“Lovely location, very well appointed rooms Good breakfast ”

“My room was tiny, with poor ventilation, and there was no air conditioning. Despite extreme heat, the staff was unsympathetic and disinterested. Very poor customer service, overpriced, and not as advertised.”

“Breakfast was adequate but the fried breakfast items were not the best. For example Clonakilty Black Pudding and Rashers are available in this area readily.The bacon used was very dry. Try using fresh available fruit, the Melon was hard and dry.The fried eggs are still overdone(I stayed here before) no change there. Bar had a good pint of Guinness but the soft drinks only sold Fanta products which are not the best. Most hotels in Munster use C and C Club orange drinks vastly superior. Very Hot……

“Scenery and staff were beyond excellent”

“Nice hotel with air conditioning in the rooms. Staff were friendly but only partially helpful. A child was running around and jumping in the room above us well until midnight and the reception only told us they would “check it out but couldn’t guarantee anything.” Did not stop after speaking with them and kept us up so long I got a migraine. One staff member was very helpful and brought me a bag of ice for it. Room was comfy but had some mold in the bathroom. Not sure if I would stay again.”

“Really lovely hotel - the best on our trip to Ireland. Beautiful grounds, friendly, helpful staff and delicious food. Dinner was excellent as was breakfast. I highly recommend and would happily visit again. Thank you to everyone at Fernhill!”

“Caveat emptor! It’s been a while since i have even seen an actual double bed, let alone have to squeeze into one with my partner. Usually when a hotel advertises a double bed, they mean a queen, or even a king. We paid €240 ($400 CDN) for that dubious privilege. If you need to spread out a bit, as we do, it’s not acceptable. Way overpriced. That said, the host was hospitable, the included breakfast good and the location central.”
