Green Island is one of the most accessible islands in the Great Barrier Reef, just a 40 minute boat ride from Cairns. You can do a day trip or stay overnight in the resort. Green Island is great for snorkeling and other water sports like parasailing and windsurfing. There's also an eco-rainforest boardwalk and a croc sanctuary.
