“There are definitely some house issues that l see from other reviews that were still present during our stay. Not sure if they were communicated to Jennifer directly or just left in the review, but l addressed them in an email to her and she was very responsive so l hope they will be corrected for future renters. But these were just minor irritations compared to how wonderful this house was for our group. The location was great. Granted you would not walk to the slopes with all of your gear, etc……

“This year’s gathering of our ever growing tribe of children, grands and canine landed us as close to the Heavens as possible. This property was perfectly set up for sleeping arrangements, meal sharing, dog convenience and activities for all ages… the climbing wall was especially popular with our young gymnast and the free-standing video arcade was nostalgically fun for all ages. “We traveled here with 6 adults and 3 children and had a wonderful time! The cottage is in a beautiful location and close enough to get to stores and restaurants. It’s incredibly clean, well-appointed and perfect for big groups. The owners are very friendly. We enjoyed exploring outside and playing games with the kids. There are also lots of hiking options nearby. We were there for a wedding but we would definitely come back!”

“This little housse is like a very good cabin. 2 private bedrooms with one shared bath. Very tastefully decorated. It had everything we needed for a good stay. New appliances and heating system, back deck has wonderful private view of the woods. Very quiet and restful, yet right in the middle of Staunton. All amenities were minutes from the house. Very clean and had a very interesting history to the house. Yet great modern renovation. Would definitely visit again. The host even left wine for us……

“A group of friends stayed at Big Springs B&B for a weekend trip to Highland County. The house was exactly as described, clean, and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare a meal and we appreciated the farm-raised beef in the freezer. The setting is beautiful. We enjoyed hearing the whippoorwills at dusk and seeing the milky way at night.”

“From the moment we arrived, we loved this place. Lots of space to spread out and three en-suites! The kitchen was a joy to use and had everything needed for family dinners for four. Restored extremely well … no wonder this place won an award. The only drawback was the parking … a Tahoe takes up pretty much the whole space, although we managed to squeeze in a small VW. “This house is very close to downtown Staunton and I walked there every morning and afternoon with my dog. The property manager is incredibly responsive and check-in was easy with a code to the lockbox provided a few days in advance. The kitchen is well stocked and my family and I cooked breakfast and dinner most days. “We were in town for a wedding and wanted a place where multiple couples could stay. We loved the house. It is beautifully decorated and had plenty of space. The kitchen is well stocked, the beds and linens were comfortable and towels were provided. The views of the river were beautiful and there was wood for the fire pit. One of our friends even did yoga down by the river. The hosts were incredibly responsive. Highly recommend staying here!”
