Great location

We’ve been to Sun Valley many times, but this was our first time staying in Elkhorn. Very quiet area, and easy access to Dollar. We loved the big bedrooms, fireplace and privacy. Dog friendly, kid friendly.

Comfortable Condo close to skiing

Very cozy condo in close proximity to skiing. I'd prefer a little closer to other activities but it worked just fine for us, although it as a bit big for 2 people and a dog.

Nice clean, comfortable condo

The place itself was nice and comfortable in a good location close to town and the ski hill. Downside is that it is part of a management company and you have to sign an additional form for them. VRBO should have a tag when listing showing that it’s not a private owner and is owned by a company, this is part of what’s causing the housing crisis in many resort communities. I also did not appreciate being harassed by the cleaning crew to vacate the place early.

The condo's carpet is dirty and there's a mouse in the house. The view is of a small pond and the neighbors. Nice big patio deck. It was not communicated to us before we arrived that both neighborhood pool/hot tub complexes were closed. Very disappointing.

Great Property, Needs Finishing Touches

Loved the convenient location and the roominess of the property, but some of the basic conveniences were missing, ie. breadboard, sponge, dishcloth, full tray of ice in the freezer and iron. Had we brought our dog, the wide spaces between the railings on the upstairs interior balcony would have been dangerous. I'd worry about small children falling through, as well.

Disappointing

The house smells terrible and is very dated. Furniture is old and very dirty, we don’t sit down. Duct tape used as railing for shelves in The fridge. Definitely the worst rental we’ve ever experienced.

Terrible!

Unfortunately, this place was not as depicted. It smelled of urine and was musty. There was nowhere for a family of four to eat within the condo without moving furniture. The bedding was held together with safety pins. It is also located near a construction site and in a complex where there are loud parties at night.

Dated and run down

Let me start by saying the location is great and the amenities of the pickleball courts and pool were great. Easy to access and friendly staff at the Elkhorn Lodge. However, the actual condo was less than subpar. The furniture was threadbare and dated. In fact, the couch and chair in the living room had holes and pet hair. The bedding was old and worn as well. This was the lowest quality rental I have ever stayed at. We actually found sheets in the closet and covered the furniture so we felt comfortable sitting down. It seems like the reply comments are nothing more than empty words. Trust the comments…not worth it.

Awful mattress. Upstaris shower/bath non functioing. Hot water heater failing- couldnt take a hot bath as hot water ran out very fast. Property management not very responosve. big run around via texting with vacasa- with "we will see what we can do"- with no resolution- my onlky vacation and honestly it was a nightmare

Dog friendly but outdated

Fees charged were outrageous. No wonder they can’t afford to update. Mold in the bathroom ceiling. Stains on the carpet floors. Needs painted. Super outdated furniture and bad decor. Shower head hits you in the chest. Great location and dog friendly comes at a high cost….we paid the cost, didn’t get what we deserved. Left a day earlier so we didn’t have to stay another night there. A travel lodge may have been comparable. Should have been better for what we paid. Not as advertised.

Tired, Dirty Condo

I had very modest expectations. They were not met. Carpet and furniture were dirty and stained. Kitchen was poorly equipped. Shower curtain liners (there were no actual shower curtains) were moldy. Door knob came off; hot water kettle leaked badly; pan was put away dirty; washing machine had been broken for a month with no action. I was very disappointed in Vrbo and Vacasa. It is apparent to me at least that there are no minimum standards your properties must meet and maintain.

Falling apart

Bathroom fan doesn't work, Bathroom vanity light needed light bulbs, glass light broken. Shower handle falls off. Washer machine had sign that hadn't workerd since July 2023, glass sliding door blinds not working missing panels as well. Bedrooms door knobs falling off. Fireplace would not turn on. Called customer service never saw maintenance people or heard from. Would like some reimbursement.

Indian Springs stay

Our first impression of this property was not favorable due to the filthy carpets in the living areas. Dark grease-like stains throughout the condo were present. It's a pet friendly condo, however these stains do not appear to be caused by pets. These carpets need to be cleaned or replaced as part of general maintenance on this rental property. The instructions for lighting the gas fireplace are incorrect and need to be updated. One of the wall units in the living room is non-functional. The air vents on the heating units are filthy and need to be cleaned out. Overall cleanliness was OK but there appears to be a general lack of maintenance in this older unit. For the rental and maintenance fees being charged this is not a good value. By the way, what views are there supposed to be in this "condo with a view"? All we could see were the condo units next door.

Enjoy decades past in this 1960’s condo.

Super honest part of review. Just aesthetics. Too much very used furniture in the living room, beds/mattresses are very uncomfortable. Kitchen super tiny and the refrigerator blocks cabinets and drawers. Needs fresh paint to cover musty smell and overall remodel. Washer and dryer from the 60’s and baseboard heaters were new to me. Patio was a total mess so we didn’t spend much time out there. However, it was pretty cold and it snowed several days the beginning of May so we wouldn’t have enjoyed it anyway. If you want inexpensive & old doesn’t bother you than this is your place. We had been staying in a hotel for a week prior without a dresser or closet or kitchenette so this helped with organizing and spreading out a little. Plus it was nice to be able to eat at home because Sun Valley is super expensive to eat out every meal. Again, It was Super inexpensive, if it were nicer it would cost more per night. Really depends on your budget and your taste. This review is simply a case of champagne taste on a beer budget. It worked out fine.

Dirty condo, poor customer service

The Cons: The entire condo smelled like animal urine. We were charged an extra fee to bring our 4 lb dog, and I can't see why since they obviously don't use this fee to clean the carpets. The bedrooms weren't bad, but the whole main floor living area reeked. Additionally, I called to ask about the wifi and was told we would have high-speed internet. What is actually provided is some sort of community-wide non-secure "free" wifi, with 5mbps download speed. If you want to work and your vpn doesn't allow accessing on a public account you won't be able to use it. I called EVERY DAY to ask for help, a partial refund, something, and got the run around every time. I even went to the local VACASA office twice, and it was closed for remodeling, so there was no one there to help. Condo was run down despite earlier reviews in 2021 where manager claimed that the owners were looking to re-decorate and re-carpet. The Pros: good location, reasonably comfortable beds. Deck near stream was nice to sit on.

Not a good place to stay very old and dirty

When we arrived it was snowing and cold and the condo was colder than outside no heaters were on so we had to turn them all on hi and it took almost 2 hrs to get the place warm. All the heaters had a thick dusting on them and smelled like it was burning something. There was dog hair or cat hair left on the velvet chairs from previous renter. Blinds were broken, table leg was broken and seemed like it was placed back together but not fixed. There was hair in both showers in the drain which clogged it until I had to remove the hair. Dishes were put back dirty had to wash them before using. Just seemed like it didn’t get cleaned well at all which is frustrating when you pay more for the cleaning fee than the night rental. Smelled musty and noticed in the downstairs bathroom there was black mold growing on the ceiling. My family came home very sick after staying here from the mold and dirty ness. I am waiting on a response from the owner after 2 weeks about the mold and how it caused my family health problems. I am still sick with chest pains and headaches and no response from them. I would not recommend staying here unless you want to get mold or dust poison.

Great spot and great value!

I was offered earlier check-in and late check-out, always a bonus. Everything was clean, extra blankets and a fully stocked kitchen. Nice fireplace and a great location close to everything. This place really feels tucked in and secluded. My only mention to other festivals in winter is to dress warm on first arrival. The heat wasn't running and took a few hours to stabilize. I will definitely consider this place on a future stay, thank you!!!
