"The hotel is beautiful, has a lovely pool but it is far away in farmer’s field and very difficult to find. Google maps sent me in the wrong direction. There should be signs and clear instructions on how to get here. It’s easy if you take the right road from the main highway. Staff is friendly and helpful. "
"Our transfer was by Hotel complimentary boat from the airport ( makes sure you organise a few days before ).
Our room was a junior suite, it was huge.
The island is paradise.
Everyone super friendly, happy & helpful."
"The entire stay was beautiful, the facilities were excellent and online photos dont bring out the beauty of the place.

"Breakfast was excellent, especially the coffee and eggs. Staff very helpful and responsive. Beautiful room with views of the water. Swimming pool nice."
"Kizingo Eco Lodge lived up exactly to what we were looking for: a totally off-the-beaten track eco lodge (consisting of 8 'banda' straw guest bungaloes), well away from the hustle and bustle of Lamu Town and Shela. Its location could not be more perfect: one corner of the lodge faces the Indian Ocean, while the other faces the river/mangrove area (which also boasts the nicest sunsets in all of Lamu).
From our banda, built on stilts into the dunes, we could hear the waves of the Indian Ocean and feel the ocean breeze blow through our room every night. The staff attended to our ever need, so despite being the only guests during our stay, we never felt alone.
We combined 4 nights here with one night in Shela, which felt like an appropriate balance for us between spending time with nature vs. learning more about Lamu Town, its history and its culture.
(To be clear, Kizingo's thatched roof bandas made largely of straw and reeds are more open to the elements than even a Safari tent (which have zippers, etc), so come prepared to be at one with nature.)"
"The rooms are good but plumbing in the room we stayed in needs to be checked. The toilet was difficult to flush and the shower waste water could not quickly drain signaling a blockage."
"This is my second stay at this hotel. The beachfront location is ideal, with plenty of seating and lounging area to take in the ocean view. Though not necessarily modern, the rooms have a classic elegance about them. The staff is friendly and helpful. The evening mosquito net service is a nice amenity."

"Beautiful, elegant and comfy resort. The spa is definitely worth a visit.. Dining, outside bar and pools all added to a wonderful, relaxing experience. Not having access to the beach at the resort was a bit disappointing (wish it was clearly stated on Expedia) but shuttle to their sister resort (the little Gelato place made up for it;) with access to the beach was very convenient.
Will be back for a longer stay."
"What an absolute gem. From the second you're greeted off the plane by the team who help you on the boat to the island until the moment you leave, everyone is super friendly including the dogs! Comfy giant beds, powerful showers, refreshing pool with lots of shady lounging spots, gorgeous vistas, delicious food, punchy cocktails and a long stretch of pristine beach. Great location for day trips or just unwinding on site. We will be back."
