Quality quite fit it's price.

I stay at this hotel for 3 nights. It is a double room on the second floor. I would say the overall quality quite fit it's price. It's an old building but with some re-decoration. There is a coffee machine in my room but no coffee bag nor tea bag is provided. It is a three stories building without an elevator, so I won't recommend travelers with large luggage. The floor is so thin that I can hear every step from the people live in the room above mine. There is very strong Wi-Fi signal in my room, but the speed is incredibly slow. Makes me feel like back into the dial-up era. The bed is big enough for me and quite cozy. The hotel has installed an mobile-style air conditioner to replace the original one on the wall. It works fine but makes big noise while working. I can't find any switch or remote controller to turn on the heat. So I suppose it is central-controlled by the hotel. It locates in a convenient place. Both "Dondas Line(505)" and "Carlton Line(506)" streetcars are 1 block away only. Walk 2 blocks west and you'll meet the subway "Yonge Line", but need to walk one more block north or south to find the entrance of the station. There is a very large and convenient store "Loblaw" on the Carlton Street. Makes shopping food or groceries very easy. I would recommend this hotel to business travelers or young couples, but not family.

Hotel was undergoing renovations so they transferred my reservation to the St James Hotel at 26 Gerrard St E. This hotel was excellent. Would stay there again. Not sure about Econolodge. Hence the OK ratings.

Good Small Hotel

We booked a couple days before for a last minute trip. It was exactly what was expected for the price, very clean and decent location everything was a short Uber ride away from the hotel. Would come here again without an issue.
