"Fantastic rooms (better than the photos suggest!) and staff. The drinks were great, and very generously portioned. The excursions were consistently lovely, especially to the private island which we found amazing. Shout-out to Rocky who was a great guide! Main issues were that the food tended towards being a little overcooked, and the main pool was out of order for our whole stay with no discount or similar offered. Overall though, the hotel and staff were great and we'll probably come back."

We had to move bures after our first night as there was water leaking in the bathroom. "Castaway Island was an absolutely wonderful place to stay for 7 nights with 2 kids (8 & 5yo). It was so incredibly relaxed, beautiful & fun. The staff somehow remembered our names which was amazing. I thought it was a Fijian thing, but at the next (fancier) resort we were reduced to madam & sir. Nothing was too much for the team. Once they even climbed a tree to cut a coconut for us. The resort is spectacularly located on the water on two sides; so if it’s windy on one side the other side will be calm. When we ate meals with the kids, we could relax to finish our coffee or drink while they played on the sand next to us. There’s so much to do - kids club, pools, beach, snorkelling, water adventure park, kayaking, paddle boarding, day trips, crab races, frog races, kids & Fijian performances - it was exhausting, in a good way. The other guests are generally very relaxed and friendly too. A perfect day was beach in the morning; pool for lunch; then kids club for the afternoon & evening. We appreciated the warmth, welcome & playfulness of the staff including Maria, Peni, Siteri, Saena, Alisi, Solomon, Dr Sili, Ima, Una, Mickey, Snow White, Maui, Peter Pan, Zac & Zan and the many many other wonderful team members whose names I can’t recall right now. Vinaka Castaway!!"
