Great Tahoe retreat

The home is well stocked, warm and inviting with plenty of space. It’s in a very good location, close to the lake and town. We had an excellent time.

Nice House and Great view

The house was great for my group of 8 and 9 would have been comfortable. There is a beautiful view of the lake and mountains from the front room. There is not walking access to the lake, as far as I could tell, but it is a short drive to many beaches and and shops.

Not the best, not the worst

The family area with the view of the lake, with the stone fireplace. Heat in the master bath. Kitchen was well outfitted. Heat worked well.

Not the place you want to stay in Tahoe

The pictures of this home are very deceiving. It desperately needs a deep cleaning and is filled with dust, cobwebs, and stained carpets (to put it lightly). For the first 3 days, we had no wifi/internet/cable whatsoever and the 'local team', ie property managers, refused to ask Spectrum to bring a technician to the home and just kept telling us what Spectrum's voicemail told them. We kept being told 'this happens often near the lake' and that not having any internet was NOT a viable reason to be moved to another home. It's interesting they don't let you know any of that BEFORE renting the house. It's 2023, and everyone uses the internet 24/7. My fiance and I work remotely and almost half of our trip turned into rushing out every morning to a Starbucks that was almost 30 mins away to work during the day as well as communicating with Vacasa staff for help over and over. Internet aside, the house is pretty run down. Dollar Point is such a lovely area, so it's really a shame that the home owners don't get new bedding and at least do minor fixes like changing light bulbs and buying pans that are even remotely decent for cooking. Would not recommend this home at all.

Cute house horrible experience with management

Cute older house, with 4 bed-spaces for a large family like ours but we overall had a horrible experience with Vacasa who actually manages the property, not an owner or VROB. We arrived to find sheets an bags of trash in the street and driveway of our rental. My husband collected it, to find that the bear box was crammed full of garbage from the previous guests and could not be closed. As we walked around the property, bags of dog poop, old pizza boxes and ski apparel packaging were strewn around outside. Once inside, the house was cute and cozy, but several outlets didn’t work, there was no hot water in the sink to do dishes, so I had to boil water, and all the wiring for the TV and internet was shoved into an open heating vent. All of that could be dealt with, but once I let Vacasa know that our F250 truck had froze in the blizzard that hit Tahoe 2/22/23 and we needed help sorting out what to do and asked if we could extend our stay, we are not offered any help and told to vacate the property regardless of emergency situation. No offers to transfer us to other open Vacasa properties, of which there were many as most of the Highways were closed. They were happy to evict us and our 3 children and dog into the snow. Honesty will never rent a house managed by Vacasa again.

Great view but dated property

The positive. The property has a wonderful view of the lake. The location was perfect for us. We absolutely love that area. It is our go to choice when we stay in Tahoe. There was a usable wood fire place which was nice , specially on a snowy date. There was enough wood and the house was warm and comfortable. There was a nice washer ( but not usable dryer ) Nice toaster and coffee maker( no coffee though) Dog friendly was a big plus! Big windows The negative The house was pretty dated . The bathroom downstairs had only one lightbulb working out of 3 which made the bathroom very dark. The shower door in that bathroom had a 3M sticker hook used for holding Christmas lights. The dishwasher was incredibly loud ( and antique ) The dryer had not filter and was not usable. It is kind of important when staying for few days with kids and skying. Very limited or no toiletries ( shampoo, body etc) which we usually find when we rent. It was not a big deal for us as I had brought some but it could be useful for others. The fridge too was very dated with not handle ( only the freeze had one) once again not a big deal but it was part of the “dated feel” of the house . Finally the carpet downstairs could use a good shampooing. Although I appreciate the dog friendly feature of the house , I could also smell the pet odor when doing yoga. To summarize, the house is good for a short stay but could use a well needed upgrade ( handles on the fridge and downstairs bathroom. Working light etc)
