Spot on description
"Best Sunset!, hot tub!, canoes! read more about me." couldn't be more fitting. Lex's cabin was everything I wanted it to be. It was the perfect place for a much needed getaway. He also included a great welcome booklet full of nearby activities. Highly recommend!

Fantastic stay!
Our family loved our stay here! The location was great and the views were breathtaking! We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Lex was a great host and the very clean cabin had everything we needed. We hope to stay there again.

Better than advertised.
The view was spectacular. Lex was so helpful and stayed in constant communication. It was the second time we stayed in the area, once in the fall, and this time in the winter. We will be back, hopefully this time in the summer. House was super clean and the beds were comfortable. We truly enjoyed it.

Great getaway
This place was amazing. The pictures do not do it justice. The view was amazing. Very relaxing. Great host, met us on site and showed us around the cabin. Would definitely recommend this place and plan on visiting again!

Really enjoyed this property - great view of the lake, spacious interior, close to the marina, and a very nice host - Alex - who greeted us. He showed us around and gave us some great tips. Will definitely return!

Amazing view of Lake Nantahala
Cabin overlooks the lake and mountains, incredible views! The hot tub felt great after a day of hiking. Cabin is within 20 minutes of the NOC. It had all the amenities we needed. WiFi coverage was better in the back bedroom, but not as good in the front of the cabin. Our teens survived. The owner is onsite at the property and gave great suggestions on area hikes. We are looking forward to visiting again next summer!

I chose this spot because of the good reviews and the close proximity to Nantahala Outdoor Center.
Beautiful place and website is correct-those sunsets are magnificent! Lex lives on the property and is more than willing to help in any way. Very knowledgeable of the area and gives great advise on sightseeing. We will return!!!

Beautiful and Serene Getaway
Our company books this property for our wedding planners when they have a wedding in the area and it really is something that we all look forward to. Sitting in the hot tub overlooking the lake with a cold glass of rosé is true luxury. Thanks for always making these trips memorable!

Awesome views, in and around the Nantahala community as well

Relaxing days with great view
We had three very nice days and Alex is a very nice guy. The tips he gave us about the outdoor activities were perfect. And he has his own canoes you can use to paddle over the lake. We would definitely recommend it.

wonderful place and location
We ( 2 couples ) had a wonderful 4 night stay at this cabin. Wish we could have stayed longer! Lex, the host was welcoming, friendly and helpful and at the same time very respectful of our privacy. The whole place has a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, its bright, clean , colorful and lovely! we like to cook our own meals and we had everything we needed to do so. The location is wonderful- we hiked during the day, then went swimming in the lake ( about a 3 minute walk from the house ) and then warmed up in the hot tub, while looking out over the lake and mountains. We definitely hope to come back. thank you!

Very cozy with a great view!
Alex is an excellent owner who really cares about his guests comfort. The cabin was private, comfortable and had everything we needed, and the hot tub was very nice too! Highly recommend this property!

Disappointed
The view from the cabin was the best part. The "lake access" was not what we expected. We had hoped to be able to spend our vacation fishing from a dock. The "dock/lake access" was a rickety set of stairs leading straight into the water. The "dock" was floating out to the side against the bank. We were told to climb over the railing to get to it. Not safe at all. Long story short we had to pay a guide to take us out fishing due to lack of access. We were told we could use the owners small boat but at this point I was leery of the safety of the boat. The inside of the cabin was clean. The outside yard area was not all that great. Kind of junky. This was our first time renting using VRBO. I guess you learn as you go.

I wish this renter would have read that I do not have a dock at my private lake area. I have a nice private lake shore area with boardwalk with steep steps with rails on both sides to make it very safe to use the canoes that I keep on the water for your convenience. This renter could have research lake view or lake front cabins and paid twice my amount and he could have been happy. It's truly unfair for the renter to give one star due to his lack of research of what I provide for a wonderful great lake view log cabin, experience with hot tub and canoes on the lake for the reasonable price. I offered this renter free use of my 14 ft. bass tracker boat with 20hp merc. electric start and tilt, not a rickety boat at all since it's a 2017! but he would rather complain about things instead of making the best of things. Any way, God bless all, may this renter find happiness some where.

Little piece of Heaven
My kids and I enjoyed the house and the lake so much. It's in the middle of no where and that was perfect for us. Nice and quiet. Beautiful lake view. Loved sitting in the hot tub each night and watching the sunset and fireflies everywhere. Having the canoes to take around the lake was so much fun. My son even caught a fish. Received a thorough explanation of everything along with some recommendations for things to do around there. Thank u so much for the awesome time there 😁

