「When we go to Sutter Creek we usually stay at the hotel Sutter and have enjoyed it. This trip however did't go near as well. Check in was fine, but the girl was a bit confused on some items, such as, that in the morning there would be muffins and things and coffee starting at 6am - didn't happen. As we were settling into our room a cockroach ran across the carpet (I did tell front desk). Wasn't clear where the ice machine was, but eventually found it. We didn't realize we were put in the room...

「We were very disappointed in the condition of the hotel. Not like all the other Best Westerns that we have stayed at. The room was not especially clean, the TV didn't work and they had no one to fix it until the next day. I will be calling the manager to ask for some kind of compensation. We are Diamond members and expected a much better experience.」

「Placerville is an adorable historic gold mining town with a lovely main street with lots of cute shops and restaurants. The historic Cape Hotel looks exactly like it did 150 years ago in all of its old photos. It is like stepping back in time. It has the second oldest working elevator west of the Mississippi.
