"The elevator was scary. It makes grinding noises when coming to a stop. When I reported this no one got back to me. We took the stairs twice the noise was so obvious and we are in our seventies. On another note; when we couldn't find a medication on checkout day, I called the front desk suspecting someone may have entered our room when we were gone all day, asking for security. I got a recording. We found the medications after leaving a message to see security. We were treated with rude hostility by the desk woman who claimed to be the only "Security" and how offended she was that we would accuse her staff of entering our room. We did not accuse anyone; only requested speaking with security. I apologized for the misunderstanding which was met with indignant acceptance. I am a retired Police Officer and am used to being treated rudely so no big deal I guess. Kind of put a damper on the whole trip though. The elevator needs to be attended. It sounds dangerous."

"We stayed here for 5 nights. It was clean and ready to go. A little bit tight around the bed but very minor complaint. Gathered tree limbs and built natural fire in the pit for smores after the hot tub. Wish we had come a little later in the year when leaves were changing but that's on us. Located about 10 mins from downtown. I recommend if you choose to do activities while on vacation then pick ones like 30 to a hour away and enjoy the scenic drives."

"We really enjoyed our time at Barrel Ridge. The cabin was spotless and every bed was comfortable. We spent most of our time in the gorgeous saltwater pool. We paid to heat it since the pool is in the shade the majority of the day. Outdoor fireplace with the TV was great at night."

"The views were stunning, great location, and beautiful cabin. However, there were some challenges with the basics like the broiler plate was missing from the oven, a door shelf was missing from the fridge (so couldn't use), the charcoal grill was questionable, some kitchen essentials were not available, all of the sink drains were missing, no where to put toiletries in shower, an outlet had been damaged, part of the deck rail was missing (dangerous for small children), towel racks were missing (with old attachments still on the wall), noticeable water stains running down walls a couple of places, and a kitchen draw completely fell out when opened and could not get it back on track. Overall, we had a nice stay. I think it would be good for the owner to live in the cabin for a few days in order to reassess the typical conveniences of everyday life in the cabin. We would recommend this cabin, just be mindful to bring some of your essentials."
