“Beautifully renovated main dining area and bar. Lovely food and drink. Unfortunately seemed a bit short-staffed the evening we dined and service was quite slow. Ran out of orange juice both mornings for breakfast. Room comfortable and spacious-quirks included non-functional telephone and safe. Would return and recommend to others. Perhaps just a bit more attention to detail (dead plants in hanging basket outside lodge rooms) for a 5-star rating.”

“My husband and I stayed at this beautiful little hotel last week. We were pleasantly surprised by the huge room with a view across to the Castle. Our room was clean, luxurious and well stocked with what we might need. The breakfast basket that is provided each morning is terrific, with fresh fruit, juice, yogurt and more. The service was very friendly throughout the hotel. When it came time to depart, one of the owners saw us waiting for a taxi and offered to drive us to the train station……

“Our room (Bluebell) was comfortable and had a mini kitchen. We enjoyed a delicious dinner in the restaurant and a good night’s sleep.”

“A lovely property which is well situated. It had everything we needed. Unfortunately there is a lot of noise transfer from the apartment above. When I tried to contact the owner it took 4 days to get an answer, despite me using the numbers provided. Overall we enjoyed our stay but would definitely stay in the top apartment next time.”

“Grounds are lovely. When checking out, there was a 15-20 minute wait at reception. Need more staff. The lodge itself was spacious however upon entry there was multiple wasps & bugs are around the property. Cob webs on ceiling in spare room. Requires a good proper clean.”

“We found our small double to be as advertised SMALL, but cozy. Jackie and her staff were accommodating and breakfast was delicious. The location was ideal for those who like to walk around an old walled city and there were many dining options nearby”

“Excellent staff, although there’s no AC, and rooms and en-suites are looking a little rough around the edges, the walls are thin and the floors are creaky, doors slam everywhere, not the clientele, just the nasty door closers. don’t let that put you off, Great location, even better staff ”

“Wenn man eine Zeitreise machen möchte ist das Hotel genau das richtige. Es ist ein wunderschönes Anwesen. Leider hat es Ecken und Kanten und ist was renovierungsbedürftig.Das Haus schreibt halt Geschichte und es ist sauber und die Gastgeber haben es auch schon an einigen Stellen renoviert. Wir waren beeindruckt und bedanken uns hier nochmal.”
