Everything was great. Especially the staff. Komang is an outstanding cook. And everyone was friendly and helpful. My only problem was the room they gave me was discribed as having AC. It did not. I might suggest they correct that for future clientel.

Hello Mark, thank you so much for your nice comment, it seems you liked your stay in Puri Mangga...Concerning your critics: Sorry, I checked the description, yes on the official website there is an air con mentionned, but if I go to the "intern website for Hotels" there was a note "equipped with fan..." Anyway I changed it and we have to wait a bit until it is in public...We hope to see you again, all the best from Hans and the Puri Mangga Family....So it would have been no problem, if you informed the staf and they would have givven you another room or villa.

Property was a little out of Lovina Beach, but was only a 5min car ride away. Lunch and dinning options were limited at the resort, so if you didnt like the available options, this meant you were heading into Lovina Beach or beyond to find a restaurant that had a wider menu range.

Hans and Melli are possibly the best hosts we have encountered on our recent stay at this majestic resort. From the reception to our checkout it was faultless and every request we made was done seamlessly. Time was our only limit as we wish we could have stayed longer, but the resort was fully booked. That alone says it all. 5 star from s.

Beautiful, relaxing, autentic, great food and staf
Puri Manga is the most wondefull place. We loved the garden feel, the pool area (and the view from the pool), the small houses you stay in, the restaurant, the bar and the spa area. There is a clear red line, calmness and authentic style in the overall design of the ressort, which we really liked. The moment we arrived, we imediatly felt welcome and was greeted with a cold drink and a small wet towel for washing hands and/or face. The staff is very friendly and service minded, even compared to the overall great Bali standard. The food was great, even better then other twice as expensive resorts we stayed at (again compared to the great Bali standard) and the spa area is great. We booked a 5 hours tour with our own driver, which was put together after our wishes (waterfalls, budhist tempel and hot springs), but there are many more places to see, and Puri Manga is a great hub for trips in the nothern part of Bali. And yes, the last 100 meters up the the resort are a bit steep. But inqurie the resort to send a driver to pick you up, if you cannot find a decent driver yourself :) It was my second stay at Puri Manga and i will definitely come back again, because it its the most relaxing and beautiful place to stay in Bali, and their staff are the best :)

It is a quite nice place but too many flaws. Location is very remote. The very unpleasant going up and down very steep road literally only fit 1 car ( you need a car that strong enough to drive here). The staff are nice. Bedroom is ok clean some wall paint is chipping. I am not a big fan of the decoration. Too many painting and sculpture hanging. I feel like i am sleeping and being watch (not sure if this is some sort of tradition), definitely not my cup of tea. The bathroom only flush 1 time then we have to wait for good 10 minutes, maybe more, to flushed the 2nd time. I don't know for sure but, seems like we are the only guest there. When we are about to check out, the lobby is dark, pitch black (yes it is early in the morning since we are going for the early dolphin tour). Originally we want to come back to the hotel after our boat tour. But because of the condition of road getting there is hard to pass and kind of dangerous. we change our mind. If you like quiet and remote place. This is a good choice.

Hello and thank you for your comment, which is in some parts not allright.Let me expalin:The road: There were trucks coming when we built our resort. So why had trucks no problem to drive down heavy loaded, but some small tourist vehicles have big problems if I understand your critics right??? On our website there is a description of the location Puri Mangga is and how to get there...So after talking to my manager, she told me you came @ 8pm and left at 5 am. On the 15th August it was the only day we had only a few guests the rest of the months is quite occupied, but early in the morning )they were sleeping at 5 in the morning. I wonder why you didn't order an early breakfast. We serve it often, no problem.Decoration: When we built the hotel, we didn't want to create an average villa you will find in every average hotel in the world. We created a mix outside Toscanny style and inside kind of Balinese style or at least some Indonesian style, so the guests can feel they are on Bali. All our furnitures are handmade from teak wood and the paintings are from Balinese and Indonesian artists All our other guests and we don't see any problem on contrary. All of them like it. And plus, if you book a room, you saw the pics on the booking site or on our website, there is from almost every villa inside and outside a photo and you could have seen what kind of rooms you can expect. So I wonder why you did book a room, where you see the pics before and you see it is not your style and then you are complaining about about the decoration. That makes no sense for us...Problems with the paint in your room: I also can't see, last November and shortly before the boarders of Indonesia opened again we did renovate all the buildings..And again coming back to the road, I was there also beginning of the year and I couldn't see any problems. You are really one out of three or four people who were complaining about it. And by the way... we have a shuttle for free during the day, our drivers could have brought you down to the dolphin boats and up again and you have to pay nothing. It is just the way to ask... When you arrived, our girls who are welcoming you explain exactly what to do and what are the possibilities.We had for a long time (more than 2 years), even we were open no guests at all, April this year it started slowly again and we are really happy about it and then we see your comment. Normally we don't answer so detailed, but we wanted that our futire guests have the possibility to read our answer to get a good and objective impression about Puri Mangga. Sorry that you didn't like our place, but at least 98% of all the others love it... And you have been there less than 9 hours so we hope the rest of your holidays on Bali were ok. It's a very calm resort remotely located in a hilly village area of Lovina with a beautiful sea view and sunset point.. This is an ideal location for someone looking for calm and private place for retreat.. The staff's hospitality was amazing.

