The cabinet was nice and the kitchen well equipped. You are right in the beautiful Nantahala Forest.
The directions took me to the wrong location, saying I should bear right up the driveway when actually I needed to bear left. I figured that out and made it to my rental about 8:30 pm. Check in was after 4 pm.
When I opened the door and turned on the light I was surprised that the bed had been slept in and still had not been changed. Upon looking around, I found an overflowing trash can, wet dish cloths in the sink, food in the fridge and towels in the bathroom floor.
I contacted the host and reported that someone had forgotten to clean my cabin. I told him about the dirty linens, towels, trash and leftover food. He said that he would tell me where to find clean linens for the bed. He suggested that I just go ahead and clean the cabin myself.
I replied that I was too tired from hiking and driving all day to clean the cabin, could I just stay at the one next door, which was identical to mine, if it was clean. He reluctantly agreed saying that he had that one blocked off for some reason. He told me if other people showed up to stay there that I would just have to work in out with them. Being a 56 year old woman by myself I was concerned the whole time that someone else would show up while I was there. Thankfully they didn’t.
