「Baliyana Lodge is a slice of paradise - beautifully landscaped grounds among the native trees on a hillside overlooking a valley towards the ocean. Remote but only 15 mins to the beach and 25 mins to Tamarindo. The hosts could not have been nicer, wonderful, healthy breakfast included, quiet, peaceful and serene location. 「Kitchen was old, not well equipped, lighting poor, ants everywhere especially at night. There were no shops near by, you needed a car to get to them. The gordwalk was treacherous , old and dangerous for walking, wooden boards cracked, missing and installed far aoard. Beds were nice and clean but floors were old and looking not very clean. stoned wall in the bathrooms was rough, dirty and full of insects. Shower heads were poor. 」

「The house is beautiful as is the pool. Pool is cold as it is further away from the water and the nights are cooler. Hearing the howling monkeys early in the morning was amazing. They didn’t wake us. We are just early birds. The construction next door would’ve been nice to know about. Definitely felt a lack of privacy due to that and due to the cameras ALL over the backyard (4 seen). A bit excessive for my liking and felt a bit intrusive to be honest. Safety is one thing…I get that. It was hard...
