory style. There is a master bedroom downstairs. Everything was clean and instructions were clear and helpful. Would stay here again!

One of a Kind
This house in the country was the perfect getaway for our family vacation. Delores communicated through the entire process and the house was amazing. Everything we needed was there. The outdoor patio and backyard were great. The kids loved the upstairs room. Would love to stay here again some time.

Another perfect weekend in the hill country
Staying here has become an annual tradition for our family. My 6 year old draws pictures and writes stories about her favorite place in the world, this farm house. The house has it all, comfortable beds, ample seating indoors and out, a well stocked kitchen and all the entertainment options.

Bachelorette Weekend/Spring Break
We all had the BEST TIME for my bachelorette weekend during spring break and any time we had questions, the host was very quick to respond and very respectful and helpful! Will definitely return!! The cutest house and perfect location to try all my must-have wineries and restaurants during my stay. Very private area and you feel very safe. This house was so relaxing and the living room was very spacious and the couches were so comfy!! Highly recommend this property.

Quiet, comfortable family getaway
We had a wonderful stay and used it as a quiet home base as we visited local parks and attractions. The house was very comfortable and clean with a stocked kitchen. The outdoor fireplace and sitting area was a favorite. Our kids had a blast playing ping pong in the garage and we pulled out the cornhole boards a few times as well. It was also the start of bluebonnet season, and the neighbors flock of sheep had a few lambs that we enjoyed seeing as we passed through the road to the property. Beds and pillows were comfortable, plenty of thoughtful extras. Would recommend and would stay again.

Great Hill Country Property
This property was well-equipped and very comfortable. We wanted a place to spend a couple of days during the holidays with family that provided a little more room than our small condo and it met our needs perfectly. We appreciated the Christmas tree and decorations. It was during the frigid spell before Christmas, so it was too cold to do much outside, but they had the outside fireplace ready to light if we wanted it. The owner was very responsive to any questions we had. Would definitely consider going back in the spring.

This is was perfect for our Bachelorette party
This house is perfect for a group to stay. In tucked in the quite and country but so close to town. The accommodations were just as amazing as the communication with the owner. From the comfortable bedding to the wonderful back porch this house was full of surprises. It was just we needed for make this weekend perfect for our bride to be. We will for sure be back!

Stonewall farm house.
When you arrive make sure you check all available building’s that are at your use. There was a damaged ping pong table and Wes we stayed. The manager of the property did not see it when previous occupancy left. So my family got charged for damage of that table. It cost me an extra $485.00. Not worth the stay.

I am sorry that you felt that you were wrongly charged for the table. But I know for a fact that it was not damaged prior to your arrival. The table is not useable and replacement parts for the bent legs were not available. I go into the house numerous times a week for various reasons, yard work, maintenance, laundry, etc. I have a slim margin and I constantly monitor many aspects of our operation, especially how our guests treat our property. This is just the 2nd time in 7 years that I have charged a guest for damages. And our house is occupied about 45 of 52 weekends a year. I regret that this misfortune has happened.

Charming house
This property was absolutely charming! The house was clean and so cozy! Check in was super easy. The location of the property was so peaceful but close to town. The property manager was nice and super easy to communicate with! Will definitely book this charm again!

Perfect!
This property was easy to rent. It provided the perfect spaces for our group to work in a relaxed environment and to connect with each other as a team. We enjoyed spending time in the living spaces and the beds were just right at night. It was just down the street from our favorite stop of the whole trip- the Vogel peach stand. It’s close enough to town to be right there when we wanted to go explore, but far enough that we felt comfortable and relaxed. I highly recommend!

40th bday celebration
We really enjoyed this house. There was a group of 7, 2 couples 3 girlfriends. It’s a great location, owner has thought of a lot of details, and the house has so much history. We are a very laid back group so this didn’t bother us, but the upstairs bunk room and 2nd bedroom are attached with no door between the 2. I probably just missed that in the description. The house is older ( which I love) but if you are needed good lighting for makeup etc you’ll need something additional. Otherwise I love the location and would stay here again.

Quiet Spaciuos Historic Farmhouse
We enjoyed our stay at the farmhouse. It was spacious and clean. Kitchen and bathrooms looked updated with the latest amenities. Other parts of house they kept the nostalgia of the farmhouse. Outdoor seating area was a hit for us. Kids enjoyed creating huge wood fires for their smores. Road our bikes to the creek and skipped rocks on the water. The house was close to all the wineries near by. 15 min drive to Fredericksburg and Johnson City. Delores reached out to us to make sure everything was in order. Would highly recommend this property.

Pre Bachelorette party
The perfect setting for our pre bachelorette party with my daughter and her new Mother and sisters in law. The house was beautiful, comfortable and very well located for us. The house was well stocked with everything we needed and a few extra touches that made our stay perfect. Dinner by the outdoor fireplace watching the sunset and drinking a little wine was the best ending to a perfect celebration for my daughter’s upcoming wedding. Couldn’t have asked for anything better. We will definitely be staying here again.

