We went here over spring break for a long weekend. The draw was the animals for our 12 year-old, and we weren't disappointed. There are many horses, chickens, cows, and 4 cats. The hosts were friendly, and their 23 year-old daughter took our daughter around to feed and pet the animals twice a day (she is wonderful with kids!). Cats and chickens were available all day if we wanted to feed or pet them.
The apartment next to the barn is a very large room with a king (?) and 2 twins. You will need to be able to sleep through noise in the morning, as the kitchenette is in the same room with the beds, and there are faint sounds from the barn on the other side of the wall. We always bring earplugs and white noise--it was quieter than your typical motel anyway. The kitchen area has a Keurig, 12 cup coffee maker, dishes, a microwave, a very large mini-fridge, and an electric griddle (for cooking fresh eggs--yum!). Downtown Sturgeon Bay is 15 minutes away, including a Walmart and grocery store on the way.
We highly recommend this place for its cleanliness, the easygoing and friendly hosts, and the animal experience close to some fun spots in Door County. If we return, we would definitely stay here again.
