​We had an absolutely wonderful stay here during our driving trip through Norway. The location is truly perfect for tourism—it served as an ideal, convenient home base for our sightseeing and exploring the beautiful fjords and surrounding scenery. On top of the great location, the staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. We highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a perfect place to stay while taking in the sights!

Havila Hotel Geiranger is basically the ultimate anniversary flex. The view is so jaw dropping it feels like Norway hired special effects just for your window. Cozy rooms, calm vibes, and that “wow” moment every time you look outside and the romance is on autopilot. If you want a stay that feels like a love letter wrapped in a fjord panorama, this hotel delivers. Truly the best view in Geiranger, and the perfect anniversary gift. Plus a great breakfast buffet was included. We also enjoyed drinks at the bar and played pool. They also have a huge chess set outside. We got to check in early too which was a bonus!

Rather a disappointing stay, alarm went off several times early in the morning. Room rather basic considering what it cost. But the hotel was in a great location.

Cruise ships were parked in front of hotel most of the time. So instead of seeing the fjords, you see a cruise ship. The ship left at 9pm but another was back at 630 am. Difficult to find where to check in. When asking employees where to check in they snapped “reception “ and were very annoyed I didn’t know where that was. There is no place to park when checking in. Expedia says there is parking. There is not. You need to go find a paying space. There is only 1 way to enter the building (that I could find). That means you have to cross at a yield sign on a blind turn. People do not yield and I was almost hit each time. I don’t leave bad reviews. I was so excited to stay here, but was so disappointed. Breakfast was good. However, I was given no info at check in. I looked it up if there was breakfast and then had to go find it. I would stay up the road if I came back.

Åkte båt från Hellesylt hit på Geirangerfjorden, fina vyer. Mysig ort. Bra frukost, bra rum. Tyvärr låg rummet mot gatan, men man hade en underbar utsikt från de övriga lokalerna. Värt varenda krona.

Beautiful View

We liked our overnight stay here. The staff was friendly and the room had a lot of convenient offerings like a refrigerator, an electric kettle, and heated bathroom floors. Parking was a little unclear, but right on the other side of the street, and breakfast was a little light on options. Otherwise, we had a sea view and it was worth it. It had a lovely view of the fjord.

Nice views and balcony. Very walkable. Hotel is a little outdated. We were told there was free parking at time of booking and then when we got there was told that changed and was now about $50/day usd. Staff was very friendly and they accommodated us with a baby crib!

Vi hade sett fram i mot att på detta hotell som ser så fanatiskt ut från utsidan för att fira vår bröllopsdag, vi betalade extra 400 Nok för att få fjord utsikten totalt 2,900 Nok men rummet var slitet med trasiga utemöbler, engångs plastglas trasig papperskorg utan lock i badrummet kanske dags se över rummen lite.

Fantastic surroundings. But the overall impression of the hotel and our room is old and a bit in need of an upgrade/overhaul. The breakfastbuffet was ok, but not up to standard compared to e.g. Scandic, Clarion or similiar known brands.

Great reception, helpful and quick check in . Room was clean with excellent view of the fjord. Buffett breakfast layout was inadequate. Many dirty tables with no one to clean the tables. Other tables way out and too much furniture difficult to move aaround in the restaurant.

The fjord view is stunning. That said, be mindful cruise ships port and thus your view will include a cruise ship and the thousands of people they bring in daily. Tours busses also drop off hundreds of people at this hotel and thus make dining and such incredibly hectic. Also note, the bar is open on the balcony which allows for loud drunk people through the night hours. The most peaceful part of our stay was between 2am - 6am. The staff is wonderful!

Hotellrom tydelig renovert siden vi var der forrige gang! Minus: Vanskelig å finne parkering midt på dagen. Hotellet har ikke egne parkeringsplasser! Måtte betale kr 550,- for en dags parkering! Union hotell har egen parkering!

Fint, komfortabelt og rent, men litt slitent

Flott beliggenhet med utrolig utsikt fra rommet. Vi fikk rom i øverste etasje med balkong mot sjøen. Rommet fremstod rent og ryddig, men bærer preg av å være godt brukt. Hadde hatt godt av litt oppgradering. Frokosten var helt grei, men bestod av det viktigste. Sengen var utrolig god, og hotellet får et pluss for dobbel pute. Beroligende utsikt utover fjorden fra sengen