Arrived midnight. It had been raining. Viewed 2 rooms both were leaking in the roof. The 3rd one had a terrible blocked view compared to first 2 rooms. In the morning, woken by a loud wailing sound. I never came here to be disturbed. Management were great when I told them in morning I’m leaving. There is no way I’m staying. Management did not charge me. Arranged for a car to take me to The Lovina, a nearby hotel. Management allowed me to call Expedia customer service for help. Management of this hotel listened to me. For this management, I give 4 stars! Thank you for listening and responding positively to my complaint. You make me confident to recommend you and rate you highly, regardless of my experience.

Dear Guest, thank you for your comment. There are just some things I would like to mention. As you arrived quite late, there was a misunderstanding with the security, the superior room you booked, there was a leak, yes. We had a heavy wind plus incerdible much of rain, so one of the tiles got loose, this infected also the room besides the one, what he showed you also. It was repaired the next days, by the way. Then he gave you a deluxe villa as a free upgrade with a really nice view and this view is not at all blocked as you wrote. In the morning, there was a Hindu ceremony, they were praying because of a cremation which took place 2 hours later. As you are from India and you have nearly the same religion, you should understand that. It is not every day, but sometimes there is a "loud wailing sound". you are in a different country with different customs and traditions... As foreigners we all have to accept it. Ok, you booked for 2 nights, you left our resort after one night incl. brakfast and you refused to pay that night plus the other one you booked. Our management did everything to make your leaving as easy as possible for you not to spoil your holidays. So it is fair enough to give us 4 stars... I was there also in that period and I was talking again with my manager, so this is the quintessence of our discussion. Best regards

What an absolute hidden gem in the North of Bali. Set high on a hill with views that stretch as far as the eyes can see. We had the pleasure of staying 2 wonderful nights. The staff are welcoming, attentive and friendly.

Wir waren leider sehr enttäuscht. Laut der Beschreibung und Bilder sollten wir in einer grünen Oase ankommen. Vor Ort sah es leider ganz anders aus. Wir haben eine sehr vertrocknete Anlage vorgefunden. Uns ist bewusst, dass wir zu Beginn der Regenzeit und nach der langen Trockenzeit angereist sind. Aber andere Hotelanlagen in direkter Nähe waren sehr grün und wurden vermutlich bewässert. Die Toilettenbrille war schon sehr alt und dreckig. Auch hier ist mir bewusst, dass die Toilette draußen steht, aber in anderen Hotels haben wir das so auch nicht erlebt. Wir sind nach zwei Nächten abgereist, weil wir unseren Urlaub dort nicht weiter verbringen wollten. Haben leider die letzten 3 Nächte vom Hotel nicht zurück erstattet bekommen, obwohl die Beschreibung anders war. Expedia hat uns zumindest ein wenig entschädigt. Das Frühstück ging insgesamt, vor allem die Fruchtplatte und der Saft waren sehr gut.

