Half way between Telavi and Sighnaghi, 2 km South of Gurjaani is the church Kvelatsminda - an absolute "must see", if you pass by. The church was built in the 8th/9th century and features a long structure building topped by two domes. The interior is already a clear 3-hall basilica and the height is impressive! In Gurjaani you drive up-hill for 2km then park the car and walk down-hill for approx. 300m.

Sabatsminda Church is located half way between Sighnaghi and Gurjaani, Kakheti. The church is located 1 km South-West off the main road, easy to reach, but nothing "special" and not a "required stop-over". Nice quiet place, plain interior, currently under renovation. (but do not miss Kvelatsminda in Gurjaani, if passing-by!)
