NO response from owner, Stuck with no place to stay
We received an instant booking from this place and VRBO instructions to pay one third of our fee in advance and the remaining two thirds on day of arrival.
The VRBO app only provided an address and no other contact information. When we arrived at the address the gated apartment community would not admit us and we had no way of obtaining entry. I sent a VRBO message to the owner and after leaving and finding a hotel for the night, the owner finally responded claiming we were to pay in advance and that an email was sent to me saying this. The VRBO site has no record of this communication and I never received an email. I don't even know the owners name. We payed a huge taxi fee to drive to the apartment, help communicate with the Spanish speaking gate keeper and help us find another place to stay. This was a very disappointing and frightening situation to be placed in when visiting a foreign country. VRBO should provide a way of helping travelers who have problems with their rentals. I would not recommend this place for this very reason!