Private & Relaxing
Last weekend's plans had been made almost 5 months ago, at a different location. The owner canceled less than a week prior, thankfully. If not, we would not have been able to have enjoyed Alex's place. It sits high across from the lake, so the views are spectacular. The hot tub provides a full view of the beautiful sunset behind the mountain ridge. If you're lucky enough to the have the moon phase on your side, you'll be staring straight at her as well. Alex was out of the country, but he called soon after our arrival and gave us lots of information regarding the house details and hikes in the area. His son came by later to check on us, but after that, we saw no one else the entire weekend. Joyce Kilmer is a short drive for hiking. Follow Wayah Road down into the Nantahala River Gorge for a delicious burger at NOC. We paddled Nantahala Lake on Saturday (we had our kayaks, but Alex has canoes available). My husband caught the biggest breem ever, but alas, "Gary" got away. You can purchase your fishing license at Bryant Bait & Tackle not far from the house. Fishing lost our interest as soon as we discovered the Eagles' nest. We spent almost two hours watching the eaglets! The house is cozy & clean. It was perfect for just the two of us but would accommodate two couples with kiddos (or not) just as easily. Make sure you go to Granieri's in Andrews; delicious Italian food! Absolutely Breathtaking!
While looking for weeks to find a cabin for my Husband's birthday weekend, I came across this cabin and knew this would be perfect! To my surprise when we arrive we are blown away by how beautiful and charming it was. Better then we even expected!! Shortly after arriving we are greeted by Alex who was incredibly caring and fun to talk to! He was very knowledgeable with the area and his concern was making sure we had the best time while we were there. My Husband had a great, relaxing weekend. We found a wonderful cabin to come back to and friend in the process! As soon as we left we already started planning another time to come back and stay. If you are like us and want a quiet, relaxing yet fun and love being outdoors this is definitely the cabin for you!!

The views are amazing
Alex was great, kept in touch till the minute we got there! This cabin was perfect and if your staying during the cold months it’s a great spot to get the fire place rolling and stay toasty with your loved ones! We even forgot butter at the store and we’re able to borrow some! We will surely be back again. The hiking possibilities are endless by this cabin! Do yourself a favor and book this cabin! You won’t be upset. We came with two small children and they loved it just as much as we did! Thanks Alex. The vanpage’s!

Nice lake view
Nice cabin and deck with lake view and there was an eagles nest and eagle across the lake. Be sure to bring your binoculars. We really enjoyed the hot tub. If you plan to cook, bring your own spices. Owners were helpful and friendly. Sitting area for TV viewing has futons only.

Great view and easy access to the lake
We had a great time. The cabin is very clean and has all the comforts of home. The private access to the lake made it great for us to fish, swim and enjoy the beauty of this part of the country. I defiantly recommend this place to my friends.

Private and relaxing
We had a wonderful weekend in Alex's cottage. Alex met us and not only made sure all was well but gave us a lot of interesting information about the area. We went canoeing on the lake with the provided canoes. We also spent time in the hot tub and enjoyed the wonderful mountain views. it is as described, pretty much everything you need is there and I would recommend this stay to anyone.

Updated Cabin in great location
We enjoyed our stay at this cabin, especially the lake view from the porch, outdoor grill, hot tub and convenient location to many natural attractions near Lake Nantahala. If you enjoy time on the lake, love the crispy Great Smokey Mountain air and want the convenience of a cabin that has everything you need...this ones for you! The owner of the property is very nice, very hospitable, and is lives locally in case you have any questions etc while you stay there!

Wonderful stay, Hiker friendly
We hiked to cabin after a 4 day trail hike because this cabin is only steps away from the Batram Trail. We were able to leave our car in advance which makes this a perfect cabin for hikers. Our 3 day stay was awesome everything the add promises you will receive. Thank you Alex for providing a relaxing stay.

A beautiful setting, comfortable accommodations, friendly owner.
We were met by a very friendly owner who wanted to be sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The deck with a chiminea, grill, hotub, and patio set kept us comfortable on the 2 rainy days. On the sunny days his canoe and equipment made for a beautiful experience on the water without the hassle of renting one. The cabin overlooks the lake and mountains, yet walking distance to a restaurant/store/tackle shop. The king and queen beds were comfortable and the property has a washer and dryer that came in handy. This has got to be the best value on Lake Nantahala or anywhere with this view. Thank you Alex for a wonderful time that I will never forget.

Relaxing and enjoyable
The cabin was beautiful and the owner goes out of his way to make sure your stay is perfect. The canoes and hot tub were very nice to have. Internet worked well, and even the solar eclipse cooperated with a crystal clear sky!

Excellent stay

Thanks, I feel I provide the best value of a cabin 100ft. from Lake Nantahala, with private lake shore area with canoes to use for free. That combined with a super clean pine wood cabin with 2 bedrooms and 2 bath with two outdoor covered decks, one with ping pong table and the other with hot tub, charcoal grill, and chiminea for outdoor fire fun, even in the rain, makes this a five star cabin! You will love it!
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. Alex, the owner bent over backwards to be accommodating. He really makes every effort to make you feel at home. The hot tub was wonderful and we built a fire in the chiminea every night. What a treat. The house had a lot of privacy, which we loved. Much,much better than a hotel. We went out and took advantage of the canoe. What a blast. The lake is very beautiful, and the canoe ride was very relaxing. Alex, thank you for everything, we will be back. Paul and Charlene