Family getaway
We LOVE this property. The Is was our second visit and we already booked our third. With a well stocked kitchen, 3 bathrooms and fabulous outdoor space there is room for everyone. The indoors is beautiful but we spend our mornings with coffee on the front porch and evening playing yard games, grilling and making an outdoor fire.

What a great property. Pictures don’t do it justice. Great place to get away from it all!
We stayed here with our adult children while in town for a wedding. Can’t say enough good things about the property. Host has gone above and beyond to make sure anything you could possibly need is there. Comfy beds made for a great night’s sleep. A great time was had by all. Highly recommend.

Lovely peaceful setting
Our family of 8 was in town for a wedding in Stonewall. The house was just perfect for us! The 6 young adults had their own space upstairs and my husband and I stay downstairs. Kitchen table is perfect for large groups and the outdoor space was fantastic with the fireplace, waterfall, outdoor games and ping pong. Perfect set up for coffee and home cooking with lots of spices on hand. King bed downstairs was like sleeping on a heavenly cloud! Love our stay!

Fantastic house for girls’ trip
This was our second time at this property and it was even better the second time. Firewood and stuff for s’mores was provided for the wonderful outside fireplace. All the beds were comfortable and the kitchen was furnished fabulously.

Perfect Girls trip in the books!!!
Huffman Gasthaus was amazing from start to finish. We have our annual girls trip every June and like to find places that are secluded but secure, comfortable, and clean. This place topped all of that from the gorgeous inside to the beautiful outside. The setting was supreme, the comfort was excellent and the cleanliness was top notch. Many many amenities and stocked. We felt like it was a resort and all wanted to move there! This was our 15th year together and we all think this hit the top of our favorites for sure!!! Dolores is absolutely incredibly wonderful to deal with and helped answer all questions in a flash! Can’t thank you enough for all you do to make this place so special. When we look forward to our trip to unwind and relax, this is the place for all those reasons!! It’s close to everything in a hot minute but far enough away from all the noise and chaos. I highly recommend it! We took so many pictures to always have the best memories here! Just loved it so much!! The goats on the drive up was a fabulous bonus!!

Wonderfully secluded, beautiful property!
We had a fabulous girls' trip at the Huffman Gasthaus for my 40th birthday. It was perfect and exactly what I wanted. Secluded and peaceful, and the patio and outdoor fireplace that sold me was just as beautiful as expected. The sheep on the property were an unexpected surprise (kept to themselves, but nice to watch from afar and driving in). One friend already told her husband she wants to stay there again. Delores was very responsive, kind and helpful. We had everything we needed. The entire experience was wonderful.

Amazing family getaway in wine country
This house is a little gem tucked away in the heart of wine country. My family had a blast staying here and there was plenty of room for everyone. The kids room upstairs was a massive hit with my four kids as there was a bed for everyone. The kitchen was well stocked with plates, glasses and utensils. The table was the perfect size to have all of our family sitting around. There is a detached garage that has a washer and dryer as well as a 2nd refrigerator, which came in very handy. We had very nice weather while we were there and was able to build a fire and entertain in the outdoor living space. Overall this is a great place. The owner had some very nice touches, especially the stock of graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate bars for smores. Thank you for making our trip to the Fredericksburg area so special and I am 100% certain we would definitely stay here again.

5 stars all around
Breathtakingly beautiful land and farmhouse. The upstairs attic/dorm kids room was so perfect for our 3 year old daughter and her 2 cousins ages 9 and 3. The children's book collection and toys allowed me to share a lot of my childhood favorite books from the '80s with my daughter. We were able to use the dryer outlet in the garage for seamless Tesla charging (with the 10-30 adaptor)...great place to stay for EV drivers. Delores the host was wonderfully responsive and great to communicate with. This is by far the nicest place we have stayed in Texas.

Best & Cutest House for a 3 Day Family Vacation

Worth the Wait
We postponed our trip for a year due to Covid and it was worth the wait! The house itself is very accommodating, allowing for family of all ages to enjoy. Loved Our 2nd Visit!
Dolores is the most wonderful host and this historic farmhouse is just a gem! This was our 2nd visit to this property, and we plan to, Lord willing, return again. While there is so much to do in and around Fredericksburg, we also spent much time relaxing at the farmhouse with morning coffee and afternoon wine by the outdoor fireplace! Relaxing farmhouse
This was our third stay at this house and we always enjoy it! The house has a great setup that is convenient and comfortable. The outdoor spaces are the best from the rockers on the screened in front porch to the back patio and fireplace, it all makes for a very enjoyable stay. The owner is very easy to communicate with and very responsive. Our only complaint this time was that the kitchen area and appliances were not as clean as our other visits.

Great space for large group and enjoying outside!
I recently stayed at this property for a friend trip and the common spaces were so great for a large group. We loved spending time outside with the outdoor fireplace! Just as an FYI. the upstairs bedrooms were all one large room with no doors.

Awesome property in a great location
The property was perfect. Huge lot for kids to run around, walkable distance to the river. Something we really needed at this time. It was very relaxing. Kids had fun watching the farm animals. the property has been renovated and has 3 bedrooms. We had fun playing pingpong, soccer and grilling. Delores was very responsive and prompt and that made the vacation even more enjoyable. Have already recommended the property to a few friends.