Hallo und danke für Ihren Kommentar. Möchte kurz zu Ihren Kritikpunkten eingehen: 1.Rückerstattung: in unserern FAQ's, auch bei Expedia steht, dass es bei no show oder früherer Abreise keine Rückerstattung gibt. Wenn natürlich ein Grund wie Krankheit oder Ähnliches vorliegt, sind wir immer bereit kulant zu sein. Ihr Grund war aber nicht Krankheit, sondern - so wörtlich - es hat Ihnen bei uns nicht gefallen und Sie möchten wieder nach Ubud, da sei es besser... Dies ist für uns leider kein Rücktrittsgrund. 2. Trockenheit: Wir hatten dieses Jahr einen sehr trockenen Sommer, es hat von April bis November nicht mehr geregnet. Da unser Ressort etwas erhöht (ca. 150 m über dem Meer) liegt und der Untergrund felsig ist, haben wir leider keine Möglichkeit nach einer eigenen Quelle zu bohren, d.h. wir sind von den lokalen Wassersuppliern abhängig. Dieses Wasser reicht immer für unsere Gäste, aber leider nicht für fast 2 Hektar Garten... Blumen etc. wurden alle bewässert, aber nicht die riesigen Grasflächen und das Reisfeld (ca. 2 Hektar). In der flachen Gegend ist dies etwas anderes, da sich dort überall Quellen befinden und sogar in der Trockenzeit Reis angebaut wird. Deswegen haben Sie auch in dieser Gegend die grünen Hotelanlagen gesehen. Ich war kurz vor Ihnen in Bali und habe mir einige Anlagen bei uns in der Nähe angeschaut, überall die gleiche Situation... 3. Bedingt durch die Witterung sind manchmal die Tolettendeckel etwas angegriffen, sie werden aber von uns laufend erneuert und wir hatten auch deswegen nie Beschwerden. Allerdings, wenn es Sie gestört hat, warum haben Sie nicht die Hotelleitung informiert? Innerhalb kürzester Zeit hätten Sie einen neuen Toilettendeckel bekommen. Wir sind ein sehr gästeorientiertes Haus und die Zufriedenheit der Gäste ist unser oberstes Gebot... Trotzdem Danke für Ihren Besuch in unserem Ressort.

Super cute and friendly in hills above Lovina
This place is away from all the other tourist trappings down in Lovina yet the hotel still offers free transport via a shuttle down into Lovina should you wish to go down there. This place is tucked in the hills above Lovina for great panoramic views and sounds only of nature and the countryside. The staff are super friendly and take the time to learn and call you by your name. I stayed in the Lumbung and although no air conditioning I was fine and cool enough at night in late October/early November. Breakfast is absolutely amazing with fresh, homemade bread and jams.

They certainly try hard but this property simply doesn't match the description. it is not by the sea and shouldn't suggest otherwise. I felt like the staff were trying to extract as much money from us as possible, suggesting no local taxis were available and forcing us to use their service which obviously comes at a cost. Also it should mention that the room includes an outside toilet which is an acquired taste when looking a lizard in the eye while sitting prone on the toilet. I also felt very uneasy with the noise of someone walking around the outside of the villa at about 6 am. Disappointing hotel who should be more honest about the property and respect their guests more.

Dear Matthew, we feel sorry, that you haven't been content with us. As our resort is called seaview resort, so the name implicates, that it is not seashore. Furthermore are meanwhile 100s of pics in the net, where you can see that you have a nice seaview, but not that we are on the beach. Our staff always try to explain what you can do. Our 2 hotelvans are may´be not the cheapest, but reliable. 99% like our outdoor showers and when somebody goes around at 6 pm, then it is our security who takes care about you. Sorry Matthew you are the only one since years who is so uncontent about our property, We feel sorry about that and we hope that you found a "better" hotel on Bali. We are lucky that 99% like the resort and come up to 4-5 times back.

PuriManga er først og fremmest et super hyggeligt og roligt hotel med en dejlig udsigt. En lækker pool. Der er transportservice ned til byen/vandet fra kl. 10 - 18 hver dag og uden for dette tidsrum koster det lidt penge at blive bragt eller hentet.

Prachtig hotel, rustig gelegen
Prachtig hotel op een rustige plek. Met de shuttle bus met 15 minuten op het strand. Mooie, grote kamer. Heerlijk eten en ontzettend aardig personeel.

三泊したが、利用客は、私たちだけ！ 雨季という時期のせいか？確かに遠くの海原は霞がち、プールは、寒くて入り難い。 せっかくの眺めの良さが、もったいない。 スタッフは、明るくて、フレンドリーだ。 宿の周りには、集落が有るものの、散策を楽しむようなものは、何もない。 よって、三食とも、宿のレストランを利用するしかない。 でも、毎晩、2品程度の日替わりメニューを、用意して、もてなしてくれた。 山の中腹にあり涼しい。乾季に再訪してみたい。

Hello and thank you for your comment. You were alone in the ressort, because of the outburst of the volcan Mount Agung. The sea is during the rainy season often grey. Whenever you wanted to go to the beach and Lovine, we have a free shuttle you can use every day until 6 pm, after 6 it cost €5.- for the car up to 8 people..

