Great get away near ski resorts

House was spacious and close to ski resorts. It was well stocked, comfortable and had coffee shops and restaurants within 10 mins. It served our purpose and will come back when we come back next season to ski

Great stay for large friend group!

Me and my friends had an incredibly enjoyable time. The home is spacious and clean with great lounging space in the living room. We played tons of games and sat around chatting late into the night. Each room was very comfortable with blankets and pillows to spare. I stayed in the master room and was a BIG fan of the large spa tub and the patio connected to the room. We were all very satisfied with the space and our time there. The location was nice and tucked away from the hustle and bustle. The few notes we have would be a way to open the garage door instead of going through the house to open it. It would’ve also been nice to know we needed laundry detergent. Both of those are really minor though and we didn’t mind.

Nice location nice house not so great service

The house is spacious and charming. Some aspects seem a bit dated but overall nice. Master bedroom is huge and other two bedrooms are significantly smaller. Bunk bed room is great for kids. A couple things bring your own games / dvds as the house has more little kid toys plus the foosball table. DVDs/VHS tapes are older movies. Also firewood is not provided for the wood stove so bring if you want to use. Lastly was disappointed with the service we received from Vacasa regarding several issues brought to their attention.

Unsafe Property - No Snow Removal

Property owner did not have snow removed following 16" snowfall three weeks before our visit, so the snow melted into a solid block with 3"layer of ice one the very steep driveway and steps. We called Vacassa on arrival and spoke to their local agent, Joe, who was rude and said he could not have the snow and ice removed. I asked him to call the property owner. A next door neighbor stopped while I was chipping, unsuccessfully, at the ice, to tell us that the owner would have a snow removal crew come the next day. No crew ever appeared. We called Joe and left 8 voicemails over the next few days, but never received a return call. When we texted Vacassa asking for help their response was "pick up a shovel". After four days of our seven day rental we packed up and left since the property was unsafe. The steep snow and ice covered driveway and steps were treacherous to walk on. We have asked Vacassa for a refund but have not had a response. Please help us out here.

Solving house

The house was just fine. However it lacked the small details that make it special. There was very little kitchen amenities (paper towels, coffee, soup ladle, foil, enough dishwasher detergent…). The lighting was not warm- led harsh lighting over the dining room and very little lighting in the living room. The kitchen appliances were old and tired- stove gas lighting took forever to boil water. The toaster oven worked but had a broken foot. The bunk bed (top) squeak so much that the child wound up sleeping with her sister on the bottom bed -sharing the bed. We had a good time but would probably not rent this house again. And I had to pay for 2 booking fees (vrbo and Vacasa) which added at least $250 on top of the regular fees). The house was very clean and warm.

Wonderful stay

The Solvang house is in a very quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed sitting out on the decks and walking on the nearby trail. House is spacious and well appointed. Especially appreciated the numerous fans since it was quite hot during our stay.

Great house

This cabin is just what we needed for a perfect family get away. We have two kids and they loved all the kid toys and movies that were there. Definitely would stay here again.

Great location

We enjoyed our stay here. There are a few things that weren’t clear in the listing. The lodge with pool and other amenities is about 2 miles away - nowhere close to the house. There is no air conditioning, so it got very hot during the summer days. The appliances are all outdated. And the house is not deep cleaned - there are cobwebs all over the ceiling and lots of dirt and dust under everything. They only spot clean the house between guests. Other than those few things, we were pleased.

Family Vacation Spot

Great location! Quiet, very clean. Disappointed that there was not cable tv available, or that the jaquzzi tub wasn't working. Overall wonderful spot would come back again!

Solvang Family Getaway House

The house was clean and had all supplies which made it easy for our family to just enjoy our vacation time away from home. Stores near by if we happened to need anything. Would definitely book again!

Great place for families.

Surprised by the lack of cooking basics in the house. Not even any olive oil. The thing you would expect a house like this to just have. Other than the lack of kitchen essentials the house was great.

Clean and Comfortable!

This house was very nice! Great setup for hosting a dinner for friends and family. Everything was neat, clean and in order. Great sound system and the beds very comfortable! The check out was easier than most. My kids want to go back and some day I am sure we will!

Great house close to TD skiing

We had a great stay here. The house was a comfortable size for our party of 2 families, total 4 adults 4 kids. The kitchen was a highlight--nice and big, and better equipped than most rentals we've had in the area. The foosball table was a big hit with the kids. Very close to TD downhill and XC skiing.

Great place for families

We spend a week in winter, to ski in resort around truckee. It is not a long drive, and a very peaceful place The house is great, spacious to welcome a large or 2 families together. We had great time and would recommend it. We are planning o come back in summer.

Great vacation home for a big group

The property was clean and well kept. The entry instructions were given in a timely and accurate manner. The bathrooms were nicely stocked with towels and basic toiletries. The bedrooms had a nice and cozy feeling to them and were provided with extra linen and blankets. The house had a nice kitchen with most utensils needed including a blender, an outdoor grill .

Pleasant Stay

The last day of our stay, water heater did not work, called Vacasa and they sent someone over, to look at the heater. She stated that the heater is rusty and might need replacement, and walked away. Except for the hot water issue, had a pleasant stay at this property.

Family Reunion

The house worked out great for our family reunion. The deck is incredible - very large - a wonderful place to entertain. We had some issues with maintenance on the house - it is a little worn - but the owners were very responsive in addressing any issues we had. We were there during the summer so used the big family room downstairs more as storage for suitcases, etc. but I imagine in the winter it comes in very handy as a place to hang out. There were plenty of towels and bedding and the kitchen was well stocked.

Clean but issues

We loved the location and the cleanliness of the house. But the ac did not work and it was warm this weekend in truckee and the refrigerator never got cold so we couldn't really buy any food.

Overall great except for some issues with the water heater

The master bedroom is huge and amazing! The house was very clean and nice. We loved the location since it is close to the Tahoe Donner ski area. The only issue was that the water heater turned off and we had to fiddle around a bit to get it to work. They plan to replace it so I think it should be fine after that. The property manager Joe was great and very accommodating.

House is fine but managed poorly

House is a great size for two, four person families and is generally true to the description. Housewares are quite run down with just a few rusty pans and the foozball table doesn't really work, with lots of missing pieces. Also, tub with jets doesn't work but shots water straight at your face. Frankly, I could overlook most of these for location and space, but the Vacasa management is AWFUL. The phone number listed in the house is disconnected ( no response via email either) and when I called the general Vacasa helpline, I talked to Ginger in Portland who promised to help and call back, but did nothing. All we really needed was some good snow shovels (sorry, but a bent snow shovel and a garden shovel don't cut it when you have a 20 foot driveway to shovel with two feet of snow, twice). Good luck waiting for them to plow you in or out. If it weren't for a Good Samaritan neighbor, it would have easily taken us four adults hours to shovel our way to the garage. We've shoveled plenty of snow in Virginia and Michigan and those shovels were pathetic. I think I will avoid Vacasa in the future as there are MANY other companies or families to rent from. I understand it was a big storm, but this isn't the first time we've weathered a snowstorm in Truckee, but it will be the last we weather with Vacasa...