Wonderful stay at Puri Mangga
The rooms were spacious, clean and aesthetic. The outdoor bathroom was romantic. The staff was hospitable and helpful. The food and beverages were great and value for money. The location, however, is cut off from the beach and like many places in Bali, the inclines and slopes are too steep and was difficult to navigate on our rented scooter.

Dieses Hotel hatten wir zum Ende unserer Java und Bali Rundreise gebucht und wr der ideale Platz zum Relaxen. Eine 90 Minuten Massage war der krönende Abschluss.

Tot rust komen
Lovina is niet de moeite waard maar dit resort is genoeg reden om gewoon een paar dagen tot rust te komen. Vanaf de eerste blik bij aankomst diep onder de indruk. Prachtige ligging een echte mooie Indonesische tuin. Alles keurig en strak. Zwembad waar je bij zonsondergang jaloersmakende foto's kan maken. Villa's netjes en sfeervol met veel aandacht voor details. Buitendouche met heerlijk warm water en paradijselijke planten. Het personeel is super correct. Het eten is lekker maar naar onze smaak toch iets te verwesters, maaar wel op een hele goede manier. Het is dat wij liever iets lokaler eten maar voor de andere gasten was dat volgens mij niet zo. Al met al ik raad het iedereen aan hier een paaar dagen tot rust te komen.

Très bel hôtel avec dd beaux jardins et une grande piscine. Vue superbe sur la mer et le coucher de soleil. Personnels aux petits soins pour les clients. Excellents repas le soir et massages à faire.

Excellent resort if you want quiet with great food, excellent staff, really nice pool and outlook. The staff can offer some excellent trips. The cooking class with the local food market trip is excellent.

Stunning resort
Lovely place. Beautiful gardens extremely well kept, and staff are super friendly and genuinely very sweet and helpful. They can't do enough for you. Food in restaurant is delicious and reasonably priced. Only a couple of things on the menu each evening, depending on what they got in the market that day I guess, so always super fresh, and prepared from scratch. Accommodation (we had the family room) is very comfortable, and interestingly laid out in traditional Balinese style with lots of artwork and handmade Balinese furniture. Local area surrounding the resort is real Bali. Paddy fields and kampung life right outside. However, it is very well located for all the highlights of Northern Bali, which itself is stunning. Forget the South, this is the real deal! Unfortunately the weather when we were there was very wet, with the rainy season hanging on an extra couple of weeks longer than usual. However, this did not dampen our stay, as the resort itself is such a nice place to hangout and simply admire the real Bali laid out right in front of you. We had a toddler with us (18 months), and had to watch her like a hawk, as the resort is not the most family friendly if you have a child this particular age with a lot of hard stone floors, and sharp edged furniture (also worth bringing a travel cot and child seat for mealtimes, as ones they have not really suitable for this age). Slightly older kids would be absolutely fine though. ps WIFI is excellent!

Great service and small quaint resort
Our stay was great. Great and friendly staff who learn your name from the minute you step in. I loved that! The rooms and area was lovely but quite small...it is a boutique though. The only concerns we had were that (1) the resort advertised two of certain things such as two pools but in reality, some things are only reserved for those who rent the largest house. (2) There was a rat (or very large mouse) that woke us up every night when he was trying to get into our things. I woke one night and found him in my suitcase. Scared us both! (3) No coffee maker in the room. (4) Limited food menu Despite these things, it's a wonderful place and I would STILL recommend it

Lite "offside" men genomtrevligt. Vill man bada i poolen, läsa, wiifee funkar utmärkt, så är detta helt rätt. Fin utsikt, bra frukost, även middagen var utöver det vanliga. Kan starkt rekommenderas.

Mooi hotel
We hebben hier 1 nacht overnacht. Wat een ontzettend mooi verblijf. Een hele mooie ligging maar wel ver van het dorp. Voor ons geen probleem we hebben genoten van het schitterende uitzicht en mooi zwembad. Het eten is ook zeker een moeite waard. Echt een aanrader als je van rust houd.
